Adorable and bright lake house! Retro feel all the modern amenities

Very cozy lake home ad the view was beautiful! Nice peaceful location. The host responded quickly to our questions and was very helpful.

Enjoyed the lake setting

We came back to the area where I was raised to visit family, and this beautifully decorated lake home was the perfect spot to stay. It’s cozy, comfortable, and sits right on the lake—just what we needed for a peaceful escape.There are two great decks: the upper one is perfect for meals with a view, and the lower one is a great hangout spot for relaxing and catching up. It’s the kind of place where you can slip into quiet country life and leave the crowds behind.It’s an easy drive into Detroit Lakes if you’re looking for restaurants or shopping, but don’t overlook nearby Frazee—we were pleasantly surprised by a couple of great little restaurants there.The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the big fridge was super handy. We didn’t end up using the lake ourselves (it had a busy schedule with other family), but just sitting and looking out at it—especially at sunrise—was enough. The view in the early morning is absolutely stunning.The hosts were awesome—really responsive and helpful. We had a minor issue in the evening, and honestly didn’t expect a solution until the next day, but they got it sorted out right away.Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing, quiet lake getaway!

We absolutely loved the Outpost!! It was a beautiful location and a great lake! It was a quick drive to anything we wanted to do, but we mostly loved being at the house and the lake!

We thoroughly enjoyed our days up north at The Outpost on Wymer Lake! From submitting my rental request to checking into the property, Tracy was a dream to work with--responsive, thorough, friendly. The lakehome was perfect for our stay--comfy couches and beds, decks with good seating, spacious open floor plan in kitchen/dining/living areas, and fun retro decorations. The location on the lake afforded beautiful sunrises and peaceful surroundings. And we were close enough to Frazee and Detroit Lakes to do some exploring and troll hunting. All in all--FABULOUS!!I highly recommend staying at The Outpost and hope to return myself one day!

A great cabin on the lake; a really nice spot for many things - fishing, bird watching, leaf peeping. It is a bit of a steep walk down to the lake with steps, but worth it. Tons of great things to do in the area - state parks, shopping, restaurants, access to many lakes in the area etc... The cabin is set up very nicely with everything you would expect for cooking (except no grill), hanging out, and sleeping. It is very cute and comfortable. They are pet-friendly, which is nice to find, but it is not fenced. There are neighbors nearby on both sides and a small dock & deck on the lake. The deck at the cabin itself is a great spot. The owner is not in the area, but did stay in close contact with me by text, and quickly responded to questions/ concerns. We did have an issue upon check-in, but the owner resolved it quickly for us. Highly recommend for a family or small group. There are two bedrooms and some extra sleeping options.

The property was amazing. Very clean and inviting. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. The one thing I would change/add would be a firepit or a tabletop fire option. Also, don't try to go down to the water without accurate lighting. The way to the dock is dangerous...bad railing and steps were precarious as it is steep to the water.

The house felt like home for the few days we spent there. It was a great location to relax and unwind after a day of activity.
