THE LAKE
Cabin on Upper Klamath Lake bay at Point Comfort
Klamath Lake is home to 452 bird species and Eagles are often seen in the trees on the property. In the summer the trout come from all over the 94,000 acre lake into the bay in front of the cabin. These wild trout are a strain of steelhead landlocked in the lake 80 years ago. They average 2-3 pounds and fish over 8 pounds are not uncommon. This is a favorite spot for fly fishermen. There are miles of canoe and kayaking trails throughout the marsh. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and watch the fish jumping in the lake!

PROPERTY and DOCK
The dock will accommodate up to eight average sized boats and comes with a ladder if you happen to jump in. The three acres of land surrounding the cabin are planted in rolling lawns, and natural plant species of the surrounding area. The gardens are beautiful in the spring when the lilac bushes and the flowering trees are in bloom. There are several large rock outcroppings to set off the gentle slope to the lake.

NEARBY
Rocky Point Resort is ½ mile down the road, accessible by car, a short walk, or a boat ride from our dock to theirs. They have a small store, restaurant with full bar, and boat rentals. Lake of the Woods Resort is 8 miles north on Hwy 140, a short 10 minute drive. Lake of the Woods features a restaurant, boat rental, store and excellent swimming beaches. The Running Y Resort is 15 minutes south on Hwy 140 which features bar and restaurant, convenience store, and a wonderful 18 hole Golf course designed by Arnold Palmer, rated as one of the top 100 in the U.S. Crater Lake is a beautiful drive, just 45 minutes north. Lava Beds National Monument a hour to the south. These are just a few of the many things to do in the Klamath Falls area.

The setting is stunning and for the first day and a half we were the only ones on the property. However, upon arrival the cabin looked like it was still occupied - dirty unmade beds, wet towels, garbage. We called every number we were given and left many messages. Couldn’t even leave a message with the host since their voicemail box was full. We finally found an envelope with housekeeping numbers. One picked up and came over to clean. At 7 pm she was finished - 3 hours after we checked in so our evening plans were shattered. We discovered later that we had less than a centimeter left on the only toilet paper roll for two people for two nights . While searching for more we discovered dirty clothing in a piece of furniture and a dead mouse in a trap by the bed. I know this is a rustic cabin but this seemed to be going from bad to worse. The next day housekeeping checked in with us and gave us more toilet paper and thanked us for taking care of the mouse and asked us to move our car since other guests were arriving. The indicated parking was at the top of some stony and board stairs. I am handicapped and had a placard on our car and use a walker to get around so now I couldn’t get to the car. I had to have my walker carried up and then I had to have assistance to get up the stairs! Not a positive experience for such a lovely setting!

We had a wonderful, relaxing time in this quaint little cabin on the lake. Michelle was great checking in on us and even gave us a grand tour of the lodge on the property. We highly recommend this place, either for a small family (cabins) or a large family reunion at the lodge, which we are thinking about doing with our group. There are many activities available and amazing views that will last a lifetime!

The views of the lake are just breathtaking. The cabin is cute but it’s a bit quirky with its extension cords and older pipes. We would definitely stay here again though!

Very good upkeep for a 100 year old cabin. Owner furnished coffee, keurig, spices, oil, and lots of ice. The TV worked well and we got to see Mariners game 4 and 5. Downstairs bedroom was sunny and bed was comfy. Upstairs loft bed was also comfy. Bathroom spotless. Nice artwork and collected artifacts. Great maintenence on 100 year old cabin. Plenty of kindling and firewood and electric heater always toasty. Location is wonderful not far from Harriman Resort for killer steaks.

The property was a perfect homebase for our fishing and national Park tour vacation. Everything was as advertise, and there was lots of space as well as great amenities on the lake.

This was a sweet cabin on a beautiful lake. Everything was as-described and the staff were very responsive on getting us firewood for the wood stove. We would have appreciated a welcome info packet with area and cabin info. Also would’ve like a bit more lighting in the cabin. We really enjoyed our stay.

Check-in and kitchen were fine, cabin adequately equipped. However, the bed linen and towels were not cleaned well. The sofa was so filthy and powerfully smelly that we needed to find ways to cover it in order to use it.

This is a peaceful place to stay in May before they hit the busy season. The main noises are birds and bees. Occasionally you'll hear a chain saw or a car. The kayaking is good as well.

On our first day here, my youngest son came running into our (private) room and told us we had to see the sunrise. I went out with him, and it was fantastic!!!! The cabin is adorable and comfortable. It easily slept five of us. Even in the chilly fall, it was warm. It had tons of “atmosphere.” Will we stay again??? We’re already looking at dates to go back!

The cabin is sort of in the middle of nowhere, but it affords a nice, quiet stay. It has a loft for the second bed which might be tricky for anyone with mobility issues but it was fine for us. There is a wood stove for heat and some fans for cooling. We were given a tour of the lodge. The inside has been beautifully renovated with antiques. Those roocomfortable.Aplace for a family

This cabin was perfect for our stay close to Crater Lake. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and having coffee on the porch. The cabin had everything we needed to cook each night and the bed was comfortable. It was warm during our stay but there was an AC in the bedroom which made sleeping cool & cozy! I would definitely recommend.
