Spectacular mountain beauty and comfort at Hawkes Hill in Golden BC

Great host who showed us the ins and outs for the lodging. The only minor issue was the painted subfloors. Highly recommend.

Everything was fabulous. It is a beautiful location. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was just very comfortable. The hot tub and the wood-burning stove was a nice touch for a winter stay. Bill was very responsive. Would like to stay again.

Bill may very well be the best host I’ll ever stay with. The view is wonderful and Golden is a lovely town to visit.

My wife and I stayed for a weekend getaway and had a fantastic time! Bill was very helpful and kind in ensuring we arrived safely through some blizzard weather. The hot tub was well maintained, the views incredible, and the place super cozy. We were leaving wishing we had a few more nights to stay!Don't let the opportunity to stay here pass you by.

Amazing views of the Columbia wetlands. Apartment is very comfortable, beautiful, & clean. Bill was a attentive & pleasant host. We did not cook because we ate dinner with family, not on site. But, all appliances were in good condition. My only concern is identifying the drive way after dark. I would recommend solar lights with a large address ## for clear identification.We would definitely return and highly recommend to others!

Fabulous place to stay just outside Golden. Beautiful view from the balcony and the accommodation itself is extremely comfortable. Bill couldn’t have been more helpful both in settling is in and in giving brilliant recommendations for how to make the most of our stay. Would highly recommend without any reservations.

Great stay at Hawkes Hill - nothing could have been better. Bill was an excellent host and was so kind to give us a vase with some of his beautiful flowers to enjoy during our stay! We also enjoyed Bill's sweet and lovable cat, Bella!

Comfortable, quiet, cozy and simply a remarkable rental! The host, Bill, is extremely knowledgable about the area and anything you may want to do while visiting.I enjoyed white water rafting, visiting 3 National Parks and taking long walks on trails on the property.

What a wonderful, cozy retreat! It is hard to say what was better: the amazing view from the deck, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, or the engaging and hospitable host! Bill was so gracious; giving us interesting stories and local advice when asked, and granting us privacy at all other times. When an unavoidable hot tub repair took it off-line for our two nights' stay, Bill let us know ahead of time and provided a growler of our favorite kind of beer as an apology! Golden was a perfect jumping off point for The Lake Louise area; although it is a bit of a distance (maybe 45 minutes), it was lovely to be based in a charming little town with interesting shops, restaurants, and a river walkway. In short: this was the best of all worlds and we are very grateful to Bill for providing this idyllic getaway.

We had such a great week in Golden. Bill went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. This location was perfect for exploring hikes in Yoho and Golden. He also gave us plenty of recommendations for nearby things to see and do. One of a kind property! The views from the deck were the best way to start and end each day.

Peace and quiet with the best views of the Colombia River. Comfy accommodations and only a short drive to Golden. And to top things off, Bill is the best host! Thanks again Bill for the wonderful stay and we’ll be sure to stay again if we are ever passing through.

The owner has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The views from the deck are amazing, great place to sit after a long day with a glass of wine. The hot tub with reviews was a bonus! Would definitely stay here again!

We knew it was going to be beautiful from the pictures, and they were exactly as I imagined it to be. It was so nice to have our own bedrooms, have space for dining and living room with our family. What made it special was Bill’s hospitality. We would love to return again in the future!

This property was fabulous! The accommodations were very comfortable and the bed as well. The location is quiet and there's trails in meadows where you can find quiet walks. Bill and Maggie were so helpful in suggesting places to visit. I loved the hot tub for soaking after a day of hiking. Bill was so responsive to issues that I encountered in losing my wallet. I'm so grateful for his assistance. Thank you for an absolutely, awesome stay!
