The Old Customs House

This is a wonderful place with truly unique views. We loved it!The apartment has everything you need in terms of equipment, including outdoor chairs, a parasol, etc.There is also a large garden available for use.Meschers-sur-Gironde is close by for swimming, and Royan is a hidden gem for both city visits and swimming.Valerie and John (and Ray) are great hosts – thank you so much for the welcome present!

Property was very clean, a good size, and beautiful views across the water. Host Valerie made sure we had everything to enjoy our stay. Talemont is a very pretty old town, and we liked wandering around the narrow streets. We found access by car a little difficult due to the narrowness of the streets, but there was use of a private car park a few hundred yards away. Recommended, we had a lovely time, thanks!

The location and, above all, the daily view of the bay and the tides is so fantastic that we didn't want to go home at all. The communication with Valerie and John, a very impressive personality, was always pleasant. We would also like to mention that the flat is perfectly equipped. There is really nothing that you miss and the furnishings convey a cosy feeling right from the start. All in all, a great recommendation!

We had an amazing 10 days in the best holiday accomadation weve ever stayed in. The property itself was spotless with all all you needed for a relaxing break. The views were to die for in this little piece of paradise. The Old Customs House is sutuated in a lovely little village where you could shop and eat if you just wanted a lazy day. Some amazing coastal walks for the more energetic.

This is an outstanding property in a superb location. The apartment is both stylish and comfortable and the hosts are charming. It captures the essence of the Gironde and we recommend it.

This is our third visit and will not be our last. We love it here and John and Valerie work really hard to ensure that all their guests have a beautiful and very well equipped place to stay. The views are unsurpassed and there is something new to see every day.

This is quite simply one of the most beautiful holiday locations you will ever find. The accommodation is fabulous. The attention to detail is excellent...you’ll want for nothing. I simply can’t tell you how much I love this place. It’s just gorgeous. We’ve been twice now and would love to go back a third time. Who knows? I hope we do...

We have now stayed at the Old Custom House twice and have already booked for 2019. It is a peaceful property with a lovely garden and an unparalleled view of the Gironde estuary and the local fishing boat. Nothing is too much trouble for Valerie and John and they are very welcoming hosts. As I walked into the large and well appointed kitchen,diner I felt as if I had come home.
