New Orleans, Louisiana
The Laurel is a one-suite bed and breakfast with private bath, sunroom and private gated entry located in the heart of Mid-City. The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the Endymion Mardi Gras Parade are both a 10-minute walk away. The French Quarter and Central Business District are just a 10-minute drive away. There is a bus stop and the street car line within walking distance (5 minutes) which runs to both of these destinations. It is in a residential neighborhood and is only a 5-minute walk to City Park and The New Orleans Museum of Art.
There are two cats who reside at the Laurel, Billy & Koshka (from Russia!).
We offer a continental breakfast of croissants, muffins, assorted pastries, orange juice, coffee/tea. Special requests for non-cooked items are welcomed (yogurt, cereal, etc).

The home is a beautiful 2-story stucco structure with a red Spanish tile roof. It is architecturally unique and interesting with its arched doorways and doors. The original structure is intact with very few changes to the original design. There are original wood floors and ceramic tiles which have been beautifully restored. The long center hallway serves as the perfect photo gallery for Eliot's photos.
The raised front porch and the front courtyard-style patio is wonderful and a great place to just sit and do nothing. The corner lot offers a beautiful view of the peaceful surroundings of the neighborhood.
Guests can enjoy City Park's Museum of Art, botanical gardens and new walking park.
Laura and Eliot Kamenitz have owned and resided in their home since May 1995. They are the fifth and current owners of this 1924 raised cottage-style house. Laura is a retired Chemical Engineer and Eliot is a retired professional Photographer.

This is a beautiful property with a private entrance and everything you need. It's in a fairly quiet location but close to bus and streetcar stops. The host is fantastic. I would absolutely stay here again if I'm in the area!
Loved the location and neighborhood. Nice and specious with plenty of privacy. Yummy breakfast and very helpful and attentive owners!
The property is in the City Park area. We walked to the Park for a wedding/reception. Totally safe area. Quiet, little traffic and neighborhood nice. Totally recommend. Streetcar access is close. Laura told us how to access it and we had no trouble. Property is lovely.
Liked the character of the property. The property is about 100 years old. Very clean! Laurel gave us great ideas on things to do in the area and is a great hostess.
Laura was an excellent host! This was my first time staying at a B&B. I was nervous about it because I am sort of a germaphobe, but Laura really made this an awesome experience! We had our own super clean area with a bathroom and a sitting area. In there was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. I will always remember this trip!
Laura was such a wonderful host. She was very knowledgeable about NOLA. She gave us great ideas about food and fun. Great experience and a beautiful property.
Great location close to trolly. Tastefully decorated.
I loved our stay here. A beautiful property and fantastic hosts!
We went to NOLA to see a musician that I love. My wife found this VRBO spot. It was not in the French Quarter, so it was quiet and away from the crowds...but only about 10 minutes from the Quarter. There are a lot of cool restaurants and clubs near by. Walking distance to the streetcar line. The proprietors were very nice and talked to us during breakfast. It's not a full on hot breakfast, but it is fresh pressed coffee and we had fresh croissant and muffins from a local bakery. It was nice. We had a private entrance to use to the house. If you're looking for a nice place to stay, away from the tourists, I would highly recommend the Laurel.
The room and property are beautiful! Laura was incredible, very friendly, helpful, and fun to talk with. Will absolutely stay again!
Laura was an excellent host. Shes friendly and gives great recommendations on places to see and things to do. Would definitely stay here again.
Our hostess was excellent. She gave us spot on insights.

Laura was a great host! I loved our own private entry and that our area had its own sun room. The breakfast was amazing! I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet and private place.
In the City Park area. Nice and quiet. Great BBQ and walking just around the corner. Very accommodating hosts. Nice place. Would stay again.
Laura and Elliot are the best hosts imaginable. They make you feel like family and go out of their way to make sure your stay in New Orleans is memorable. Their home has amazing character and style and the neighborhood is beautiful with breathtaking trees. All the neighbors are so friendly as well. Both Rod and I's favorite thing, for our first time in New Orleans, was staying at their bed and breakfast. And lets not forget their adorable fur babies.
We have stayed here before. Great location, close too city park and trolley cars.
Lovely home full of fun treasures. Laura was a gracious and accommodating hostess. Nice, safe neighborhood, within walking distance to several dining options. Central location made ride share options a breeze.
Laura was an excellent host. She was super accommodating and welcoming. We appreciated all of her recommendations! Throughly enjoyed our stay!
Enjoyed a lovely stay in this comfortable, friendly home.
Great communication. Wonderfully decorated 1-bedroom suite with lots of amenities. Great location near City Park and lovely host.
This was our first time in New Orleans! Laura was a great host! Not only was she very knowledgeable in guiding you towards your goals while visiting but also made great recommendations. Her home is very comfy and made us feel at ease. We enjoyed our time and plan on returning in the future in part because of the hospitality that Laura showed us. Also, her home is very close to the transportation routes and a couple of nice places to eat all in walking distance. We can’t thank Laura enough. Victor and Lori Hagerman
We really loved staying on this property! The neighborhood was beautiful and fun to walk through on the way to restaurants, city park, and the streetcar!
I loved staying here and Laura could not have been more accommodating. I checked in late due to my flight and she waited up for me with no issues. The property is beautiful, comfortable and inviting. I will absolutely look to come back and highly recommend. Thank you again Laura!!
The check in process was easy. Laura had great communication. The place was beautiful she made sure we had everything we needed along with suggestions for things to see places to visit and food recommendations. The location is perfect right near everything. One morning we walked to the botanical garden and cafe du monde it was stunning. We rented a car to make it simpler to get to the inner city but it would be about a 20-25 min walk to bourbon street. Laura really made sure we were comfortable and made us feel right at home.
We enjoyed our stay! Perfect location for exploring all New Orleans has to offer. Close to public transportation. The room and sunroom were very comfortable. It was nice having a private entrance. Laura was an outstanding host.
We rented the property as a home base during our elopement. It was such an amazing experience staying here and I can’t wait to return maybe closer to our anniversary!
Laura was wonderful, the house and room is perfect. I was late due to flight delays but Laura was very accommodating. I would stay here again. A++++
