In the land of waterfalls located at the Cherokee Foothills, there is a quaint mountain cottage nestled in the Jocassee Wilderness. Devil’s Fork State Park is 0.7 mile from the doorstep. The front porch has 2 rockers and a swing where deer can be seen walking through property. The back of the house has a screened and open air porch to relax, romance, and create family memories for a lifetime. The secluded home has outstanding views of the unspoiled wilderness for all seasons. The only lights seen at night are the stars and the sounds of crickets and tree frogs fill the air. An upstate parks pass is provided for admittance to various picnic pavilions, multiple boat ramps with sufficient parking for boats of all sizes to include Table Rock, Oconee State Park, etc. Breath taking Lake Jocassee is less than 1 mile, great for boating, tubing and skiing. Numerous islands accessed by water. There are quiet nearby paths for walking, biking, hiking or meandering. The endless miles of wilderness facilitate hunting and fishing for the outdoorsman.
We spent a quiet Thanksgiving weekend celebrating the joys of family time with home-cooked food surrounded by a pastoral setting. Our place was clean and comfortable with plenty of activities near Lake Jocassie.
Very close to the Lake
The home was clean and had everything we needed for cooking and relaxing. The privacy and location to the dock was unbelievable. Really appreciate the quick responses from Michelle and the park pass. The bathrooms were fully stocked with anything you may have forgotten. We cant wait to return!! The lake was truly a paradise.
We had such a wonderful stay! Everything was perfect. The personalized welcome sign was unexpected yet very thoughtful. Kids loved the bunk beds. I don’t have one negative thing to say. Hosts were easy to get in touch with. I loved how some of those little things that may have been accidentally left at home (body wash, deodorant, toothbrushes) were at the house just in case. That was definitely a nice touch. We felt very safe and location was very quiet, except for our kids lol.
Property was stellar. Everything was perfectly as advertised. Very well maintained and comfortable. Super convenient to Devils Fork State Park. Owner personal touches made the stay even more special. Welcome sign showed pride in the property and care for guests. This is a do over!!
It was nice
Shhhh. this is a secret. What a great place. It is a gem in the mountains. It is a quaint house and a great location close to Devil's Fork. We have two couples and had plenty of room and washed clothes before we left. Such a wonderful getaway and went on Jocasee and swam under the waterfalls. I need to keep this quiet because I want to come back again and again and be able to book!
The cottage is lovely, quiet, secluded and in close proximity to lake Jocassee. It seemed like Michele thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We really enjoyed our time there :-)
Great place to stay and relax, cozy, owner communication was great! FYI if you have a large boat the driveway is steep, owner has chocks for wheels ready. Wouldn’t hurt to have an additional set. Will definitely visit again! God bless!
Beautiful property and setting!
We had a wonderful stay at this Lake Jocassee house. Very comfortable and clean, and incredibly close to the park entrance.
Clean, fresh, plenty of space, comfortable beds, ... everything was just what we needed. This property is located about a mile from Lake Jocassee's campground, where part of our family were camping, so we weren't far away. The back deck faces south/southeast over a wooded hollow where a dogwood tree was in full bloom and sunrises were beautiful through the trees. Michelle was a great host, providing clear information and more than just basic supplies. Internet worked great. The screened porch was wonderful for the one day we had rain. The park's convenience store is nearby, but a nice Ingle's grocery is about 14 miles away. Lake Keowee is not far away either. Michelle provided a SC park pass, so we felt free to roam. We hiked several nearby trails and loved the waterfalls on the trails and Lake Jocassee,
Wonderful stay for a family who would like to visit lots of the state parks. Nice property. Thoughtful hosts.
The property was very clean and could tell it was lovingly cared for. The owner had put out fresh flowers and and a welcome sign for us. There was nothing needed that could not be found in house for our use. The property was convenient to all sights. We did a private lake tour and did short hikes to numerous waterfalls. Would highly recommend this home and the owner was so easy to communicate with. Answered many of our questions and recommended a few restaurants.
Close to the state park. Host was welcoming. Definitely would stay again.
The online registration was quick, the owner responded quickly to all inquires, the cabin was spotlessly clean, well equipped and only 5 minutes from the boat ramp at Devils Fork SP. The cabin even supplied a park pass good for our stay. The only thing missing was a pizza cutter! We would like to stay here again. We were able to park our 22 foot boat and vehicle in the drive and had room left for a second vehicle.
Great location! Quiet and cozy!
Not a house in sight, not a sound but the animals! Michelle is the best! Location is great for the outdoor activities for the area, waterfalls, parks, lakes etc…….. A+. If your lookn for the city this ain’t it!!!!
If not for the problem of getting my husband up the hill I would rent this property again. But it was a little too hard for him to get around.
