Other Things to Note:

What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

I liked that my whole family could be together. There was a problem with the lock box. They were there shortly after we called and got it fixed. Excellent place to stay.

Property itself is beautiful and there is lots of room to sit down relax and enjoy. We had trouble every day getting the cabin key code box to work, we did let them know this. Basement had a lot of ants and spiders so we kept our luggage off of the floors, we also contacted them on this issue. There is no dishwasher as they have stated, so they rely on the renters to wash any dishes used and it is obvious that not everyone is good at washing and cleaning dishes. The main floor bed is very high and you will need to use the steps provided to get into bed, also the main floor bedroom mattress is very much in need of replacement as you will roll to the middle of the bed or sleep at an angle if you can. Upstairs when you turn on one light it does not light up but the other one across the room will come on with that other lights switch...odd so we just left those lights off. I would recommend bringing some night lights for each bedroom you plan to use. When we came to leave we discovered that the outside garbage container they wanted us to put our garbage into was already full. So we called them and got an answer on what to do. They were very pleasant on the phone and helped us.

The house was as described and like the pictures. The only complaint was the mattress in the primary bedroom desperately needs to be replaced.

We had a wonderful stay. The home is very spacious and very comfortable for our two families. A 40 minute drive to the West Entrance. The open floor plan was airy and well lit with a nice view of the surrounding forest. The front deck is a relaxing space to enjoy any time of day. It is a little way up some dirt roads. We had a moose and her calf pass by one afternoon. However, we did not see Sasquatch.

Great cabin! Much bigger than the pictures show. Great location on a dead-end road. Great value for the size and location of this cabin. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This property is truly a gem. It's on almost 2 acres of trees and in a quiet area. The balcony made for lovely cups of coffee and bbqs. Note the only TV is in the basement, which was not ideal for my mother in law that can not do many stairs. The kitchen is extremely well stocked (much much better then most) w the exception of desperately needing new pots. The basement main bedroom bed was bouncy & uncomfortable and the pillows were quite full for anything but side sleeping. The upstairs loft has some cute cubbies for kids to rest or play in and kitchen has a high chair There were toys, books, games and puzzles. I am also pretty sure I saw a pack & play in one of the closets downstairs for those traveling w kids. The driveway is a semi steep pull through with plenty of room for our 2 trucks and flatbed trailers. Nice couches with a large family room on main and basement floor. We would definitely stay here again, bring our own pillows and try out the master bed on the main floor since my in laws used it this time. I bet it's gorgeous in the snow!
