We had a lovely and relaxing stay. Enjoyed walking to the beach and exploring the area. Anne’s breakfasts were incredible — a perfect way to start each day!

We had a very pleasant stay for two nights at the Stonehouse Manor late season at Popham Beach. Our room had a beautiful view of the mouth of the Kennebunk River. In the morning we lay in bed watching the sun rise on the autumn colored hillside by Fort Popham through the large bay window. It was quiet. We strolled the expansive grounds with our coffee admiring the botanical variation particularly the huge old copper beech in front of the manor. A homemade breakfast of Rachels blueberry muffins, fruit, scrambled eggs and sausage made by Rachel's husband and daughter awaited us inside. We walked down the road to Spinney's and onto the beach then walked the beach to the state park and back. The beach was largely empty, with a wind from the west southwest. Clear and sunny. About a 2+ hour relaxing, shell collecting walk. We then drove into Bath and visited the Maine Maritime Museum and had dinner at an excellent Thai restaurant just off Front St. The next morning was pretty much the same except for the hot fresh crisp made from fresh picked honeycrisp apples as an added addition to breakfast. Overall we had an excellent stay and would highly recommend the Stonehouse Manor as a place to stay when visiting Popham Beach, ME.

Sometimes we want the shops and restaurants within walking distance, but this time we hoped for dark night skies and only the sounds of nature. Stonehouse Manor provided exactly what we wanted. No tour buses will pull into their drive. . We heard coyotes at night and saw hawks in the day. We set up a spotting scope at the beach. We read a book to each other. An excellent breakfast carried us through to dinner. . Dinner was in-town, a half-hour unhurried country ride away. And the foliage? The charts don't call it peak, but I do. I never saw better, including our drive back home to New Hampshire.

What a lovely place. My wife and I were able to relax and recharge. The home and property are an experience themselves. Then the beach right here for long walks was so rejuvenating. Rachel our host was a picture of hospitality and breakfast was so yummy. Thanks for the loving care, just what we needed!

The house is very beautiful and lovingly maintained. It is set on a peninsula with views of the water looking both ways. The owner/manger was wonderful. Breakfast was great and we sat and talked over breakfast with her and her husband for almost four hours one day. We have never done that before. Great people. Great place. By far the best stay we have ever had at a B and B.

We arrived at the property after a 10 hour drive and found that it was double booked. The property manager had no record of the reservation even though I received confirmation from VRBO days before we left
