Nice place to live (self catering type) but a slop hill of about 25m to walk through if on foot. With 7 day pass, it is easy to travel to Boston city about 40mins. Nearby, get restaurants and 7-11. It is a good place (cost effective) to stay for my Boston marathon and walk around Boston.

The room was spotless, very spacious, lovely kitchen and bathroom all as luxurious as a 5 star hotel. The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in! Nice quiet neighbourhood with restaurants a quick walk away. Charles the host was extremely helpful and swift in responding to any requests, including helping with luggage storage and going the extra mile and carrying it down the stairs. Would highly recommend!

Gorgeous place, great neighborhood; we'd stay there again. We had a little trouble checking in - I don't have a smartphone, and so sending instructions via email wasn't helpful. But we got that straightened out and it all worked out well.

Very precise and clear instructions for check in check out. The home is lovely and the room was a great size and well appointed. I had everything I needed. The kitchen and living rooms looked great although I didn’t t spend any time in them. Would recommend and visit again!

Charming place in a good area. Price very reasonable considering it's Boston. Shared bathroom and kitchen etc but we seemed to be there on our own. Construction made it difficult in the morning soundwise but no fault of owner and it is a city Would recommend.

A wonderful house in a great neighborhood. Warm, welcoming, and a touch of whimsical! The comforter in the Pistachio room had magical powers on this chilly February weekend and we really enjoyed the common space too.

Pros: very clean, nice place to stay. Kitchen is well-equipped, bed was comfortable. Excellent decor, spacious.Other: for a 4 night stay, I was provided one bath towel and one disposable sponge, no washcloth, which is really odd. I went to Target to buy a 6-pack for 3. There are quite a few steps to climb to get to the front door, then more steps to the second story.Communication was ok.All in all, Charles was nice and helpful. I'd consider staying again!

Good experience. My only suggestion would be some type of outside light. We arrived at night and area is very dark.

The communication with the host about parking was not very clear. I have trouble walking, and the host suggested that I should park at the bottom of a very steep hill. I drove around for an out an hour to try to find a better option. After speaking to a neighbor I was told that you can park on the street next to the house for free. Not sure why the host never suggested this? Also either I misread the property description or it was not listed that I would have to climb a lot of very steep and narrow stairs to get to the property. And as I mentioned before, I have some difficulty walking. But I made it work.My reservation was also for two people and there was only one towel and one sponge left in my room for a shower. And a SPONGE? No wash cloths. Strange. After requesting more towels, the host said we would be charged 10 PER TOWEL. after explaining that we had only received one towel the day before, he waved the fee. Which was nice. The bathroom was very nice. It had a nice patio outside. Has a vintage feel. Kitchen was nice. Room didn’t have AC, wasn’t aware of that upon booking, but they provided a fan in the closet. Which was fine. Not a bad stay, not completely upset. But I think the 10 towel charge is ridiculous and lack of communication about parking is unacceptable.

Awe, I was there for a bittersweet reason, memorial for dear lifelong friend… the solitude and calm of this place was just what I needed while I attended this important event… and on a brighter note, I got together with old friends and celebrated a beautiful life. I guess the ole saying lemons into lemonade. But, in the end, I had a glorious time in this beautiful home with its very kind and generous proprietor Charles, what a gentle, genuine and sweet man who was very attentive, down to earth and helpful. Everything was perfect. I felt like I’m staying with a family or friends. I’ll go back in a heartbeat to that place. Great location with great people! I loved every room I saw, was such beautiful place inside and outside…. just as pleasant as it could be. Close to everything in center in Brighton and not far from Brookline or Boston for that matter I will definitely go back in a heartbeat… Looking forward to my next visit!!! Thank you again Charles for a delightful and memorable stay!!!

It was a lovely room in a lovely home. Charles, the host, was very helpful and responsive. The patio was very private. It is like sitting in a tree house. Everything was impeccably clean. We would definitely return to this home should we return to the Boston area.

I had a great stay in the Pistachio Room at the TPH property—it was exactly as described. The photos were accurate, and the room itself, painted a soothing pale green, was cozy and inviting. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shared bathroom was conveniently located just outside the door. The neighborhood felt safe, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. I appreciated having access to laundry facilities if needed, and the check-in process was super smooth and consise thanks to excellent communication with the host.Parking can be a bit tricky since it’s a residential area in the city, but there are several bus routes nearby in Oak Square at the bottom of the hill. Just be prepared for a bit of a workout—the uphill walk is steep! It's also close to the Mass Pike (I-90), which is convinient if you are driving.Overall, this was a fantastic alternative to the pricey hotels in and around the city. I'd definitely recommend it!

Comfortable and Clean room with shared living, bathroom, and kitchen. Stayed over Christmas, located a short walk to the bus stop to the train station to downtown. Saw the Lights Display and Bruins Game, love Boston! Advice: bring a pair of slippers since hosts asked for no shoes into the space.

It was wonderful! Nice, quiet, cozy & clean! Close enough to the freeway & city to get around but far enough away from the city where you get a nice, homey feel. Definitely would recommend to anyone with a spouse/significant other for a nice, relaxing getaway.

It was in a nice neighborhood with some great little restaurants within walking distance and a handy 7-11. There was a very nice little Italian restaurant called From Scratch. Great foos and service. We had a car and could be downtown Boston in 15-20 minutes. Be warned, it has quite a few steps up to the room if you’re lugging a heavy suitcase up. The shared kitchen was very well equipped ( I loved the toaster! You’ll see if you stay there). We shared a bathroom with another room which is OK until you desperately want to use it and someone is having a shower in the middle of the night! By the way, the bathroom is very nice and modern. We both loved the shower. The bed for us wasn’t the most comfortable. We kept sinking in the middle to each other. The duvet was super heavy and thick. OK on a super cold night but it was quite warm in Boston. The deck off of the kitchen was very nice to sit out and have a glass of wine in the evening after sightseeing which we did with some other guests. We walked down the street in the mornings to have breakfast outside at the Glasser coffee shop. Great food and cheap. Parking on the street is allowed. It is a non-permit parking area. We had no trouble parking our car close to the house. I’m not sure why Charles says you can park free on the square, you can park free on the street! I tried to get Charles to clarify this but did not get a clear response. I got an answer from neighbors walking their dog. Overall a good stay.
