Stayed Aug 13, 2024Great location. Not very comfortable apartment. There are 11 lockboxes and you are not told which one you have the code for. Would stay again but not for that price.

Stayed Jan 2, 2026A perfect wee hideaway. It’s an ideal location right in the heart of Old Town.Perfect for a single person on an adventure or cozy couple experience. Everywhere you want to go is within walking distance and should you wish to explore beyond the immediate vicinity, Princes Street is just down the hill where you’ll find a bus to take you literally anywhere in Scotland. It’s very cozy. The radiator heaters in every room provided plenty of warmth in the sub zero weather. Nice and toasty.Comfortable bed and the couch was perfect for lounging on and watching BBC iPlayer which is included. Doctor Who fans will enjoy this nice perk. The amenities were as described. The shower has good pressure. My only very minor inconvenience was there was no spatula in the kitchen utensils and the frying pan was too light to register on the electric cook top but everything else was perfectly fine. The Jolly Judge pub is literally out your back door and the view out of the bedroom window is epically beautiful.Great little place. I’d recommend it.

Stayed Jul 11, 2025We absolutely loved this flat! From one side we looked over The Royal Mile. From the other side we had a view of the Writer's Museum and Makar's Court. It was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. The buses are easy to use, but we didn't even need them this trip! We could hear the bagpipers and tourists (and seagulls!) with the windows open, which we enjoyed... but closing them drowned out the noise nicely, too. Excellent stay!

Stayed Jul 15, 2025Overall poor and careless maintenance: shower with blocked drain, hose leaking. Hooks in the bathroom broken off. Table wobbly, chairs sagging. Wardrobes filled with cleaning utensils, spare blankes and two irons (why two?), leaving no room for personal belongings (clothes etc.) in the wardrobes. Building sites directly opposite, construction machinery noise even at 4.45 am!

Stayed Dec 29, 2024Location is hard to beat. Simply excellent. Walk from train station is not long, but take taxi from train station because of hills and stairs if you have any luggage. Lock boxes look alike. Take close note of exact directions. You will need to carry luggage up to first landing, about 20 small winding stairs. Doable, but be forewarned. Kitchen looks sharp and has enough cups, plates and silverware. No freezer in refrigerator, so no ice. Small bathroom, but everything works. Double bed barely fits in room. Cozy to hold two. They should replace swinging door with barn door slider instead, to get more room. They need more hooks and shelves throughout. It overlooks Royal Mile, but was very quiet. Thus, no downside to being in the thick of things. Explore the back area outside as it has cute and good ice cream/pastry shop and a good little pub. Both are 1-2 minutes from unit. Ideal for one person but unit can work for two if you are ok with small bed.

Stayed May 24, 2024Great location! Emma's Tips were helpful, as were the books. Our Scottish friends did say this represented 18th century living in Edinburgh. 23 winding wet stairs to our ground floor room. Small bedroom. Had to turn bed catty-corner to both be able to get in and out. Dead bug on the counter behind the sink. Burned out light in the foyer. Re: check-in, at least 8 lockboxes up high. Found ours by trial and error with the help of a tour guide. Hook on back of bathroom door was broken. For the high price we expected much more.
