Summary:

Homesteaded in 1940, this beautifully restored mountain cabin is tucked into the hills of the Historic Ute Pass located midway between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park.

The home has been modernized for today’s conveniences but has maintained so much of its original rustic charm.

The setting is what you dream of when you envision a Colorado Mountain Log Cabin; the views of the Big Blue Sky, the Rolling Mountain Range and the Cascade of Evergreensand Aspen Trees that surround you.

The Space:

This is a cabin you will never want to leave! When you think of vacationing in Colorado, why not do it the way it should be done! An authentic and beautifully restored 1940’s log cabin, slipped between the evergreens and perched in the mountain range of the Historic Ute Pass. The home, the setting and the views will take your breath away!

Even when the day’s adventures are over, Cowboy Cabin will continue to infuse you with the spirit of the region.

When you arrive, you can pull into the upper stone driveway and follow the stepping stones to the original front door. This log home will ‘have you’ from the moment you enter!

The kitchen has been updated with granite counters, stainless appliances and stocked with all the essentials you need to feast and celebrate with friends and family. You can sip a cup of coffee from the parsons table in the kitchen, enjoy your meals on the outdoor dining set complete with party lights or simply be grateful for a traditional meal at the indoor dining table while taking in the incredible views!

The living room, which is open to the dining space, takes you back in time with interior wood logs, traditional chinking, pitched ceiling, log beams and a hand placed stone fireplace. The sky lights add a little brightness to the cabin and make for the very best star gazing late at night! There are two big picture windows for you to enjoy the beautiful mountain views that make you feel as though you are always in ‘The Great Outdoors.’ Enjoy the comfort of this room as you snuggle into the ample over- sized buttery, weathered sofa, love seat and ‘nap sized’ arm chair.

There are three bedrooms in this cabin, and two bathrooms. Bedroom #1 has its own entrance and a private walk out to the back upper deck. It features a king size bedroom, lots of closet space and cozy bedding. And, just for fun, a wood burning stove with a brick surround to make you feel like you are resting in the forest! It’s just to enjoy, so no wood required!

Next, is the second bedroom that has 2 twin beds and a full, updated bathroom. This is a fun room with a little more cowboy theme, perfect for kids or kids at heart. It has plenty of space, original hard wood floors and two big windows.

And, the third bedroom is on the other side of the cabin. It has a Queen size bed, lots of pillows and blankets, beautiful windows and an updated bathroom with a walk- in shower. This room is nicely decorated to make you feel both cozy and serene.

For your convenience, this cabin also has a full-size washer and dryer located in a hidden nook at the far end of the kitchen.

The front yard has such a peaceful mountain feel with the stone steps, rolling hills and mature trees. You can enjoy your time here with an iced tea or lemonade as you relax on the spacious patio dining set. In the back, there are a few areas to enjoy and explore. Take off and walk the grounds if you are feeling energetic as there is so much to see in the mountains. Or relax on the upper deck and enjoy the mountain range views. If you have small kiddos with you, you may even like the lower level fenced area where you can relax and play.

Wherever you choose to relax, we promise you will fall in love with the picturesque views that surround you.

This property is managed by a local vacation rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review. Browse our pictures, ask us anything, and book today!

Guest Access:

A private access code to the entire home is given upon booking. The front door has an easy to use and secure Yale smart lock.

The Neighborhood:

Cascade is a mountain town that’s been delighting tourists to the Rockies for over 140 years. This is where the Pikes Peak Highway originates, traveling to the summit of Pike’s Peak, a/k/a “America’s Mountain.” Cascade is situated northwest of Colorado Springs, ideally located to provide easy access to the entire spectrum of regional attractions, from outdoor adventures (including hiking, rafting, ziplining, hunting, fishing and fossil hunting), to natural wonders like the 300-foot-tall rock towers of the Garden of the Gods, to the urbane pleasures of Colorado Springs (a 24-minute drive) including shopping, dining, art galleries and more. You’re quite literally surrounded by trails, canyons and parks.

Right in town you’ll find Cascade Community Park where the Heizer trail leads to nearby waterfalls. Young children will love North Pole Colorado, a Christmas-themed amusement park, just a 10-minute drive from the cabin. The town of Cascade offers casual dining options, and a 10-minute drive to Woodland Park presents plentiful dining and shopping options, including supermarkets and familiar chain retailers if needed.

Getting Around:

We recommend that you have a car when traveling to this destination as Uber, Lyft and public

transportation are not as plentiful in the mountain regions.

If your reservation is in the Fall or Winter season please know that a 4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended in case Mother Nature decides to share some snow. The roads can be slick even after the plows go by so be cautious during winter weather.

Other Things to Note:

While we don’t have onsite management, we will take care of any and all requests ASAP as we care about your stay!

We require a refundable hold of $1000 on your card for damages (released after checkout) OR you can opt out with a small fee of $50 by purchasing a damage waiver coverage to stay insured throughout your stay.

AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 21 years old. We cannot accommodate guests who do not meet this age requirement unless prior approval has been granted by us before check-in.

The average summer temperature in the mountains stays mild but we also offer

air conditioning. Our mornings and evenings are always cool, so to keep the cost of stays reasonable, and to enjoy the fresh mountain air, we ask, when you are able, turn off the AC and simply open the windows for a wonderful cross breeze and to enjoy the fresh mountain

air.

The fireplace in the living is for aesthetic purposes only, fires are not allowed.

Please review the sleeping arrangements prior to booking.

Please keep all trash secure in the bins.

Do not leave any trash out overnight for your safety and the surrounding active wildlife in the area.

NO Dog Policy This property maintains a no-pet policy for the comfort and convenience of all our guests.

The TV offers streaming services only for guests to use their subscriptions. Just don't forget to log out!

We provide fresh sheets, towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and essentials like shampoo, soap, toilet paper etc. - Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit.

Quiet Hours begin at 10:00pm per city ordinance. Please be courteous of the neighbors during your stay.

We cannot guarantee an early check-in, as we need time to make sure this property is perfect for you before your stay! Please check with us on the day of your arrival to see if the property will be ready early.

Because the damage waiver fee is Non-Refundable. If a Guest changes properties for any reason they may be charged a new damage waiver fee for the new property at the discretion of the property Manager. Please be advised that we ask all guests to complete our secure, online guest verification portal after your reservation is created. Similar to hotels requiring photo ID upon check-in, we ask that guests provide a copy of their Government Issued ID, matching selfie and credit card to verify identity. This is used to prevent fraudulent reservations, identity verification and for the safety of all guests and homes. We take data security very seriously. All information entered on this form is encrypted and transmitted securely over SSL. **By completing the reservation, you agree to the following: I agree to be bound by our rental terms and conditions. I acknowledge that I will be required to provide a copy of a valid government issued ID and matching credit card through our online portal prior to check in.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The cabin was very nice, clean, and perfect for our family. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and made our family nights extra special. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The Host of this property is so unprofessional and do not get back to you when you have any concerns about the property. They are also FALSE advertising this property by showing you two fireplaces in the pictures but then 24 hours before your stay, they send an email telling you that you aren’t allowed to use them. (You can’t use a fireplace in December at a mountain cabin, that’s odd). 2 weeks before my stay I asked where I could get firewood and the host gave me a list of 3 places to get it. Never ONCE did they mention we weren’t allowed to use the fireplaces!!! I wasn’t told until the welcome email came the night before my flight. They wait until you have no other choice but to keep the reservation because now it’s too late to cancel. The pictures here do not depict the “do not use our fireplace” signs that they have sitting in each room. They took those down before taking pictures of the cabin. They also give you mis-information when checking in. One paper tells you to park by the garage and another paper tells you to park in front of the cabin. Email tells you to put trash out on Monday when trash day is on Tuesday. There are dirty pots/pans/dirty plates hidden in drawers underneath kitchen towels. There are not many kitchen utensils. No measuring cup, measuring spoons, scissors etc. (and you aren’t down the street to any stores)This experience was a nightmare and I have YET to hear back from the host regarding my experience. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Pete was working on the driveway when we arrived and recommended a couple of area restaurants we might like. Our cabin was clean, well-cared for, good WI-FI (never turned TV on so can't speak to that.) Loved that there was a container of ground coffee for us to partake of next to coffee pot in kitchen! We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with coffee in the mornings. There were plenty of warm blankets in each bedroom and we didn't run out of hot water in the shower. :} Thanks bunches! Deb

The property manager pretty much left it up to us to provide our own warmth the first night that got down to 43 degrees. The furnace did not work and they did not send anyone out until the next day. We had to go to Walmart and purchase a room heater. We asked for a reduction in price for the first night and was told they would get pack to us and we never heard back. The cabin was fine but the property manager should do more to make sure everything is in working condition so that the renter does not have to scramble around on their trip finding heaters.
