Cozy, very nice, easy to find, and well apportioned.

The cabin and the view were absolutely perfect. The cabin was well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. We will certainly be returning next year.

My family and i had such an awesome stay at The Overlook Cabin in Lake Lure. The cabin itself is absolutely gorgeous and cozy. Amazing views from the deck. Very clean! It offered a wide variety of entertainment in the game room. The kitchen was well equipped. Definitely recommend The Overlook and plan to visit again in the future.

Cabin was perfect for our group. We enjoyed the game room the most. Comfy beds. Lots of room tospread out but also big spaces for all to gather to eat and hang out.

We loved the views .My kids loved seeing the sunset.

The house was incredible. The view off of the back porch was beautiful and the location is super private and quiet. The house itself is well stocked for cooking and has plenty of beds. The game room has all the essentials. The pool table has seen some better days but it is a vacation rental after all.

The cabin is beautiful along with the view. I am glad to see that the area is on the mend from Helene.Matthew was a great host. He made sure we were taken care of.

The view is breathtaking! Great home, loved the game room and huge tv’s… for once a home for 8-10 people had large enough table and ample seating! Fire pit on porch was great! We had a wonderful time and the owners were super responsive and provided every needed detail of information to insure we had a great experience! Will be back!

The cabin was gorgeous!! The hosts Matt and Katie were so helpful and informative prior to our stay! Everything was clean and well organized making our stay and check out super easy and effective! We cant wait to be able to stay there again!!

The sunset views are unmatched! The privacy was a welcome treat as well. The cabin has loads of entertainment options, and is quite spacious. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking most meals. The host communication was quick and responsive. The gas fire pit on the covered porch is a dream- the ease of use has me looking to replace our wood fire pit at home with a propane version. (The firewood pit is down the backyard steep hill and there was no seating, so we never purchased the wood to use it)The cabin is convenient to hiking and shopping in Chimney Rock, and a little less than an hour from downtown Asheville for shopping and dining. We are already talking to friends about coming back for another fall break!

We can’t say enough about this gem with a fantastic view and location in a gated community! Plenty of space for the family to spread out. Everything about this cabin we loved, mostly the layout of the gameroom with the adjacent theatre room, king sized bedroom and full bath on the lower level. The loft area above the main floor was a hit as well. Well stocked kitchen. Look out from the deck and you can see Chimney Rock. A fantastic find!

View from the cabin was amazing and everyone enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset from the upper deck. The pool table and virtual pinball machine were a hit, along with the natural gas fire pit. The property was in a gated commuity, but there were no neighbors near the property, making it feel secluded and just like the cabin in the mountains we were going for.

EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! The house was just beautiful and clean and cozy and we enjoyed everything there!!

First of all, Matt and Katie are wonderful host. They are quick to respond if needed. Cabin was beautiful with a breath taking view. The kids 6-13 enjoyed the game room and had a space to do their own thing. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals for all 10 of us. Plenty of sitting both dining room and living room. Beds were comfortable. Grocery store is 5 miles away and Walmart is 30 minutes. Wonderful cabin- plan to stay again next year.

We love this property as soon as we got there. The owners are super easy to reach and the cabin is absolutely beautiful. Very clean and plenty of dishes and towels, etc. for you to use.

We had a great time with our family . Very relaxing weekend, enjoyed the game room. Our first night a hail storm came through and power was out for hours. The generator never came on. Second day got very warm and couldn't get cabin cool the air conditioner would run some then turn off.. Third day we experience violent shaking during breakfast and later found out it was an earthquake. The TV s were hard to navigate instructions would have been helpful.

Such a beautiful place. Even though the lake and most fun activities were closed due to Helene clean up, we made the most of our time. The cabin was super fun with lots to do to stay connected. Great place to come home to following a long day at the horseshow. The hosts were awesome and accommodating. We will stay there again for sure

Beautiful home! The family and i thought this place came with a hot tub but unfortunately we misunderstood this (it was our fault) We loved the view and how kind of secluded it is from other houses. We reached the owner and they were so quick to respond to any of our questions. The kitchen had almost everything needed pots, pans, utentils and even seasonings, if youre a coffee lover like me they have plenty of that. The stove top was not as clean, it seemed like the people that clean didnt try hard enough and master bathroom also needed some cleaning. Unfortunately we didnt get to try the pit but the game area was fun for kids and adults. Also, chimney rock is about 20-25 minute ride, the place wont be open until May according to what the website says. Overall this place is very nice and it makes you feel right at home. I would 100% recommend it!

My girlfriends and I visit the mountains at least twice a year and this is the best rental we have ever had!It was super comfortable and was equipped with everything you need to have a fun relaxing time. I wish we could have used the bonfire pit (NC burn ban), but maybe next time. The propane firepit on the deck was fabulous! The girls are already saying when are we going back! Thank you for such a beautiful place!

This property was perfect! The owner was so responsive and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed. There's an amazing view at the cabin and all amenities that you need and the game room was such a fun addition. The cabin has comfortable beds, an amazing shower in the master bath thats fancy but super easy to use. It makes you feel like you are under a waterfall! The gas fire place and fire pit outside was perfect to allow us to still enjoy the views and outside. The wall of windows and doors make it wonderful yo enjoy the amazing views from inside the cabin as well. We will definitely look into booking again in the future!

We had an amazing stay and the house was perfect and fully equipped. Beautiful coffee view of the mountains every morning and very private and spacious with no neighbors on top of you.

Everything was great! Easy check in and out process. Owners were easy to reach with timely responses via email and by phone. The view was great! My friends and I really enjoyed our weekend at the overlook.

We loved The Overlook at Lake Lure! The cabin is perfect for a family or for a couple’s get-away. We celebrated our anniversary here and hope to return. The view is breath-taking, the neighborhood is quiet and safe, but you don’t feel like you’re in a neighborhood. The cabin is beautiful and has everything you would want/need - WiFi, smart TVs (at least four), cozy couches, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen and bathrooms and fun games like foosball, pool, pinball, Frogger, Galaga, etc. The outdoor deck has a gas grill, many chairs and a gas firepit table. We appreciated the alarm and when we sent a message through VRBO about it, the owner responded quickly and was very helpful. We were fortunate to have the view of many beautiful sunsets over the mountains. Even if we hadn’t been lucky with the weather, we would absolutely give this cabin five stars because the rating is about the cabin and the cabin is fantastic!

My family (7 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 12) had an awesome time. The location was perfect. The neighborhood, although somewhat of a climb, was all paved so it was easy to acccess. The house was perfect with amazing views from the living room, master, play room, and deck. We loved the gas firepit on the deck, just hanging out and staring at the view. The kids and adults played pool and other games for hours. Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely consider renting this house again.

Some friends and I took a weekend in the mountains and enjoyed our time at the overlook. The porch gives a great view of the valley and mountains. Our favorite and most used amenity was the gas fire pit on the porch. Matt was very responsive when we messaged. We would recommend renting from Matt and Katie.

Beautiful home, great location, best view of the mountains.

This home was the perfect location to get together with our family of mixed ages. We were glad to be able to enjoy the beautiful view from inside the home and from the back deck. It rained part of our trip but the game room provided plenty of entertainment for everyone. The only improvement we would make would be to have more usable surfaces in the bathrooms. All-in-all, everything was lovely!

Amazing cabin for kids and adults too. Only 15 min from lake lure and everything that goes along with it. Game room was a must have in rainy days.
