I can not give a detailed review at this time because the devastation in western North Carolina caused us to reschedule our trip til next year. They were great at staying in touch despite the power outages and phone disruptions.

We love staying at Pioneer Village with its rustic charm. The caretakers are fantastic and nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the bathroom didn't have an outlet and is in need of some TLC. (The nice lady manager let me borrow an extension cord.) With that being said, it's kind of like going to Grandmas house back in the day, and you would still love it.

This was one of the nicest vacations I have had! The cabin sits right on a little creek so you sit in your rocking chairs and enjoy nature while the creeks runs right by you. These are rustic cabins that don't have lots of frills but they do have all the basics you need. Some of these basics include the softest bed / sheets and pillows along with plenty of the largest towels ever. Just a few things to make your stay extra special, they have cedar walk in closets, a Keurig with enough pods for your stay, a huge smart TV and internet. The owners greet you and let you know if you need anything, they are on the grounds and available at any time. They sweep the falling leaves off the steps so rain won't cause you to slip and fall, they also come out to say goodbye and safe travels. We will definitely return here and we thank them for a great weekend!

Our cabin was very nice , cozy and warm. Very clean and everything we needed for our stay. We had a small front and back porch with nice rockers to sit and view Mts. And also drink coffee and look at creek from our private back porch. Very quiet and peaceful. Very serene. The leaves changing colors and falling. Very Beautiful! Our Host, Ronnie and Mary were super nice people and very helpful in everything we needed. Such kind nice people. We have stayed here for many years at different times. You should really try this Beautiful place with nice creek and and scenery. Close to every place . Watch th the Elk. You will not be disappointed!

My side of the family (29 of us) and a friend stayed at Pioneer Village recently. We rented 6 cabins. We have been staying at Pioneer Village for 25 years for vacation. The upgrades are wonderful. The kids love playing in the creek and in the open green area. This is a special place. I highly recommend staying at Pioneer Village!

This rustic little cabin worked out very well for us - much better than staying in a hotel as we had our own space to cook, relax, play cards, etc. Loved that this cabin is right on the stream - you can hear the stream which is very soothing. Perfect sized property for two people. The bed was very comfortable. I could have used extra pillows for sleeping as I like to stuff them around me and there wasn't any extra available. The sheets were soft!. Loved sitting on the back porch and conducting a few phone calls while listening to the stream and rocking in the rocking chair. The coffee make and I didn't get a long well. Tried the Keurig pods and they made a mess every time. Finally worked out how to use coffee grounds without water and coffee grounds making a mess... I am sure user error!. There isn't a lot happening specifically in Maggie Valley but the location is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Smokey Mountain National Park, Waynesville, etc. There is a super cute womens boutique shop a couple miles away and was able to find some things there on our last day on the way out. I would stay here again if I was back in the area.
