Incredible views. Amazing property. It has nothing to envy the lodges inside Glacier National Park since the views, services and food are equivalent to a 5 star resort
The Garrison In is a beautiful log home built by the property owners. Fantastic mountain and valley views from this secluded location. Owners are great hosts and super accommodating without giving you your space. Food is excellent with most items locally sourced. Don’t cross this “out of the way” place off your list. You won’t be disappointed.
Gene and Ann Marie are great and very hospitable. The breakfast is delicous and the sunrise is breath-taking! It's nice coming back after a long day hiking and relaxing on the deck enjoying the view and fresh air. I bought some housemade huckleberry jam to take back as gifts. Would love to come back one day.
Both Gene and Ann Marie were great hosts. We like that their home was secluded and had a great view of the mountains. Gene is also a great cook and so our breakfast was always delicious!
Excellent stay. Hospitality, food, room, we’re just great.
Very Impressed
It is a well kept beautiful log home tucked in the woods. Quiet and serene. Hosts are friendly and excellent food.
We stayed with Ann Marie and Gene for 5 lovely days this month. They are extraordinary hosts. Every morning was a breakfast adventure. Their home is lovely and has an incredible view. In addition to the wonderful breakfast they prepared each morning they will also prepare dinner for you and have a complete menu of items that they prepare for dinner. We took advantage of this treat and it was wonderful. We highly recommend staying with them.
Overall awesome time at the Garrisons. Great food, accommodating hosts, nice dog :)
My partner and I stayed here for three nights while attending a wedding nearby at Ashley Lake. It was only a 15 minute drive to the wedding location, and only a little bit further back into Kalispell. Each morning we were presented with delicious breakfast options (yes, they have a menu of about 6-8 dishes to choose from) which are all cooked to your order. The bacon was homemade and delicious. Our favorite was the stuffed French toast which included huckleberry as one of the options. Be sure to grab a jar of huckleberry jam, picked locally and made by the chef/purveyor! The room was comfortable and had its own bathroom/shower. The property was quiet and peaceful at night. We easily could have slept in each day. There are some breathtaking views of the valley and mountain range, which you can observe from inside the cozy living room with fireplace, or out on the deck while having a drink with hummingbirds buzzing nearby. The lower level has a pool table and bar. The cost was reasonable for what we received. I definitely recommend this as an option if you’re staying in the area!
This is a great spot, very quiet, great views, comfortable and it is ten miles out of Kalispel so plan accordingly. Gene recommended some great places to dine and we enjoyed them. Visit Ashley Lake as well. He is a trained Chef so you will love breakfast. Not for the elderly as the steps in are steep. Dog is friendly as well. Highly recommended!
Warm hospitality from well lit great cabin tucked in woods. 18 foot ceilings with massive beams compliment the ultimate rustic looking experience with all the comforts you could ask for and more than you would dare to hope for. Gene and Ann Marie were warm and quick to offer a glass of whatever ones heart might desire to these weary hikers. Breakfast was terrific and made from scratch right down to the home cured bacon! Comfortable beds, private well appointed baths and a nice cozy feel. Why couldn't it have been snowing in August!?! Hot chocolate anyone? In short, great folks, wonderful place (the photos don't do it justice) and frankly a bargain price. Highly recommend.
