Stayed Jul 7, 2018We, and the dog, were warmly welcomed by Nathalie, the owner. ~Although she speaks little English (and we speak little French) we managed to understand her. Luckily, her nephew, Hector, is very fluent, so was a great help. The boulangerie and the local beach is very convenient - just a five minute down the hill (the walk back up is very good for the leg muscles and improving lung capacity!) The locals were extremely friendly. We ate at the brassierie adjoining the Adele's boulangerie (informal eating) and twice at L'Aquilon . Both the set and a la carte menus were excellent at LAquilon. We would also recommend Auberge de Relais - just a couple of miles up the road, where we also ate twice. Didn't try the little wine bar/bistro in Varengeville, but it looked lovely. Some amazing beaches when the tide went out - not too crowded due to them being accessed via lots of steps or ramps. Our Springer spaniel was never happier than when on the beach - loves to paddle! Highly recommended area - especially if, like me, you had a relative who was imprisoned in Dieppe for the duration of the war - but plenty of other places to explore, and Dieppe is a lovely town, especially on market day!

Stayed Sep 28, 2018Just back from a wonderful long weekend in Varengeville-sur-Mer. The studio apartment was just the right size for my husband and me, and was very clean and comfortable. The view was outstanding - the photos really don't do it justice - and apparently some tall tress are about to be cut down so the view will be even better. Being on a hill, it was extremely calm and quiet (just what we wanted), and we only saw our hostess upon arrival and departure - although she was available for questions at any time. September isn't really bathing weather, but we enjoyed walking along the local beach and watching the surfers. It was a perfect location from which to explore Dieppe to the north (only a 15 min drive away) and the various sights of Varengeville itself to the south. If you do stay here, I recommend stopping at a local supermarket on the way in to pick up toilet paper, paper towel, and simple groceries - there were a few condiments in the kitchen and one roll of toilet paper but not much else. Overall it was an excellent stay and we have already told Nathalie that we will plan to come back again. Highly recommended!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My fiance and I and our dog had an amazing week at Le Petit Zeph. The apartment is small but has everything you need, including fantastic (!!) views of the sea and the cliffs. Watching people kitesurf and seeing the sailing boats and bug cruiseships go by from the apartment was lovely. Nathalie, the host, and her husband are incredibly nice. Very discreet but always there if you need them. There are some great short and long walks to take directly from the house, either in the woods or on the beach. I particularly recommend walking to Dieppe on the beach at low tide (you'll pass the remains of two WWII bunkers!) and exploring the woods around Varengeville/between Varengeville and Pourville. The signs at the beach say no dogs allowed (only on the boardwalk), but as long as you stay at the edges of the villages no one seems to mind and there are many people with dogs on the beach, even off leash. In Pourville sur Mer itself there are a few nice shops and restaurants, and Dieppe is only a short drive (or long walk) away which has a castle and a beautiful cathedral, as well as many activities for kids. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly return to Le Petit Zeph the next time we are in Normandy.

Stayed May 31, 2017After such a warm and friendly welcome the views are just breath taking, the photos do not do this place justice. The sea side town is quiet and friendly, perfect for a gateway from ordinary life. Easy commute to shops for essentials and would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.. thank you

Stayed Apr 14, 2017Fabulous views from the massive picture windows. (the pictures really don't do it justice) and lovely apartment. Nathalie was very helpful and let us store our bikes in her garage. We had a great time and will be back!
