The High Tide Studio #6

Description of the property was not accurate. It was described as a busy area with potential for noise from a busy BBQ and bar below the rooms. The entire time we were there, we never saw another person. The restaurant downstairs is no longer operating and in fact there was a notice on the door that indicated they were in violation of sidewalk maintenance. (As the sidewalks were in perfect condition - we can only assume this was left unattended for a long period of time). As a single woman, traveling with my teen daughter - I actually look for the busy (potentially loud) types of locations as it increases the likelihood I can obtain help if I need it - knowing people will be around. This was not the case at all - the place was abandoned. Mostly clean - although bedding was stained and back of the sliding bathroom door has likely not been wiped in months. On my first night there - I brought to the attention of the host that there was a beeping smoke detector in the hallway - indicating it had a low battery. I was told that it would be attended to ASAP. Unfortunately, it beeped the entire time we were there. On our second night there - we had an issue with our room lock. We were unable to locate a contact phone number for the host - either by info provided by them or posted in the building. Thankfully we found a nice gentleman next door who was able to help us access the room. Communication by email with host was insufficient.

Good location with easy connection with transportation network

It was very nice. I loved the fact it was close to a beach and with cheap transportation options to the main city areas. Top spot to chill and for the price it’s excellent

The parking lot could be improved. It was more a construction site than an actual parking lot, but that doesn't take away really from the experience, just a minor thing to note. Overall very happy with my experience. The space met my simple needs. Recommended if you're looking for a simple place to stay. Proximity to Rockaway Beach is great!

Room and bathroom were really clean. Host was very nice and attentive. Always answered quickly and accommodated my needs. Convenient location. Due to the fact that the window of the room faced the street, the noise of cars and buses can be annoying if you need to rest. I would recommend asking for a room on the opposite side. Other than that, it is a no expensive and clean place to be close to the beach.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We decided to get out of Manhattan for our anniversary this year. We wanted to get to the beach, not rent a car, and not break the bank. This place was perfect! We literally took the subway all the way there, and walked 2 short blocks to the High Tide. 2 short blocks from there was a beautiful (FREE) beach. The High Tide boasts not having a staff or a TV in the room, so they’re able to charge you less for the room. You have a mini fridge, a bed, and a bathroom, and that’s all you need for a few days spent at the beach! The booking process and app were great, and Jonathan explained the whole thing clearly. You receive an access code for the front door and for your room, so there really isn’t much of a need for an on site staff member. The room was beautifully painted and clean. Our only small complaint was that the hand towel holder by the sink and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall during our stay. We had a multi tool with us and were able to tighten things, but this is something that may have been caught if the place had a staff member checking in on those types of things. Overall this was a perfect getaway out of the city, and we are very pleased with our stay - we would certainly go back again!

Even took a bus ride and hike to Fort Tilden to explore. But the beach would've been more than enough. Seamless check in and out and access. Room 6 has the coolest decoration ever!

My stay at the High Tide Hotel #6 was amazing! I was really needing a last min, quick, inexpensive summer retreat and this was the perfect place for me. I've lived in New York for years but this was my first time to Rockaway beach. Location is great: The Air bnb is 1 block away from the beach and 1 block away from the subway stop (A train to the Shuttle). So there was no need to catch an uber or plane from anywhere, which saved me money. The room was awesome! As an artist myself, I loved the decor and details of the room.

The Hotel is centrally located and one block from the beach. Plenty of restaurants, bars and entertainment nearby. Public transportation is very close (one block). Room is updated, very clean and the hosts are great. We will be back!
