We had a fantastic time at this cabin. The views were spectacular. Getting to the cabin was an adventure, but we loved the seclusion of it. Cabin had pretty much everything we needed. The only thing I would suggest is providing little soaps for the showers. My friends that stayed in the upper floor said the shower floor was a little slick, but otherwise everything was great! We highly recommend this cabin. You won’t be disappointed!

We had the most awesome trip. My husband and I stayed for two nights and just soaked up the beauty and tranquility the property offers. The home was so clean, cozy, comfortable and stocked with everything we could ask for. We had the most amazing bear experience with a mama and her two cubs digging up an underground beehive just in front of the back porch. That just made our whole trip. And we had the opportunity to meet Jack who was just so nice and helpful! We can't wait to visit the property again and would definitely recommend to our friends and family.

This is the fourth time staying at the cabin. The view from the porch was incredible. We stayed for an entire month with our friends from Paris.

We’ve been visiting Mountain Laurel Lookout yearly with our best friends family since our kids were elementary age. Now we have middle and high schoolers and the cabin remains perfect for our families and our cabin trips remain everyone’s favorite! The game room is amazing, the house is spacious even with two families, and the views are unbeatable!! Thanks for another great stay at your amazing cabin, Jack and Candace!

I highly recommend staying in this beautiful cabin. Everything is so clean and tastefully decorated. Very comfortable and nice sized rooms. This home has the most beautiful views of any cabin I’ve ever stayed in, I would definitely stay again, and the hosts were very accommodating and kind, they made recommendations for things in the area and respond very quickly to any questions. The drive up the mountain is a little intense, but not a hindrance unless it’s very foggy, the views are worth the steep drive in the neighborhood.

We enjoyed our time at the Cabin. The views are stunning. The quietness and calmness of the mountain does wonders for the human batteries. We will be back for certain!

The stunning views make this home amazing. The sunrise was our favorite! And you can watch the sun set from the balcony off the kitchen. Getting there can be challenging for those that aren’t used to the windy and steep mountain rosds. Definitely recommend going to the store for your food/drinks before you climb to the top of the mountain where there is plenty of parking for you and your guests. They have all the pots, pans, cooking sheets and utensils you need. There’s plenty of space for everyone to relax, eat, sleep, or play games inside or out. Our family truly enjoyed the experience and couldn’t stop talking about it. We all loved the beautiful fireplace even though the heating system worked well and we didn’t need it, we still used it. The owners were great and made the directions very clear. They even gave recommendations for hiking spots and places to see water falls. Would recommend this family get away to our friends!

My husband and I really enjoyed the stay here. We wanted a relaxing week away from the heat in Texas and an experience in spending time in the mountains. This home is located on the top of a mountain with breathtaking view. We felt like we were in a different world being so closed to the nature. The proximity to Asheville and national parks was a plus as we explored the surrounding area. We had a great time and will definitely return. Jack and Candace are very responsive and kind. They shared a great list of things to do in the area. They are great hosts.

Absolutely incredible views. Pictures don’t do it justice. Cabin was clean, well furnished and our kids really enjoyed all of the board games and the downstairs game room was a hit. Drive in and out of town (Old Fort/Black Mountain) was around 20/30 minutes, but didn’t bother us at all given all of the beautiful scenery and wildlife along the way. Owners were great hosts and we highly recommend

My family had an amazing time soaking in a beautiful view in a spacious, comfortable cabin. We couldn’t get over the sunrises and sunsets while enjoying all the area has to offer. Plenty of room and all the amenities you need to recharge and feel like you’re sitting on the sky!

TLDR: The views are amazing, and we look forward to returning. The home was extremely clean and had additional amenities that are not often found in other rentals. Vertically, the drive up to the home is about 1,000’, so it is steep, but at no point overly treacherous. There is a generous parking area, so entering and exiting does not leave you wondering if you will be careening off a cliff, like many mountain homes so often do. The drive to Black Mountain, Asheville, and Mills River is not short, so you will want to plan your day accordingly.

We love this cabin so much that this was the third time we have been here with my husband and two boys. We are thrilled to be renting this cabin for the fourth time; this time for the month of July. The view from the deck is spectacular. We spent the entire time enjoying the view and watching the hummingbirds who flocked to our hummingbird feeder. Black mountain is a 30 minute drive away and Asheville is 45 minutes. Our favorite restaurants are Jerusalem Garden Cafe in Asheville and Blue Ridge Biscuit Company in Black Mountain.
