Smithville, Tennessee
Escape to this modern, charming, updated space with plenty of hiking, boating, kayaking, and waterfalls nearby. Has all the amenities you need for a fun weekend with friends or family. Enjoy listening to live music just across the water at Fishlipz. There is also a boat ramp on the property, but I would not suggest larger boats or trailers to attempt to launch. Short walk down the hill to a gravel launch with plenty of area for desired activities, fishing, launching kayaks and small fishing boats.
The lake house is located directly across the lake from Fishlipz restaurant and Pates Ford Marina. The lake house features 3 bedrooms and two full baths with walk in showers. The home home also features an office space with a Queen upgraded gel memory foam mattress. In the summertime you can sit on the deck at night and listen to the live music across the lake. If you wanted to enjoy the music, great food and dancing in person, it is a short 25-minute drive to the marina by vehicle. There is also two kayaks and one large canoe for anyone to use while staying at the lake house. They are located under the deck of the lake house. We just ask that you leave them how you found them. You will want to bring your own life jackets if using the kayaks or canoe.
If you wanted to squeeze three more people in on top of the eight. There is also a double height self-inflatable queen and twin air mattress we just ask that these be used for children and that sheets are placed on them for sleeping. Again, we just ask that you leave them how you found them.
There are lots of waterfalls in the area and plenty of beautiful hiking trails. The lake house is about 11.5 miles from Burgess Falls State Park, 4 miles from Rock Island State Park and about 30 minutes from Greeter Falls, and about 25 minutes to Cummins Falls State Park.
There is also a golf at Smithville Golf Club and Sparta Golf Country Club both about 10-15 minutes away.
Pates Ford Marina also has boats for rent but call ahead of time to reserve. If you have a boat that you would like to bring there is plenty of room to park right in front of the lake house. We have added gravel to expand parking. We have a larger boat, and we just launch from Pates Ford Marina. Everyone is super friendly!!
Please be respectful and conscientious in regard to noise and conduct. Quiet time for the exterior is 10pm. Keep it classy please.
Also, starter supply of paper products will be provided. If you are booking a long stay, please bring additional supplies.
The house is super cute and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and tableware. We had all we needed to create a delicious thanksgiving meal. Check in was a breeze and there was never a need to contact anyone for help. The hostess sent a message the day before with all the necessary information for our trip. We enjoyed Rock island state park, which was a nearby hike with beautiful waterfalls. The house is out in the middle of nowhere, but that wasn’t an issue for us. We had a wonderful stay. It’d be nice to go back in warmer weather to enjoy the lake.
We stayed here two nights for a quick fall getaway. We visited Rock Island for some hiking along the Downstream Trail with ice cream at the Trolley Stop on the way back. We enjoyed grilling out at the cabin in the evenings. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and things we needed.
We were given the wrong access code and the owner would not respond for over an hour. It wasn’t until we called VRBO customer service and they said they would email her did the lock click and all of a sudden the code worked. The interior of the home was very nice, renovated and nicely furnished. One issue is there is no table so your family has nowhere to eat meals. Not pleasant even with us being all adults, it would be very bad with small children. The outside pictures on VRBO do not accurately represent the house’s surroundings. The pictures make it look like it is a private house with no close neighbors. In reality the house next to us was under 100 feet and the houses in front and back of us were also 100 feet from our house. The picture of the boat ramp makes it seem like it’s in your backyard when in reality it is not and the elevation to get to it is steep, at least a 150 feet incline. Not very accessible unless you have a vehicle or four wheeler.
Decorated nicely and very clean cabin. Would have liked it to have been closer to easier access to boat ramp and was very hard to get a 25 ft pontoon near cabin.
If I could give Stacey 10 stars, I would! She was awesome to work with and the house is adorable! Much nicer than most places we’ve stayed!! Very clean and perfect for my family and parrot! We would definitely recommend and we would welcome the opportunity to stay here again!! Thanks again Stacey!!
We had a great stay at this home. It was very clean and comfortable. Well decorated and supplied. I would definitely recomend.
I would give it a higher rating if I could. The only downside was walking into the house. Because of the rock that was just laid. But other than that country setting and very peaceful. Will definitely book again. Please enjoy your stay
