Fishtown has been called Philadelphia's trendiest neighborhood. At my little studio, you can be in the heart of it and yet still be just one block from the elevated train which takes you to Center City in 10 minutes. Enjoy coffee at La Colombe, German beer at the Frankford Hall beer garden, spirits at Lloyd's, and live music at Johnny Brenda's. This is a comfortable 250 square foot completely private space with its own modern bathroom and soaring 25 foot ceilings.
The space
Our space issimple but comfortable. We have a queen sized bed, a table and chairs, a dresser, a small fridge, a microwave, and a full bath with shower. There is no TV.
Guest access
There is free 3 hour parking on our block of Front Street. For longer term free parking, try the side streets nearby - Thompson and Master (It’s hit or miss whether you find a space). There are paid parking lots at 1320 N Front and 1400 N Howard. If you’re desperate, try parking on American Street north of Cecil B Moore — there are always openings.
Other things to note
We are located next to an elevated train line. The train is loud. We’ve done our best to sound proof the space and we’ve provided earplugs. In addition, the train stops most nights between 12 and 5:15. Nevertheless, you should come prepared for some noise.

This place is under train rails, very loud and shaky. They said we can find earplugs in the room but there wasn't any. The drawers had trash like empty candy gelatine and they were dusty on top. It seemed like the room was cleaned much before we arrived. There's microwave and refrigerator but no plate or mug. When we had a leftover food that wasn't in a microwave-safe box, we couldn't heat it up. It's in a great location and could be good for one night only, but not for longer stays. As a plus for some, their bathroom is made for physically-disabled.

This place was exactly what I needed for a quick overnight stay after traveling in to Philly. Super easy to get to without needing a car, it’s very close to an L station. Lively neighborhood, I had a great time. Yes the train is loud when it rolls by, but I could manage since it did stop late at night. Great value here.

The property has a great and convenient location. Front St. may seems dirty and unsafe with the people loitering around but I felt very at ease moving around and having the train nearby made everything easier. The studio is well kept and as described. If you read the description you know exactly what to expect and that's what you get. I was pleased with my stay.

We stayed in this property for 4 days and I didn’t like our stay at all. Hot water wasn’t coming properly in the room. Lot of noise from outside and you can clearly hear the train noise as there is a track above. No room service and they didn’t give anything extra. Totally disappointed with the stay. My head started aching badly because of the train sounds. I just couldn’t bear it.

Nice size room to sleep and eat. Hope you are used to train noises, cause there's a track just literally outside the door and it will not stop until late at night. Otherwise, nice place and the attendant working the parking lot next door is awesome!

Great little place which is set up well. As mentioned in the description, the train is loud but easily got used to it and it was easy to sleep or relax during the day even when trains were going by.

Location was convenient to the metro to get around. Only real downside is the proximity to the tracks and you can hear the trains all through the day starting bright and early.

The room is loud but after a few passes of the train, it started reminding me of thunder... It only lasted for a few seconds then it was over until the train came by again.I wish there was a TV in the room. For 200 a night, it seems that a TV would be a cheap addition. This would allow another lever of sound proofing. This was the first space I have stayed in in years that had internet but no TV to use. It's a small thing but t adds a lot of value to me.

This listing is spot on regarding the details. The owner is extremely responsive and provides as much insight as possible when questions arise. I would revisit this rental and look forward to future visits. Thanks for a great stay.

If you need a place to stash your luggage, shower, read, work remotely, sleep-and do not require a hotel experience-this efficiency stay will meet your needs, and keep costs low.Yes, the El is a noisy train which passes overhead in both directions and may prevent a most restful sleep. However, the train schedule is reduced on the weekend, and the proprietors have taken proper measures to reduce the screech, and the overall sensation is not a loud intrusion, but a rumbling sensation. Everything in Fishtown is right there. KFN, El Bar, Bottle Bar East (I don’t even drink anymore). With the new face on Fishtown, and the Brooklyn vibes emanating from the people, the new retail spots, the overall Yuppie Crunch makes for a fun trip, and great walking-around.I was unable to connect to the Wi-Fi, and my iPad was acting funny. My 5G was running slow, and that may correspond to the overhead iron of the Market-Frankford Line. I Doordash’d Primos, grabbed chicken at Front Street Cafe, and stocked up on water at the Fishtown Markey. There is not room for a laundry set-up.There is no TV (which I liked). There is a noise machine that helps with the busy sounds of the location. The hosts are excellent with communication. The bed was truly comfy. Great pillows. The bathroom was large and stayed warm during a hot shower. A small fridge, a working/reading table, and a chest of drawers filled out the space & functionality. Thanks for the early courtesy on the 1st morning.

I took my boyfriend to Philadelphia to check out Lincoln Mill haunted house for Valentines day. I booked a room and I found this one. It was a great price for the weekend. We explored Fishtown and the food was amazing around the area. We did not like the parking situation but the host does explain that when you boo. The train is very loud since it is right outside of your door but if you are heavy sleepers it shouldn't be a problem. The bed was too soft for our liking. Other then that we had a great time and the room was clean. Thank you Peter again for letting us stay here.

This property is nestled under train track. If you are looking for a solid 8 hours of sleep, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a night out in Fishtown: great food, pubs, Punchline Comedy etc, then this spot is perfect.

A nice, simple stay. You do hear the train, but that's to be expected, but honestly it wasn't an issue. Communication was fantastic, the appliances worked, the heater was nice and toasty. Super easy check in and check out.

Great little room right next to a bunch of great bars and restaurants and seconds away from public transit. Cool area to walk around. Only downside is the loud noise of the train as mentioned in the listing, but for that price it was worth it!
