Topton, North Carolina
This luxury lakefront home is nestled in the Smoky Mountains on Lake Nantahala in beautiful North Carolina. The two-story home features lake views from all rooms as well as covered decks on both levels. There is a great room on each level and a game room with ping pong and air hockey tables. A gradual terrain walkway leads to a floating boat/swim dock. Boat rentals are available at a nearby marina or you can bring your own boat and dock it at the house.
Lake Nantahala is the second highest lake east of the Mississippi River and is beautiful in the Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. Lake Nantahala was mentioned as one of the top ten cleanest man made lakes in the world. And because only five percent of its shoreline can be built out, the lake is not crowded and you'll enjoy the true beauty of the lake and mountains.
The Nantahala area is popular for whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, camping, fishing, mountain hiking and biking and snow skiing. The Cherokee Indian Reservation & Casino is also located nearby.
Additional features of the home: two stone fireplaces, satellite TVs, DVDs, stereo with deck speakers, CD player, gas grill, phone, air conditioning, full kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, two refrigerators, ice maker, cooking utensils, linens, washer and dryer, jetted tub in main bath, two king beds, one queen and bunk room that sleeps six.
It is our goal to make sure you have a wonderful vacation. We include in our detailed rental package a listing of area activities and phone numbers so you can plan before you leave home. We are happy to answer any questions regarding the area so you get the most out of your vacation!
Really nice lakefront property in the mountains. The host was also really nice and responsive, we enjoyed our stay plenty.
Summer vacation for myself, my husband and 4 boys (21, 18 and 13x2). Property was better than photos and descriptions! Appreciated garage space to store mountain bikes we brought for Tsaili trails. We were impressed with the extensive collection of DVDs. As noted, wifi is good for basic email/text, but not streaming or calling. It was the perfect internet detox! All beds were comfortable, as were sofas. Bathrooms, kitchens and supplies were well stocked. There is only 1 large casserole baking dish, so if you are planning to cook a lot or for many, bring another. You should also bring nonbreakable/plastic drinking cups for outside. Tammy was an amazing host ensuring we had info ahead of arrival and while onsite. We would definitely stay here again!
We loved our week at Sweet Serenity! This is a house designed for a group or extended family! Loved having the game area downstairs, gorgeous views from the deck, a great dock in a quiet cove, an extra fridge and grill with gas line so we didn’t need to leave all week! Really responsive and friendly owner, and property was very clean, well-stocked, and in great condition.
General feedback On day one we had a few hiccups getting settled, but the hosts graciously and appropriately made accommodations to remedy the situation. Overall, the house was exactly what we had expected. Each room was appropriately appointed and in good condition. The grandkids enjoyed the game tables on the lower level. Access to the lake was convenient and the dock was a great place for swimming. The firepit was a highlight. We enjoyed the decks and the view of the lake. Constructive Suggestions Label lights switches in family and kitchen area. Lubricate the door locks. The kitchen could use a few more towels and washcloths. The laundry room could use some laundry baskets. Screens needed for windows. Repair screen door in Master bedroom. Need a better way to adjust the speed on the ceiling fans. Ensure house phone works. Need more towel racks and hooks in bathrooms and laundry room. The garage refrigerator is on GFI circuit, which unexpectedly trips and turns off the refrigerator. Food can get destroyed. Thermostats are difficult to adjust. Had a rain puddle in the living room area between the cabinet and the sofa that faces the fireplace after a rain. First floor bedroom off the foyer had a big hole in the ceiling, evidently from rain. Weeds need to be controlled in the garden area, as they are taking over the beautiful garden. Lighting along the path could be updated.
The property and owners are amazing. This is our second year staying in this home and we booked next summer before we left. Can’t wait to return.
The accommodations were wonderful. We had plenty of room & the views were amazing! The owner was so helpful all along the way.
This place was amazing! So much room and so peaceful. The lake is beautiful, and the dock is so much bigger than we thought. We had an awesome stay!
It was a great time and the whole family enjoyed themselves!
This cabin was perfect size and layout was great for our family of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids-6 months to 9 years old.). I love to cook for our family and the kitchen was nicely stocked with lots of pots, pans, skillets and small appliances used in any type meal preparation. We took all groceries needed on our trip in since it is at least a 30 minute drive to a grocery store. Family went hiking on the neighborhood roads and went down to the lake. We built a fire and had s’mores. The kids loved sharing the bunk room. I would highly recommend this property for a visit in the mountains! Tammie was excellent with communication about the property, booking, and checkout! I would rent this property again if visiting this area in the future.
This was a fantastic getaway for our family! We truly enjoyed the views, all the fun things for the kids, and it was the perfect distance for the drive to polar express in Bryson city. The owners are extremely responsive and friendly. Highly recommend for a cozy getaway!
Love the place and all the cleaningnes overall great experience definitely will recommend it
Family time is the best especially when you have a great place to stay. This house had plenty of room to spread out or come together in the great room. The grandkids loved the ping pong table and air hockey table. We very much enjoyed our long weekend and wished we could have stayed longer.
Lots of room with great amenities! Located right on the lake (you can skip leg day at the gym after going up and down the stairs to the lake)! Great communication with Tammie and she was eager to make our stay a good one! Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay here!
The home was beautiful as was the property. It was myself, parents, brother and his family all adults but a group in the end of 7 and we all fit comfortably. It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to coming back.
We love Lake Nantahala and this home was the perfect location to make it a great vacation.
Tammy was very easy to work with and the home is very comfortable for a family of 10. Air hockey and ping pong were an added bonus.
We had a great week on the lake and loved the property! Tammi was great in all her communications and the property was terrific.
We stay here every year and Tammi is awesome! We always have a great time and the house is perfect for us. Couldn’t be happier when we come here.
There were 12 family members and enjoyed our time together. There was plenty of refrigerator room and cupboard space for everything we brought. The house was handicap friendly but the path to the dock and fire pit was not. Just be aware that there are 3 1/2 miles on the twisty gravel road to get to the beautiful home. If you want a place for quiet relaxation this would be the place for you.
The home and lake were just what we needed to relax and recharge. It’s a wonderful home in an amazing setting. Rent a boat to get the most of this location.
Our second stay at this home. Perfect for our needs. Had a wonderful time. Thanks.
