Other Things to Note:

What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

This cabin is in great location and is exactly as described in the listing. The kitchen is well appointed and the appliances are fantastic. I loved the way everything is well marked for visitors. It is such a comfortable home I would highly recommend. Instructions are so clear and that is always a good thing. As an added bonus the nearby store is amazing. Thanks so much for the great stay.

We loved the home! We used 3 of the 4 bedrooms. The kitchen and whole house was well supplied, i.e. utensils, plates, pots, blankets, fans. We would definitely stay there again.

The rustic cabin was clean specious, and had a convenient location. Gas, groceries and food are all within a mile. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded. Make sure to drive a vehicle capable of maneuvering off road situations.

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! My husband, myself, our 2 little kids, my friend, his wife, and their 3 little kids stayed here for 3 nights. There were 4 good sized rooms, one of which had 2 queen sized beds in it. There was also a pack-and-play in one of the closets that came in useful. The family room in the loft had gaming consoles, games, books, and toys, as well as a large comfy sectional to sit on. The balcony was super cute. There was a new washer and dryer onsite, and other really awesome touches like a kitchen with all sorts of pans, griddles, cups, plates, utensils, bowls, measuring cups, etc. We loved the tupperware plates and cups! The diningroom had a large table and plenty of chairs for everyone. Every room had it's own thermostat, so making sure the kids were warm and my husband cool was no problem at all. The place was fully stocked with blankets and towels. There was a cute little store/gas station a few minutes away that had all of the essentials and some groceries. The kids also enjoyed running around outside and we saw a herd of deer right next to the cabin. It was super close to the west Yellowstone entrance. It was all around the perfect basecamp for our joint family trip! We also loved reading about the history of the cabin and seeing pictures of the family that owns the place. WiFi was good, check-in was a cinch, there were plenty of outlets so we could keep things charged. All around great experience, cozy and roomy cabin, we absolutely want to book it again!

Had a wonderful time. My only complaint was that the road leading to the home had a lot of holes and dips; drive cautiously. Other than that, I highly recommend staying here; I hope we will again someday.

This cabin is very nice inside. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. BBQ is great (but push button starter didn’t work). A little hard to find - keep driving until you see the cabin as it is pictured in the listing. Heat controls in each room were great - allowed everyone their own comfort level. And lots of HOT water for everyone’s showers! Also, the grocery store nearby was quite well stocked and not too pricey.
