Bayfield, Wisconsin
Hauser's Bayfield cabin is dog friendly. If you have a dog - the cost is 28/day per dog or $28/day per extra person if more than two (for an extra person - kids ok - older than 6 years old ok). 4 adults would be too much for the cabin. Note that the only extra sleeping possible is on a non pull out leather couch or 5 foot long chaise lounger in LR. The cabin sleeps two adults on a luxury queen bed. Minimum 2 night stay for Fri/Sat nights. The cabin is located in a peaceful private setting. We have hosted over 80 honeymooners and anniversary couples. Little Sand Bay beach is just two miles away. Hike Meyers Beach trail to have an overlook to a gorge and sea cave and Lake Superior. You can see a bit of Lake Superior out the front windows of the cabin other than late May to late October each year. Bayfield is a short 15 minute drive and Legendary Waters casino is ten minutes. Cornucopia (and the free artesian water) (also great smoked whitefish and regular whitefish fillets at Halvorsons there) is about 20 minutes.
Free use of Yukon Charlie snow shoes in the winter! Main snowmobile trail to Lake Superior right across the street! Plenty of room for your snowmobile and trailer (or boat trailer in the summer) in the driveway. XC and downhill skiing and at Mt Ashwabay. The amazing ice caves are only a few miles away!
Beautiful private setting, with wrap around deck overlooking birch and pine trees in ravine. Flowing stream in spring.
Little Sand Bay beach is only a few miles away - and there is Meyers Beach, the beach in Cornucopia - or the beaches over on Madeline Island that you get to via ferry and bike rental (best to rent bike on Bayfield side.) Lots of sailing, hiking, biking, and artsy places in the Bayfield area. The new casino (Legendary Waters) is only ten minutes away.
The cabin was remodeled in 2012, and has a queen size Serta IComfort mattress with remote control for three levels of vibration. You can raise and lower head and feet. Includes Zero Gravity mode! There is a dresser and armoire in the bedroom along with a flat screen 'Smart' TV offering free movies via Amazon Prime and other apps. There is a full kitchen, granite counter tops, knotty cherry cabinets, knotty pine ceilings, quartzite walls, and wood stove.
If you have two extra people - we recommend at least one is a kid - as besides the BR sleeping two - there is a leather non-pull out couch in the living room - and 5 foot long chaise lounger to sleep on for the two extra people (we can provide extra sheets, pillows, blankets) or you can use a small blow up mattress for one of them. For safety reasons (you agree to accept full liability if you want an exception) kids 5 and under are not allowed. Any age is counted as an additional guest for payment purposes.
Free Wifi and Sirius Satellite radio and Pandora stations! The music plays through the speakers in the living room from the Grace Digital Radio unit located in the bedroom.
You'll see more stars than you've ever seen at night - because the cabin is away from city lights. It is set back into birch and pine trees for a cozy feel. Bayfield is just a short 12 minute drive away - and the new Legendary Waters Casino is only 5 minutes away! Also just a couple minutes away is Little Sand Bay, where you can go kayaking and hiking.

Great cabin and such a wonderful secluded location. It was just what was needed to recharge!
Rick has an awesome place that setup very nicely, peaceful and in a great location. Rick is a super host, and will treat you well.
This cabin is fantastic, the owner Rick had great communication throughout and the cabin is clean and comes with everything you need. The kitchen is very well supplied with all the utensils to cook delicious meals and the serta mattress is a great touch! The evenings were cool and the wood burning stove kept us plenty warm. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to book again!
This place was incredible! Everything was clean and just immaculately well kept. The bread maker was a fun treat (and a new experience!). After full days of exploring Bayfield and the surrounding area, it was sooo nice to come back to the coziness and warmth of this beautiful cottage in the woods. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to go to get away from the craziness of every day life and re-discover what truly matters, such as new adventures, immersing yourselves in nature, and quality time with people you love. Thank you, Rick, for your amazing hospitality and for opening up your wonderful home. We will definitely be back!!!
Great little cabin in beautiful setting. Enjoyed the space indoors and out. Highly recommend!
This is a lovely little cabin and the pride of ownership really shows. Everything is high quality and very clean. The location is about 15 min from Bayfield but less than 10 to little sand bay, which was ideal for us to launch our Hobie and do some sailing around the sea caves. While the neighbors are pretty close, the cabin is tucked in the trees so you feel secluded. The hosts have provided everything you could need to plan fun excursions or just lounge around the cabin.
No surprises---looks just like the photos. A darling cabin in the woods, but near a park with beach and only 8 miles to Bayfield and Madeline Island. The cabin was very well equipped too.
Hauser's Bayfield Cabin was an absolute delight to visit. We arrived late on a Sunday night and were immediately able to unwind. The location of the cabin was easy to find and off the beaten path (which we loved). The neighborhood was quiet, and neighborhood traffic was virtually non-existent. The cabin itself had a surprising amount of storage, and we were able to move right in! Rick did a great job supplying details about the local attractions, restaurants, and happenings which broadened our vacation quite a bit! Our dog Stella was thrilled with the cabin as she could see us in any room by lying in the middle of the kitchen. The cabin was in Superior condition, and the amenities (especially the bread maker) made us feel at home. Rick is a fantastic host. His communication is friendly and his response time is immediate. We had no issues at the cabin whatsoever, but it was nice to connect with Rick to hear about the cabin's history! Reach out to him to learn more if you stay for a night or a few days. Thank you, Rick! We will be back!
Very nice place to stay and it was central to the events I was attending. I appreciated the fact I could bring my dogs. My daughter and I felt very comfortable and safe there and I would like to bring my husband back the next time. U would definitely visit this place again.
Off the beaten path on a gravel road in the North woods, the house was fully stocked with unexpected amenities like a full kitchen with granite counter tops and convection oven, adjustable Serta bed, and geothermal HVAC. We appreciated the use of the Weber grill, coffee grinder and fire pit. We brought our kayaks and explored the Lake Superior coast as well as some inland lakes and slough/bogs. Had a blast biking on Madeline Island and around town in Cornucopia (northernmost town in WI). Were amazed by the gorgeous white sand beaches running all along the north west coast of the peninsula from little sand beach (10 min drive from cabin) all the way to Port Wing (where we had the whole beach to ourselves). Biggest surprise was how many waterfalls were nearby. We “found” and hiked to 4 waterfalls and left detailed instructions in the guest book for future visitors. A couple bits of advice: most of Bayfield County has very spotty cellular connections so download your Google and AllTrails maps before you leave the house; check local town and vineyard websites for events like farmers markets and live music; bring bug repellent- the mosquitoes are vicious.
A great cabin for two in the woods. Great for anyone that wants to go off the beaten path and get out of town. Enjoy the smells of the great north woods, stars and fire flies. This cabin is within driving distance to lake Superior, beaches, hiking, and orchards. There were plenty of cherries and strawberries to pick this weekend! Drive to Bayfield and enjoy the farmer's market on Saturday mornings and partake in a show at the Big Top in the evening.
Had a great trip, the cabin and property are beautiful! Highly recommend this cabin!
Very secluded little place down some scenic backroads. Worked great with the proximity to Bayfield, was a short drive to town. Cabin is really nice, perfect size for just 2 people and a dog. The bugs were pretty thick since its right in the thick of the woods so we didn't spend much time outside. Would definitely stay here next time we make our way back out to the area.
