Stayed Sep 22, 2025Connie, the host, was very responsive and pleasant. She definitely wanted to ensure that we had a nice stay. The house was cute and in a very nice, quiet, private location. The walk to the beach area/lake was even shorter than advertised and was a cute spot to fish or canoe. I am sure that it is a great swimming area - especially for young kids - during the summer months. The house is close enough for fun-filled day trips to North Conway or down the Kancamangus Highway. It is very close to Weston’s Beach on the Saco River - we would have loved tubing there in warmer weather. The only slight disappointments cane with the cleanliness of the house/set-up of the hot tub. There were some minor housekeeping issues when we arrived but Connie was quick to offer solutions. The hot tub water delivery was also delayed a day - unfortunately during the nicer weather portion of our trip - so we missed out on using it very much. All in all I really think those two issues were probably flukes. Connie seems to be a great host, the cabin and location are great, and we would stay again. We have a small, crate-trained, well-behaved dog and it is hard to find nice places to stay. Would definitely give the Hidden Moose another try (during better weather) the next time we are in the area.

Stayed Jun 21, 2025We had such a wonderful time at this A-frame! The location is perfect - tucked away about 10 minutes from town but still easily accessible, and just a short 5-minute walk to the pond. The house itself was spotless, which was especially impressive since it's pet-friendly. Honestly, you'd never know pets had stayed there - no lingering odors whatsoever. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. AC on both levels kept us cool during the warmer days, and we loved having two decks to choose from depending on our mood. The hot tub was definitely a hit with our family and was so relaxing on cooler evenings! Speaking of the pond, it's absolutely perfect for families with kids. The beach area makes it super easy to wade in, and the shallow water is ideal for little ones to splash around safely. We caught some great fish too, which was an unexpected bonus! I have to give major props to our host for their incredible responsiveness. When our propane tank ran out one evening, they somehow managed to get a replacement delivered within an hour - at 8 PM! This is pretty remote territory, so that level of service really impressed us.Just a couple of heads up for future guests: the indoor stairs are a bit narrow, so take your time going up and down. And definitely pack bug spray. That's just Maine in general, not specific to this property. The bugs weren't bad enough to spoil anything, just part of the authentic Maine experience! Overall we'd definitely stay again.

Stayed Mar 28, 2025Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this cabin with friends. However, there were some issues with cleanliness and the layout that made the cost feel high for what we got.With regards to cleanliness, the sheets on one of the beds smelled very strongly of mildew, like they'd sat in the washing machine too long, and there was a bag of dog poop by the stoop. But otherwise, it was tidy and pleasant.The space is small and intimate - I hadn't realized that to access one of the bedrooms, you have to walk through another bedroom. There's a curtain, not a door, between the rooms. So if your party isn't waking up and going to sleep all at the same time, or if someone snores, this might not be the place for you. More pictures or a layout map would've been helpful in advance.On the whole, it was pretty comfortable, but it didn't have the value I expected for the cost, and I don't think it would be right for more than two or three people.

Stayed Nov 27, 2024An absolute 10/10. The property was beautiful, exactly as shown in the photos. A very nice and very quiet area, the property was very clean and well maintained. Loved the hot tub, the fire place, and the overall vibe of the house. Host’s guide was very helpful and the recommendations for local dining were spot on. My wife and I are already planning a return stay, would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Stayed Nov 12, 2024It's true, there's a place that has a hot tub and allows dogs. Inside stairs may or may not be difficult for some dogs/people to manage. We will be looking to return probably either in the spring or summer.
