So I’ve been to this and the bamboo beatle down the road the last four years in a row, it’s a nice peaceful getaway but unfortunately this time wasn’t the best, to start with in the celling fan light had hundreds of ladybugs (I unscrewed it and threw them all outside), the bathroom fan was dusty, and the hot tub smelled like fish after the second night. Not your best Lydia

I wanted to try and see what this little cabin could accommodate and it didn’t disappoint. It was in a quiet, secluded spot, yet the patio area, hot tub and ample parking made it an even larger area to enjoy. I WILL be returning!

Spent a lovely two days at the cabin, in the hot tub, and around the fire pit, Plenty of room, privacy, and quiet; aside from the local fauna, of course. Worth the visit.

Loved the hot tub and staff was very responsive. Only suggestion would be to put up hooks in the pod for towels and coats!

We called to have the locked checked, we had difficulty locking it everytime we left. No one ever came to work on it. Lydia advertizes that they have TV. No where in the advertizing of the Bamboo Beatle Pod does it say you have to use your cell phones hot spot to view the TV. There was no soap dish holder in the shower. We had to put our soap in a bowl and put it on the window ledge and reach outside the shower curtain to get it. The water in the bathroom was barely running. There was hardly enough water coming out of the faucet to wash your face, very low water pressure. One thing I feel that was lacking was a couple hooks to hang a jacket or a towel on.

The bamboo beetle cabin pod was cute and fun for one night. I would recommend this for someone traveling alone or with one dog. Due to the size of the pod, it was just too small for me and my husband to be comfortable any longer than an overnight. I am very tall and didn’t quite fit well in the bathroom or shower. The location is pretty with Mountain views and is very quiet/remote/rural. We had to drive several miles from our pod to get to the event that was held at the main lodge. We didn’t realize how far the cabin pod was from the lodge. We brought our own linens. For guests comfort, I would recommend Lydia Mountain staff replace the futon with a day bed or Murphy bed with a better mattress and upgrading the pillows and linens. Although the cabin pod was fairly clean, there was a layer of dust on the shelves and light fixtures inside the pod. I was surprised that there was only one coffee packet available. The smart TV did not get a signal so we couldn’t watch tv. The key didn’t work well in the door (jammed/stuck/wouldn’t open). If we return, we will rent a bigger cabin with proper beds and full sized showers.

There was a leak on one of the window sills but it only happened when it rains really hard. I reported it. Beautiful view and quiet stay

We stayed for 2nights, in this pod. The location is great very secluded, lots of bird life to hear and see as well as groundhogs and deer, it was very peaceful . It's about a 15min drive to Shenandoah NP. The fire pit was great, it does have a hot tub but we didn't use it. The pod has just about everything you need for your stay.

Quiet and private but the futon had no bedding or pillows, had to drive 20 min to the main lodge.
