22STR-00367 Fairplay Cabin ~ 6 Mi to Downtown!

Such a beautiful Cabin and beautiful area! The host is so kind! Sadly we only got to stay one night due to Altitude Sickness so just do your research and be aware. Also make sure you have a AWD or 4x4 cause you’ll most definitely need one! The host does make that very clear in the property description. Anyway I really wish we could have stayed the full weekend cause it’s so amazingly beautiful and so cozy! Love love loved the cabin and the views from the cabin!

Cozy cabin exactly as described. Cabin is tastefully decorated, furnishings are comfortable and pantry is well stocked. The porch was excellent entertainment for our 2 yr old Grandson. The only issue we encountered, which has nothing to do with the cabin, is the mountain road. Take it nice and slow or you’ll need an alignment

The problem here is an owner trusts a company and pays them to take care of all these things for them. My opinion this cabin wasn’t cleaned well at all. Cob webs all over the lights, walls, and ceilings. Feces were found under the seats of all 3 toilets, and a few smalls ants and bugs were seen in multiple rooms. This isn’t the owners fault, they pay someone to do these things. The road to get there from FairPlay or Alma is ridiculous and without doubt the worst road I’ve been on in 20 plus years. If been to Iraq and Afghanistan and this one was still worse. This is a county problem, taking a grater or plow and being ignorant with it, washboarded almost the entire road out. I wouldn’t pay a dime of taxes until someone got off their lazy back sides and fixed that. Not only will it beat you half to death, it’s dangerous. It will “grab” tires and pull you side to side. In some areas that is a few feet from straight down a very large and steep mountainside. Lastly the listing on this is off, it says in the beginning of it that it has central AC, it will also come up on VRBO app when you filter for only cabins with AC. It doesn’t have AC, and later if you read way down in the listing it states it doesn’t have it. Well when someone reads in the first few lines what they are searching for and it filtered that way, I don’t believe it’s on the renter to keep looking for someone’s error. The neighbors are always home, so if you’re wanting privacy and quiet, won’t find it here.

This is a beautiful home on the mountain with great views. The house is very clean and organized along with beautifully decorations. They have prepared everything you need, super great host, we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

The views, from the road, on the trail and from any window in this house are simply magnificent! My wife and I chose to spend our anniversary here. We were not disappointed. The house was immaculate. We look forward to returning.

It is a very beautiful spot. Getting to and from anywhere could be considered very dangerous. Nothing to do with the property but the roads were not very clear during our stay.

Nice place

The cabin was clean and enjoyable. We had a 4 day reservation. Due to the elevation we had one emergency room visit and a grandson come down with elevation sickness. Due to an icy hill we had to put on and take off wheel chains. Putting on and taking off wheel chains was no fun. We only spent one night at the cabin and had to evacuate to a lower elevation for the next 3 nights. It was unfortunate we experienced the illnesses. If visiting in the winter make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle or chains. Also, be sure to condition for the elevation.

We made a short trip and hit the timing perfect for snow play. The cabin was warm and comfy and clean . The kitchen had everything we had forgotten to bring and made it feel like home. We had a couple feet of snow and the kids loved sledding down the drive way. Will be back to this cabin very soon.
