Other Things to Note:

What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

Great location and the spacious cabin was very clean and well furnished. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The hot tub is a HUGE bonus after a day of hiking. Nothing negative to say!

It was a beautiful house and had comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. It could use a few more pillows because we use a couple as body pillows but my husband just used a blanket instead. There was only one washcloth in the bottom restroom but there were some upstairs but I don't know how many. There were so many people staying upstairs I didn't want to take from what they had. It would be great if they would leave more washcloths downstairs though. The house was gorgeous and so was the neighborhood. The hot tub was great. The house did have a few quirks though. The garbage disposal button is in a weird spot in The front of the sink where you easily accidentally hit it a lot so be careful. The fan lights worked with remotes which took a minute to figure out. The one upstairs wouldn't turn off. I would have told the owners but my friend didn't tell me that until the last day when I was trying to turn all the lights off in the house. I did tell them about it when leaving though. The bathroom light upstairs is outside of the bathroom. The grill outside doesn't work right from what my friend told me. There's a spot that doesn't get hot and the flames don't go very high. They had a lot of trouble cooking steaks for Father's Day. Also, if you use the fire pit there are instructions to look for a hose but there was no hose anywhere to be seen. We just took a pitcher of water out there. In spite of the little quirks, it was a wonderful place to stay and I would stay again.

The cabin is perfect. There were just the two of us, but there’s plenty of room for families. There’s a grocery store around the corner , as well as gas. The cabin has rustic touches, with modern conveniences. Would definitely stay again.

We arrived at the cabin after spending a 8 days exploring Mesa Verde, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, where we had done our share of hiking up and down those beautiful places. We were ready to relax and Burley Bear was perfect. The place is so very comfortable. Hot tub was amazing and, having the fireplace, relaxing in the leather recliners with my bride was ✅! The kitchen was stocked better than most VRBO sites we’ve stayed in. The bed and bathroom were very comfortable as well. We wished we’d had more time to rent and explore the nearby forest on the 4 wheelers available for guests. This place will accommodate 9 people easily. Hope to bring the family back at a later time.

We stayed at the end of the 2023 Yellowstone season in October 2023. The cabin is a great place to stay and in a location that is not too far from the West Yellowstone entrance station. The cabin is well equipped and ready to sleep a large number of people. Communication with management was easy and they were responsive to all questions.

Comfortable cozy home, hot tub soaks were wonderful after a full day of exploring Yellowstone NP and Grand Tetons NP. If we had known that Tetons NP was close enough to do as a day trip we would not had made a reservation for one night in Tetonia, but it was too late to cancel. I would have preferred to stay at Burly Bear cabin with the great bed and private hot tub
