Our big mountain cabin was beautiful and comfortable. It was a peaceful respite on our cross country journey. Jude and Jen were most hospitable.

If you are searching for a property in South Dakota for the perfect “South Dakota vacation” stop scrolling now!! This place was the absolute perfect location to see Rushmore, the caves, Cosmos, bear country, 1880 train, and all of the surrounding parks and their features! We had everything we needed for our four day stay and the host were so great and easy to communicate with! Our six-year-old boy loved adventuring around the cabins and they even have a play area! It felt like a five minute drive to anywhere we needed to go! We will definitely be back!

Our family of 5, with 3 boys, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Everything was very clean & well stocked for our stay. The cabin is beautiful! Our boys really enjoyed the playground. The location is great for visiting Rapid City, Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Crazy Horse, the Black Hills, Custer, etc. We would love to come back one day!

Cabin and property is very clean and well-maintained. Clear communication with owners from beginning, especially in regard to steep, loose gravel, winding driveway (nothing a normal vehicle can't do). Beds were surprisingly super comfy with plenty of fluffy pillows! They are a bit high off the ground so beware for small children and elderly to help get in/out. We placed extra pillows on floor next to bed in case our youngest (2 yr old) would roll out of bed, but she never did. The small park area was also enjoyed by our 2 and 8 yr olds during some down-time at the cabin. The location is ideal for doing activities in Rapid City, Keystone, Custer or hitting the road to farther destinations. The self-ignite grill on the deck was perfect for evening grilling. Our only suggestions or things for awareness are: upgrade to auto-shut-off coffee pot (we accidentally forgot to shut it off one morning), upgrade to full-size fridge/freezer (we easily filled small fridge/freezer with items we brought along for a couple nights dinner/snacks for 4 adults and 2 kids, before grocery shopping), and provide another set of dishes/silverware/knives (we had to wash dishes after dinner prep in order to have enough dishes for everyone to eat off and have cooked food on). These suggestions are just our opinion from our experience, which was still GREAT, just offering some ideas for future investment/improvement.

Enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Sat out on the deck. Cabin was in great condition inside and out. King bed was very comfortable. Would stay again if we’re in the area. Visited Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, and Custer State Park. Saw Bison and the begging burrows. Host was great to work with.

The property was beautiful. The cabins clean and well decorated. Unfortunately the cabin (inside and out) were overrun with wasps. Our first night (we arrived late) had a single live wasp we found on the dinner table. The second day when we returned after a days sight seeing - we found eight (8) wasps flying in the cabin. We were worried about getting stung - especially our 8 year old grandson. The owners were unable to control/correct the situation - although they tried. They did not have any other units (ours was the most secluded) and we were forced to rent a hotel room in town. The owners refused to refund the second night of our stay and they gave us a can of wasp stay and wished us good luck, we dont control insects - they refused to take responsibility for an unsafe environment for a property they own. They just did not care - it was the last week of their rental season, and it showed - very poor service - worst we have had in decades of annual VRBO rentals in many states - beware. I am sure they would not have stayed and risked their kids/grandkids getting stung.

Jen is very responsive. We had a wonderful rejuvenating time at this well constructed cabin. Nice location for exploring the Black Hills and what it has to offer outdoor enthusiast. Prefect for early risers, gets bright fast in the mornings. Beds - super high, difficult to get up into if your short legged or have mobility issues (bad knees), next time I definitely will bring a step stool so getting in and out of bed will be so much easier during our next day

We have stayed at Silver Mountain Cabins before, and we loved it there! The property is so beautiful and clean! We love the location as it is close to all the places we love to go. It’s in the middle between Rapid City and Hill City. It’s close to Custer, Mount Rushmore, and Keystone. We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back!

The property is beautiful. The cabins are beautiful. Everything was great, until we left a day early. We rented the cabin until Monday morning, but because of school happening, we had to leave Sunday morning to be back home on time. As we were loading up the cat to leave, one of the steps of the deck broke. There was a knot in the middle of the step, and that's precisely where it broke. We had to keep going, so we finished packing up and left. We had the cabin rented until Monday morning anyway, so I waited to get down the road and get the kids situated before I messaged Jen. She texted me in the meantime. We are not only the owners of the cabin, but we built the cabins so we know how strong and sturdy our porches are, and buildings are. We clean after each guest so we know how clean and maintenance the cabin was before you came. Your complete disrespect for our property is unacceptable and you are not allowed to come back to our property. So I texted her back. Excuse me? Yes, the step broke this morning while we were loading up our car. It broke right on a knot. I took pictures of it so we could let you know. The knob on the bathroom window was broken when we got there. I have pictures of that too. We respected your property. Before we left, I washed dishes, cleaned the counters, cleaned the bathroom, put all the bedding on the pile, put all the towels on a pile trying to make it easier for you. So what exactly did we do to disrespect your property? Never got a reply.
