Stayed Oct 6, 2023This house is well equipped and could comfortably accommodate as mAny as two couples and four kids. It had a nice screened porch on the upper level and a nice deck below with a gas grill and outdoor table. The spectacular Mountain View advertised was non-existent with leaves on the trees and could benefit from view-scraping. I’m sure it’s very nice after the leaves fall, but advertising it as such is somewhat misleading. The property owner was very pleasant, responsive, and easy to deal with. Since we were only there for two nights, it came to over $350/night by the time the various fees were applied. It would be a better value for a longer stay. Big Canoe has multiple amenities, but with the exception of the hiking trails and the dog parks, everything else (swimming, boating, tennis, golf, health club) incurs extra charges. This is not an all-inclusive resort, but if cost is not an issue, it’s a very nice place to visit or live. Given the logistics involved in eating out ( the only restaurant on the premises weis a at the club house.) it’s probably wiser to plan to eat at home. There are a couple of restaurants nearby and plenty within a 30 min drive. The roads are well maintained but seriously hilly and twisty; definitely not for timid drivers, especially in the winter,

Stayed Jun 30, 2023Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay. The house is up high in the mountains of big canoe so very peaceful and quiet. We came for July 4th week and the entire community was buzzing with activities for the kids. Plenty of space and nicely laid out for our family of 6. Kids loved the bunk room. Advice to future renters: bring some paper plates / plastic cutlery as our size family could churn through dishes. Hosts were very responsive and great so don’t be afraid to reach out if necessary.
