Step back into history with this charming vacation rental originally built in the late 1800’s to serve as the carriage house for the Gage/Murphy Mansion next door. This newly remodeled unit has over 900 square feet of generous living space and is ideally located on a quiet tree lined street just two blocks from the Prescott Courthouse Square. If you are a mountain bike enthusiast, the Whiskey Off-Road Fat Tire Criterium held the last weekend in April goes right by the front door!
The Prescott Carriage House has gone through many changes since the late 1800’s. By the early 1920's, the Prescott City Directories confirm that Prescott Carriage House had been converted into three separate residential units. Those Directories and Census records reveal a diverse group of Prescott Carriage House residents including a U. S. Marshall, a J. C. Penney salesman, a silver mine engineer and an attorney, among others. More recently, after extensive renovation and furnishing our first unit #302 Union Street, a part of the Prescott Carriage House has become available as a vacation rental. Our other vacation rental is Prescott Carriage House #113 Alarcon Street.

Great property, great location! Very comfortable and well stocked kitchen, though we didn’t cook. Would highly recommend! Very short walk to courthouse square!
We enjoyed the short walks into town and the cute place with a small porch and little picket fenced yard. No TV in the bedroom was the only downside.
Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Quiet neighborhood but easy walk to Whiskey Row, restaurants and shops. My husband and I would happily stay there again.
The Carriage House totally exceeded our expectations! The décor, the location, the upscale amenities, and the cute yard with the white picket fence, all suited our needs perfectly. At the end of our one month stay we were truly sad to lock the door and leave. The proximity to weekly entertainment at the Courthouse Square, Whisky Row and too many great restaurants to count all within walking distance are a huge bonus. For outdoor enthusiasts great hiking and paddling are just minutes away. We really appreciated everything our host Hank provided to make us so comfortable and a look forward to returning.
Our month stay was great. The house had all of the amenities we needed, was spacious and comfortable. We were in walking distance to so many great Prescott locations and the neighbors and neighborhood were wonderful. We are looking forward to our next visit Hank.
Perfect location to courthouse, restaurants hiking and pet friendly!
Our second time renting this property and everything was as we remembered. Very comfortable and very convenient to everything in Prescott. We will Be back.
Perched on a hill leading directly down to Whiskey Rd, the Carriage House was a perfect place to call home while exploring Prescott’s shopping, Antiquing, and Dining. It was also perfect for launching to local hiking trails and day trips. Every need was anticipated and planned for. Cozy and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful trip.
We have stayed several times at this property. Since our last stay in 2018, the property has a new owner. Although we liked some of the changes, the living room furniture is no longer comfortable for just hanging out, reading, watching TV, etc.. Our stays have ranged from 1 week to 2 months so hanging out comfort is important to us. This is still one of the best vacation rentals we have had in Prescott and there have been several.
Thank you, Hank. Your rental was upscale, clean and very comfortable. We plan to be back.
