Stayed May 13, 2026Second stay with Claire at her charming property. She is an excellent host who is very responsive and attentive to details. The home has an excellent location for our needs with proximity to Tulane, Audubon Park, and local restaurants. The front patio and rockers are a great place for morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail.

Stayed Apr 23, 2026What a fantastic stay! Perfectly decorated for New Orleans Jazz Fest. We typically stay downtown, but this uptown location is perfect for Magazine and Freret street districts. Near the streetcar as well. Quiet and lovely neighborhood. Will be back!

Stayed Mar 20, 2026Our stay at this VRBO in New Orleans was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The home had so much charm and character...it truly felt like a special place rather than just somewhere to stay. The location couldn’t have been better, making it easy to explore and enjoy everything the area has to offer. One of our favorite features was the front porch. Sitting in the rocking chairs each morning and evening was such a peaceful, relaxing experience....it really added to the overall atmosphere of the trip. The Easter decorations were an especially thoughtful touch and made our stay feel even more warm and welcoming.Traveling with kids, we also really appreciated the park just across the way. It was incredibly convenient and gave them a fun space to play while we relaxed nearby. All in all, this place had everything we could have hoped for....charm, comfort, and a fantastic location. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans!

Stayed Jan 22, 2026“Don't you just love those long rainy afternoons in New Orleans when an hour isn't just an hour - but a little piece of eternity dropped into your hands? I couldn't help but recall Tennessee Williams' poignant reflection as I spoke with our host, Claire, one rainy Friday afternoon in January. There I stood with my five-year-old son, contemplating the beauty and magnitude of celebrating my mother's birthday in New Orleans--a city where she came of age--just the three of us.Claire's house is as advertised: a distinct mid-19th century Double-Gallery House with all the lower Garden District charm. Our host greeted us multiple times, engaging in long conversations about various topics ranging from the weather to her experiences with our hometown.A perfect setting and a gracious host is certainly more than anyone could ask for, especially when traveling with a child for his first extended period of time away from home. In the words of the great Tennessee Williams, at Claire's house, an hour is a little piece of eternity! Five stars!

Stayed Feb 7, 2025Our hostess Claire was just so sweet! She had everything we needed, coffee, real creamer, small frig, wine glasses and even brought us snacks!! The home is tiny but so comfortable. We loved sitting on the porch in the evening. We went with dear friends so the shared bathroom was not an issue for us. Just be aware that you have to walk through one bedroom to go through the bathroom to reach the second bedroom. The neighborhood was very quiet and located just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. Thank you Claire for our gifts! Want a perfect reminder of our Super Bowl weekend!

Stayed Dec 8, 2024I recently spent a delightful stay at Claire’s lovely home in New Orleans. The house itself is charming, featuring beautiful furnishings and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Claire goes above and beyond as a consummate host: she’s incredibly knowledgeable about all things NOLA—from local eateries and music venues to city history you’d never find in a guidebook. If you’re interested in immersing yourself in the traditional side of New Orleans, you’ve come to the right place.Location and Convenience:•The home is within easy walking distance of the streetcar, so getting around the city without a car was a breeze.•We noticed that parking would have been simple and hassle-free if we had chosen to rent a car—ample space and no confusing restrictions.New Orleans Roots:•Claire’s family traces back to old New Orleanian roots, complete with plantation-era lineage. She’s active in several women’s social clubs and you might even find an application for a Mardi Gras Krewe on the end table.Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend Claire’s place for travelers seeking a quintessential New Orleans experience.

Stayed Oct 22, 2024The property was very comfortable and very nice. I love the antique vibe with the high ceilings. It was very tastefully decorated and the bathroom was wonderful. Then there was the relaxing front porch with wonderful rockers. The neighborhood was very friendly with people walking their pets. Mrs Claire was the best hostess. So friendly and eager to share her wealth of knowledge about her fair city with us. She added an extra dimension to our trip. She treated us like family which is so rare these days. I highly recommend her home.

Stayed Oct 18, 2024Claire is a lovely host and her home was perfect! She has everything we could ask for and even some things we forgot (ie. fans & sound machine). The house is easy walking distance to Magazine st., a cute bookstore, and the St. Charles street car. The neighborhood is really quiet and the perfect place to enjoy coffee on the porch. I would definitely stay here again.
