Red Canyon...amazing. This property sits directly on the rim!! It's so well appropriated! It IS very remote. Plan beautiful meals al fresco...the patio/outdoor kitchen is so much better than anywhere you'll eat in the Hills. The views are breathtaking and wild life incredible.

The cabin and property is even more amazing and beautiful than the pictures show! The best part of our entire trip was just sitting in the hot tub enjoying the canyon! Lori is a wonderful host. We are already recommending the cabin to friends and family!

The cabin at the edge of solitude where the air is fresh and the stars are bright surpassed our wildest dreams. It was absolutely gorgeous! The gardens, the canyon, the hot tub, the wildlife, the beautiful artwork in the cabin, and so very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was outfitted with pretty much everything you need. Only thing to be aware of is that Custer and a grocery store is about 45 minutes away, but if you plan ahead it's not a problem.And our hosts were FABULOUS! Very responsive and helpful. Our vacation was a delight and wished we could have stayed longer.

This property is truly special and an incredible opportunity to have serenity. The hot tub at the edge of the canyon is so unique and special. The grilling station, picnic table, and deck are all first class. The home has been stocked with all of the necessary amenities. The dining room table is wonderful to enjoy the view while enjoying a meal. The stars on a clear night fill the sky with very little distractions. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys nature, privacy, and doesn't mind a long ride on a dirt road.

Our group really enjoyed staying at Lori’s cabin. You are literally away from it all at this remote cabin. The cabin is very well stocked, and uniquely decorated. Everyday, I was seeing some other detail that made me smile. The views from the cabin are outstanding as you are right at the edge of the canyon. We enjoyed the hot tub and grilled on the high quality outdoor grill. Lori was very responsive answering our questions. The weather was nice enough for us to hike down into the canyon following the supplied directions. I highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful view. My husband grew up in the hills and had never seen a view like this one. Cabin stocked well and clean.

Cabin was everything we had hoped it would be. The view of the canyon through the big windows were awesome. The stars seemed extra bright out there, especially from the hot tub! The only minor point is the size of the bathroom. It was a little tight for two people. Other than that, we will definitely stay here again!

The house was beautiful and the views. Had to leave early because of not feeling well the hostess was so understanding. We will be returning again

11/10 easily! The view here is a million dollar view! The host is more than accommodating, the cabin was so clean and fully stocked. You can tell this place is cared for andoved for by the owners. The view from the hot tub at sunset was to die for. It's got a rustic cabin feel, yet all modern amenities.

The Edge of Solitude is a beautiful cabin with an amazing view. It is a perfect place to stay for peace and solitude. It's like a little piece of Heaven. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

What a beautiful location. We enjoyed meandering around the property and hiking to the bottom of the canyon several times. The views are just spectacular, sunrise to sunset. Tall timbers, whispering winds, owls hooting goodnight, and coyote howls greeting us in the morning. Solitude at it's finest.Thanks for sharing your piece of nature with us. We didn't want to leave, and we will be back!

Our stay here was absolutely amazing! The cabin was clean and cozy. This well taken property offers unbelievable views. The hot tub was very clean and perfectly placed as well! Would recommend to anyone!

My sister and I stayed here for 3 glorious nights. Got up to see the sunrise and hear nature wake up each morning and have tea on the deck. The gardens were really nice and the smell of sage all around the property. The views were breathtaking, the cabin had all the modern conveniences, the master bed was incredibly comfortable. We’ve already talked about coming back!!

Red Canyon Cabin was just as it appears online - peaceful and stunning. The views from every inch of the property are stunning. My wife and spent 5 days at the cabin and 2 of the days we never left the property. Steps to the loft are steep and bathroom toliet area is a little tight, but other than that the cabin was amazing.If you are looking for a tranquil setting that is maintained to perfection then you need to book this cabin.Thank you Lori for a wonderful stay.

Remarkable, everything you said it would be and then some! Beautiful views. Saw the white buffalo - twice !!!Loved all the wildlife. Stars- thunderstorm- rainbows-beautiful flower gardens. Tried painting the beautiful views with water colors and after looking at the finished picture and decided we need to take a class or two.Quiet and peaceful days and nights. Loved it.

If you are looking for beauty & serenity this is the perfect place. The location and view’s couldn’t be more beautiful. The cabin is laid out quite well & offered everything we needed. We found it was convenient for our day trip adventures and we loved the birds.

This cottage is simply amazing. I went to South Dakota for the Sturgis motorcycle rally but was so captivated with the tranquility and views that I spent most of the vacation relaxing at the cottage. Waking up with 5 deer just outside the door to all of natures creatures and views surrounding me, I didn't want to leave. I couldn't have imagined anything more stunning. Thank you Lori!

Very clean, private, a great place to get away. Within a few hours of everything. I would recommend a truck, it is remote. You will see wildlife.

House was great the gravel road was a little long but we new that going in, and the stairs to the loft are very steep need to come down with caution but overall very good experience.

This is a gorgeous, out-of-the-way property. The view of the canyon and the night sky are worth every minute of the drive out of the way. The owner has gone out of the way to provide quality bed linens and towels, a clean grill on the deck, comfortable furnishings inside and out; even the fireplace was ready-all we had to do was light it up! Peaceful, gorgeous and beautiful stay!

Within minutes of viewing the listing, my fiancé and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon, and we were not disappointed!The pictures do not do the view justice. I have seen some beautiful places in the Midwest, and have traveled a fair bit, and this was the most beautiful location I’ve ever stayed! We marveled at the scenery, the quiet, the peace, the stars, the detachment from busy life, the attention to detail of the home, the coziness of the surroundings, the opportunity to be in and walk through nature and the wildlife we witnessed. We were bird watching everyday, and really enjoyed the hot tub and indoor fireplace! It snowed a couple of days during our March visit, and it was spectacular!! You can’t dream this stuff up!! The host was very responsive, and addressed all of our needs. A couple of things I would note to prospectives: I would suggest that you bring a little box of general medicine with some things like painkiller and decongestants, because it is 45 mins to the closest city. One other thing is that the stairs to access the loft are very steep. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s noticeable. We had the neighbors Thai food, which the host suggested and shared her menu, and it was awesome! Best trip ever, would love to go back and make more memories! It was worth the drive and the cost!

Somehow the amazing pictures did not do this place justice! The view was breathtaking whether it was from the deck, hot tub, kitchen, or bedroom. Loved the long drive to the the wonderful seclusion, the kitchen was great for cooking and it all felt fancy without being ostentatious.Custer State Park will forever have a piece of my heart.

We stayed at the cabin over Thanksgiving weekend to visit relatives in the area. The cabin was absolutely perfect. After long days of being with family we came home and woke up to silence and beauty. This is the perfect spot for a mindful retreat by yourself or relaxing time with loved ones. Highly recommended!

The cabin is pristine, and Lori has been so thoughtful in every nook, cranny, and corner of it. The Bose system for music, the already-prepared firewood and starters - hard to list it all but you'll feel how thoughtful she's been as you explore inside. The lack of light pollution is completely true - we actually saw the milky way on the first night, which was mind-blowing. Download a 'stars' app and spot them all while you soak in the hot tub. Pure bliss. Something that really struck me was the lack of *noise* pollution. It is dead quiet out there, which was incredibly peaceful and something I haven't experienced before. It will really impact you (in a good way) if you've never been to a location this remote. Someone mentioned the long gravel road to get there, and that it kind of makes going out a little challenging, but after you drive into town a couple of times, it really isn't bad! Plus there's cows, horses, turkeys, and expansive views to experience along the way :) Oh and you can get insanely good thai food delivered to your door. I mean what is this place?! Do yourself a favor and stay here. Find peace, and pleasure, and balance. You'll love it and you'll miss it.

We stayed at this breathtaking location for our 30th anniversary. It was amazing. The weather was awesome. It was like being on a beach but yet in the mountains, the weather wonderful. The serene pleasures of this cabin will want to have you stay there for weeks. The host, Lori, was wonderful to work with very responsive on any of our needs. We tried the neighbors Thai food and it was very good. We both would highly recommend this location for anyone that wants to getaway from it all and just be still and enjoy Gods beautiful creation.
