Julian and Caroline's hide away has excellent views and great walks abound. We booked our stay early December and we were met by Julian upon arrival, he showed us around the 1 bedroom property built above the garage area. Luckily for us Julian had anticipated our arrival at 5pm and so had the heating on which made for a comfortable stay, also there was a welcome pack of tea milk and coffee to hand! Oh by the way a big shout out for the comfortable bed!! The roads leading to and from the property are a little bumpy, as they are well worn! Overall we had a great three night stay the property which is well located to all the local attractions. Regards

Lovely quiet location. On arrival Julian & Caroline made us feel very welcome & made sure we had everything we needed. The flat was very clean with a well equipped kitchen. Great bike rides into the forest from the door & the stunning coastline only a short drive away. Would recommend.

We had a lovely, peaceful, stay in this forest-located accommodation. There was everything we needed for a week's stay and I have no doubt the charming hosts would have assisted us if we had needed any more. The accommodation is very comfortable and the sitting area outside has nice views of the forest and fields. All local attractions (RSPB Arne, Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle etc.) are in easy reach by car. In short, many thanks for a great break! :)

From the initial drive down the single track lanes in beautiful scenery to the arrival at the location in a quiet oasis of tranquility the first impressions were excellent. On arrival we were met by the very friendly owner and shown the flat. Everything you could need was supplied, in a very homely and clean interior. It’s shoes off before going up the stairs to the flat and the only thing I missed was maybe a stool to help with putting your shoes on before going out. The bed linen was very white and clean and the towels were quality. We did some simple cooking and we wanted for nothing. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom and shower were clean and tidy. We do enjoy Dorset and this would be our first choice for a place to stay next time we visit.

The property is adequate for any stay and was comfortable. The decor is not lavish and considering the time spent in the property was entirely sufficient. The hosts were most welcoming and congenial. They offered any additional support as required and I am convinced would have delivered. The property is remote but that was such a plus. Welcomed by horses and a cuckoo, then nature in its finest gown, and deer. Grand, elegant beasts. The fauna was breathtaking and the proximity of the well known sights convenient. Would I return? Yes of course.

Perfect for us. We had a long weekend to explore this part of Dorset. Host very friendly and welcoming. The property is over their double garage so if you need them easy to see but we never saw them once which is nice. Well stocked with kitchen utensils if you want to eat in. We explored all day and come back early evening, bit of a challenge if you don’t like driving in the dark but we identified landmarks that helped so no problem. Kitchen window looks on to fields with horses from their stables and an occasional spotting of deer. Loving if you like walking. Property decor is tired but homely and didn’t bother us at all. Would probably return to see it in the summer.

A lovely, quiet stay at the end of a long drive/track. Flat is as described, light and airy, overlooking woodland and paddocks. The two settees are comfortable after a day on your feet and the bed is big, comfortable and cosy. Hosts were very helpful and were there to greet us and to say goodbye. Food basics are supplied, tea, coffee, sugar and condiments. The only thing that couldn't be arranged was some sunshine!!

The Hydeaway is in a tranquil location yet ideally situated for the many local attractions and towns, such as Compton Acres Gardens, Athelhampton House, RSPB Arne, Swanage, Weymouth, Corfe Castle etc. Lovely views of the fields and woods from the property which is owned by Julian And Caroline who are very amiable hosts. Highly Recommended.

If you like to get out into the countryside this is as good as it gets. Julian & Caroline are perfect hosts, the property is clean and tidy plus everything you need is there and the surroundings are just as good if not better than the photo's. There are no negatives from us and we would definately like to return again. Thank you both for a great weeks stay.

A fantastic place to stay, with so much in the area to see and do. We especially enjoyed visits to Wareham and Worth Matravers, and the chance to see the peregrines at Corfe Castle - and the Tolpuddle Martyrs museum! Our hosts were discretion personified.
