Friends and family is what it’s all about
The house is large, it has a nice hot tub and the kitchen is stocked well. The cooling of the house wasn’t efficient, it was hot inside the whole trip. There was no where to store trash bags inside, they offer no pick up for trash and so you have to drive over 4 miles to throw trash away at a different property they own. There was a note on the fridge that says it takes 24 hrs to fully cool food down? That doesn’t seem like it leaves food in a safe temperature, meaning that it could make food spoil. An email was sent before the stay that states they have the best cleaner in the state but we had to strip beds of sheets, pillow cases and blankets, had to wash and dry towels, do a “general” overall clean of the house before departure, wash and dry all dishes and leave no trash anywhere inside/outside, not even in trash cans or it was said we would be charged extra and we were already charged a pricier cleaning fee at time of booking. I totally understand to not leave a mess behind, I just feel like the cleaning fee should not be so much if it was required that we did most of it before departure. Downstairs bathroom has two doors, one did not stay closed at all and neither of them locked.
The cabin was so cozy and comfortable. Large deck on the back was extremely nice to just sit, chat and listen to the water in the stream. Everything was clean, kitchen was really nice and had everything that you would want. Had an amazing time.
Plenty of room to spread out and have multiple guests. The kitchen was well stocked. Quick walk to the lodge which allowed us to come back and forth easily. Having a washer and dryer on each floor was helpful. House is in need of multiple minor repairs (doors, windows, adjustments made to shower controls - water was scalding hot or freezing), living room and downstairs furniture has outlived its lifespan, dining room chair arm is broken and a good deep cleaning is needed. (The fan in the great room and all the baseboards are covered in layers of dust, dining room light has cobwebs, found trash / unopened food packages under beds, and found previous renters clothing in downstairs couch). Our families made the best of it and had a great time. With updates this rental would be great.
Awesome little cabin, pictures dont do it justice. Most pics are outdated, everything in the house is much nicer. About a 5 min walk to the slopes, not bad at all. The owners were super responsive and very nice to deal with. I would definitely recommend!
Home was well equipped. Owner was very helpful and communicated in a timely manner.
Fun week with friends, enjoyed the cabin, plenty of room, spacious kitchen and fun hot tub.
Had a great time. Nice open floor plan / family room on main level. Fun loft. Great location - could walk to slopes, although it was a bit of a walk. Much of the furniture in need of replacement or repair eg couch that sank to the floor and dining room chair arm that detached. Looks like repairs for a water leak were in process as basement ceiling patched with spots of mold. The 2 beds in basement were cots and not large enough for the larger teens/young adults in our party. If the repairs were made, would give the property 4.5 to 5 stars.
We had a lovely time! The cabin was well-appointed- and even decorated for the holidays!
The cabin was perfect size for us, and in a great location. We did have some issues though. TV only had sound on a few stations Hot water would not work in the master shower Dining table chair arm broken Dining table leg almost fell off Just really needs a good updating and it would be a perfect cabin!! But we made the best of it and had a great time with our kids and grand kids!!
This was the 2nd time renting this property. The house has a log cabin feel. We needed a place that could house 10 people with enough bathrooms for a long weekend stay in the Canaan Valley. This property met our needs with 6 different sleeping areas and 4 separate bathrooms. Property is in good shape, but if you have accessibility issues, be aware, there are stairs. We would return to this property again if traveling with a large family.
Very nice cabin with lots of room to spread out. Had a great time.
We had a lovey long weekend at Broqvarn at the peak of autumn color. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and relax in this very nice cabin. The kids took the top floor, my parents and my husband and I took the main floor, and my brother and sister-in-law took the basement floor with their toddler and infant. We used the kitchen for most of our meals and found it to have everything we needed. We never did figure out the dishwasher, but that is okay. We did not take advantage of the sauna, but did enjoy using the hot tub each day. The host was quick to answer any questions we had via email beforehand and while we were there. We left with some great memories!
Lots of room. We'll equipped kitchen. Plenty of towels. Very large dining table for 10 people great for playing cards and board games. Wifi didn't work, so we needed to call manager. He came and fixed the problem. Although very roomy, could use some updates. Flag stone steps outside leading to front porch need secured and railing to front porch also need secured. Hot tub and sauna were great!
We had a group of 8 men on our annual golf trip and the house was very suitable for accommodating that. Having a washer and dryer on every level was convenient as well.
My adult kids and I had a great stay at this house in WV. Property was beautiful. Everyone had more than enough space to be together but get away from each other when needed! There was an issue with the hot water one day and with one call someone was sent out to fix it! Very responsive! Loved the area and will be back!
We came in July 1 and stay through the fifth… We had everything that we needed and enjoyed a wonderful time.
