Everything was as advertised - really enjoyed it and would stay there again.

We absolutely adored this property! Our group was in for a wedding and we actually left a little early to spend more time at this property! Very clean, very well appointed. Russel and Paula are top notch hosts!

This cabin was wonderful, and the views were beautiful. We’re already planning a trip back later in the year to take better advantage of the outdoor activities in the area. The property was clean, spacious, and packed to the brim with amenities, even more than what was just on the listing. For a group with several professional chefs and hobby cooks who had planned a full weekend menu including a multi-course dinner, the kitchen in particular was great — we were surprised by how well stocked it was for a rental property.Russell and Paula were EXCEPTIONAL hosts. They were very communicative and quick to respond. They were able to work with me on a last minute logistical request with no fuss, and they were even available at 9PM to help guide us to the property when our GPS misdirected us on our way in! Overall a great experience, we have nothing but positive things to say. We loved our time at this property!

A charming home with breathtaking views! We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were communicative and welcoming and the home was very cozy and accommodating. The long and winding mountain road to the house came with incredible views and terrain. We hope to be back one day!

What an amazingly beautiful view this home offers! Big Canoe itself is beautiful but the view from the back deck of this home will shock you! My friends and I enjoyed our few days relaxing here, as well as hiking and trail riding throughout Big Canoe. We also enjoyed having the personal Chef Hannah Noltemeyer come up and cook for us on our last evening. The home was stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. Thank you!!

If you are considering a stay at Big Canoe community, don’t hesitate to book this home! The house was located deep into the community with a fabulous view from its high perch in the mountains. All of the bedrooms were cozy and comfortable (and the rain showerheads were especially incredible after a day at the lake or hiking the trails!). My kids and teen loved all of the video games and shuffleboard, and we all enjoyed the large couch perfect for movie nights. With a fully stocked kitchen (and coffee bar!), you will be very comfortable for a short or long stay. The hosts were available, but we never needed them as all information was provided in a binder and we didn’t encounter any issues at all with the home.

We were celebrating three high school graduates. We all had the best time. The house was immaculate, well stocked with necessities. Truly a beautiful home. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend others to stay here as well. Best time ever!

My wife and I are frequent VRBO users and most of the places we stay are really really nice, but Sweet Retreat is the crown jewel. This was the best VRBO property we have ever stayed and Russell and Paula were the absolute best hosts. The home was immaculate, the decor was amazing, the views were great, and all of the small touches (i.e. snacks on the bar, nice quality kitchen appliances, games, etc.) made such an impression and made the stay so much more enjoyable. Additionally, Russell and Paula were amazing hosts. They provided clear directions, more information than we needed, and were very responsive. If I could give them six stars I would. We are very much looking forward to returning to Sweet Retreat at some point in the future.

This property is amazing! It exceeded my expectations! The host has thought of everything you might possibly need. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. I’ve used VRBO many times and this has been my best experience by far! If we are able to go back to Big Canoe….. this is where we will stay. Thank you guys for giving us such a great time!

Sweet Retreat is a beautifully maintained cabin that feels connected to its mountain cabin past with updated appliances, fixtures, and finishes. We loved sitting on the deck around the fire table at night, surrounded by fall color, and watching sunsets and moonrise. Great location for exploring N. GA. Very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend Sweet Retreat. Our family group gathered from FL, AL, and WA for the first time together since before COVID. It was perfect. We'll be back.
