Tannin Apartment (circa 1850) was once the separate outbuilding of a Georgian residence built by William Page. He established one of Bathurst’s first tanneries on this original block. His residence The Tannery is one of the oldest existing houses on the western side of the Macquarie River. The restoration of the main Tannery residence and adjoining Tannin Apartment was undertaken in 2012 by the current owners.

    Quite small but beautifully restored/renovated and well-appointed apartment in a quiet street. Easily walkable (15-20 minutes) to town, but I suspect that most people would drive. Perfect base for our weekend visit to Bathurst.

    We stayed a couple of nights and the place had everything, felt like we were at home. The bed was comfy, very quiet location, was terrific to have tea, coffee and fresh milk plus fresh juice and fruit, breakfast was sorted for first morning after arriving. Spotlessly clean. Thanks heaps for allowing us to check in a little earlier so we could get to a family 80th Birthday lunch, truly appreciated. We will be back next time we pass through Bathurst.

    Once again Anne presented the apartment to perfection. The presentation, facilities and location are great for a Bathurst stay. We come to the central west each year and will be looking to stay at Tannin Apartment whenever we can.
