Stilt House @ Fernwood.eco with sauna & hot tub

The location and scenery are amazing, they really set the place apart, but I was extremely impressed with the comfort and overall quality of the accommodation which made the whole stay even better. I really appreciated how everything on site was so thought through, and how all the little details added up to make my stay so enjoyable. I would love to come back as soon as possible!

Stilt House is beautifully designed, positioned and constructed. It's positioned in a wooded area of higher ground with wonderful light from 3 directions. The bed is super comfortable and hard to leave. We enjoyed long walks in the woodland, followed by great food in Clifden and a mooch in the shops. Rest, relaxation and nature.

Fernwood is a special place. If you need somewhere to unwind and relax look no further. We stayed in the Stilt House, used the Sauna both days. Everything you need is provided. A memorable few days.

Stilt house feels like a private retreat immersed in nature, it was hard to leave the relaxing accommodation and wild surroundings of Fernwood even when the sun shone! The lakeside sauna and plunge sits sensitively amongst the landscape and was a lovely activity the punctuate the evening. It was an additional treat to be hosted by Anne and her family in the bothy for Gather super club. Anne’s attention to detail and conscious design ethos makes Fernwood farm feel like a very special place.

Fernwood was so beyond all my expectations. Only an hour from home in Galway, it felt like we had escaped a million miles away to pure peace and bliss. The house was beautifully kept and perfect for a relaxing weekend both in and exploring Clifden. The sauna and plunge pool were such a lovely touch. We will definitely be back

Setting was lovely as was the stillt house itself. . We dined in on the first night and the facilities were ideal. Great place would go back .

Anne was very welcoming and could not do enough to help. The Stilt house was incredible; the interior blended with the woodland surrounding it; a calm environment to detach from reality. It had all the basics needed, warm, ambient lighting, and a 2 minute walk down to the sauna and plunge pool. The private outdoor bath was a particular bonus at 10pm at night and 0° temperatures. The nature trails around the grounds lead you to stunning viewpoints to enjoy the Connemara scenery.

We enjoyed our stay at the stilt house, it exceeded all expectations. Everything we could need was thoughtfully provided, and then some. The accommodation was clean, cosy, with personal touches that made it feel welcoming and unique. Location is peaceful and private, yet Clifden is only a short drive away; it’s the perfect balance. Instructions were clear and easy to follow, making our stay completely straightforward. We would definitely return and happily recommend it to others

Everything was wonderful, the sauna, the swedish bath, the Stilit house, only thing we would have liked was robes for lounging around after using the swedish bath in or heading to the sauna.

We really enjoyed staying at that beautiful house. The sauna experience was just outstanding.

We loved the stunning, secluded setting. The unique property had so much to offer and we loved exploring the grounds and local villages. We most definitely will be recommending to all our friends and family, and can’t wait to return ourselves.

Stayed 3 nights in the luxurious Stilt House at Fernwood and it was pure magic. Peaceful, healing, & surrounded by nature, no noise or light pollution, just stillness & stars. The sauna in the trees overlooking the water was unforgettable, I slept better than I have in years. Anne, the owner, was warm, genuine, & outstanding from booking to arrival. Fernwood’s eco values & sustainability shine through everything they do. It’s a truly beautiful place that restores your whole system.

This was such a unique and beautiful property. The design elements were impeccable and the winding trails, twinkle lights, rope bridge and sauna all invited adults to be playful. It was whimsical and lovely!

So peaceful and so beautiful just feel so in nature. The silt house was absolutely breath taking and all the surrounding area. The perfect way to slow down and just be. The detail and attention but into everything was just amazing. Exceeded expectations I just loved it.

The place is stunning and incredibly calming, we’d just come from our wedding and needed some down time and this was the perfect escape. The interiors of The Stilt House were clean, modern and trendy. We wish we were staying for longer. Also the diffuser smelt incredibly - we’ve been on the hunt since to try buy one!

The Stilt House and it’s surroundings exceeded all of our expectations. It’s simply a gem. Two nights was too short to enjoy all the amenities (sauna, hot tub, bikes, trails, etc.) I can’t recommend this place enough.

The Stilt House, was an amazing piece of architecture in a beautiful setting that was peaceful and quiet, and lovely listening to the birds. The sauna and plunge pool was very invigorating and well worth doing

The wonderful house, the architecture, beautiful surroundings, the tranquility, the landscape. We did also like the town of Clifden very much. Nice, friendly and clean. We had a very nice dinner at Mitchell’s Seafood.

We loved the hot tub, the design of the stilt house, the trees around the house, the sauna! The setting in a fairytale forest, walking around and the beautifully designed spaces.

Loved the Stilt House and the walks in the wood and the sauna and the seats by the lake and most of all the serenity. Such a beautiful spot and love how this wild piece of land has been reclaimed and turned into something beautiful.

My stay in Fernwood felt like a Peaceful and beautiful escape. The accommodation , surroundings and sauna were top class. Will definitely be returning again .

The stilt house was stunning, obvious that so much care and attention has gone into its design and maintenance. The scenery is beautiful and window locations make it feel so private. The wood-burning stove was a massive highlight in terms of cosiness. The toiletries were high quality and smelled amazing. The sauna was fun. The only thing I would say is that it was a bit cold, we had the stove on all day. The oven tray had some ?croissant crumbs on it.

The serene aesthetic of the stilt house that mirrors the woodland surrounding the property is magical! My girlfriend and I adored the wood burning fire. The dim lighting made the environment cozy and relaxing. The sauna and plunge pool was an incredible experience. We cannot wait to come back to visit the stilt house during another season and experience how it changes the vibe. We can’t recommend the stilt house and the whole Fernwood experience enough!

Stilt House Amazing,I'd happily move in, It's a beautiful space with picture frame windows over looking the woodland around. Modern Interiors, Plenty of Kitchen equipment/ cutlery etc to keep you going.

Just being able to switch off. It was so easy to do that here, so relaxing and the surroundings are just amazing. The attention to detail was perfect!

Stayed here last weekend and loved every minute. The Stilt House is completely immersed in the woodland setting, making it a really unique escape from the ordinary. It was so comfortable, thoughtfully designed and run by the nicest people. The sauna and plunge bath were fantastic. After 3 nights here, I felt more relaxed than after our 2 week summer holidays in Portugal. Fernwood is definitely in my top three best places I’ve ever stayed. We will be back!

On instagram they have many reels on “instagram vs reality” Well in this case the reality was better than instagram. Everything about our stay was fantastic, the hot bath , the sauna, the beautiful wooded walkway and most importantly the accommodation. We would recommend this to anyone and everyone. We loved the forest and sauna, and the ethos of Anna and Simon is so encouraging, they’re really passionate about the environment.which is wonderful to be a part of. The Stilt house is really cosy and a fabulous place to spend a rainy afternoon in front of the stove.

The stilt house is architected so well, and we enjoyed being within the trees. It is a space created for relaxing but it also feels like an adult playground. We didn’t want to leave, thanks for letting us have your farm as part of our mini-moon. We won’t forget it.

Love the design of the apartment. Beautifully decorated, well stocked kitchen for self catering. The Swedish bath was a lovely touch! Sauna in the trees was super. So convenient to Clifden

We loved the Stilt House - beautiful and very peaceful amongst the trees. Also a fantastic location - great facilities at Fernwood (including the lake and wonderful sauna) and just a short walk to Clifden.

The peacefulness and relaxing nature of the setting as well as the proximity to Clifden. The bed was really comfy and the sauna was great.
