Treetop retreat with access to kayaks and rowboat near Acadia National Park

Quiet location and easy to access Acadia National Park.

I woke up in the morning and there was no water, no power and no cellular service.. need to leave the place one day earlier and was not offered a refund.. very disappointed

This review is for both the potential customers and the host. To be clear: We have no complaints about the host or the property. We just hope that the information I will give will be helpful. The bedrooms are small/stuffy and the two beds in the second bedroom are tiny. Even with the sofa bed in the living room I cannot see the maximum of 6 people fitting in comfortably---fortunately we only had 4 people in the group. But I have seen plenty of New England houses like this, so I can't say I was surprised. Another reviewer already said the second bathroom was not really usable. I agree---during our entire stay of 7 days we used it exactly once. But, again, I read that review before booking, so I am not complaining. What I want to say to the host is that the 9:00 AM check-out time is not practical. I understand it is your right to determine the check-out time, and I appreciate your flexibility when we were not ready until about 11:00 AM on our check-out day. I just wonder how many of your customers actually were able to pack up by 9:00 AM on their check-out day. If you have to allow flexibility for the majority of your customers anyway, why not just change it to a more practical time? I believe most hotels' check-out time is 11:00 AM or later. Overall, I liked our stay there, and I usually would not post a review when the experience is 'as expected'. I decided to post one in this case just to be helpful.

The area is amazing…quiet but close to everything. The apartment is nice, though the sofa wasn’t the most comfortable. Happy with our stay!

Well appointed and equipped. Our only difficulty was carrying luggage up and down the steps. In all, this was an exellent lodging.

Nice place to stay close to Acadia National Park in the quieter part of the island. A lot of nice restaurants close by. Treetop retreat was smaller than we expected but was plenty of room for our party of 4. It is a second story house so you must go up a set of stairs to access the house. Wasn’t bad except for when lugging heavy suitcases and coolers up. The beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed on our stay. Having access to the washer & dryer downstairs was a plus. We didn’t get time to enjoy the canoe & kayaks but love that it was an option. Host was very quick to answer questions. Thank you for sharing your vacation rental with us.

The property was as advertised except it didn’t capture the beauty of the overall property. House was clean, well equipped and in a quiet and beautiful setting. Manager was very responsive and enjoyable to work with. Would definitely stay there again

This property was perfect for what we needed. It is clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. We loved the view from the deck and side windows. We would definitely come again.

My partner and I were glad to stay here. We particularly enjoyed kayaking in the inlet that is at most a two minute walk from the property. About 30 minutes' drive from Bar Harbor where a lot of restaurants, shops, and some trails are, but quite close to other trails like Wonderland and a small town that is less crowded than Bar Harbor and has great food. Would happily stay here again!

Cozy and good location

The treehouse is a perfect summer spot. The photos do not do it justice; it is clean and tidy and the kitchen has every tool you could imagine needing (far from classic rental sparseness!). The location was perfect on Acadia's quiet-side, and the dock / kayak access was such a wonderful touch! Though it is a slight walk away from the house; the dock is not connected to the treehouse. Stacy was very responsive to all of our questions, within half an hour. I really have no complaints and would certainly recommend my friends stay here, or we stay here again!

This was a great little spot for the 4 of us and the location was perfect for visiting Acadia national Park and surrounding towns. Would definitely stay here again

Great location and immaculately clean. Very much enjoyed walking to the dock everyday to check the tide and kayaking. Peaceful and beautiful area. I would definitely stay here again.
