Spacious Guest Apartment in the quiet suburbs of Hartford

Nice area, and we had no issues getting Uber or Lyft to the address. There were more birds than I expected, but they did not wake us up. We used the provided sound machine and brought ear plugs, and we slept in pretty late for most of our stay. During the day, we actually enjoyed listening to the birds chirp and chatter in their separate rooms and outside. They made the atmosphere feel almost tropical. They're also extremely pretty.The property was very clean as well as beautiful! We are so glad we stayed here, instead of going to a hotel!The hosts were kind and easy to get in touch with. Highly recommend this rental!

Absolutely lovely stay! Lovely hosts, impeccably clean, smooth check in and communication, lovely design, and comfy stay. Nice to hear the birds chirping happily all day. They’re not loud, and they are silent from 8 pm - 8am. Very peaceful. Would definitely come back!

Carl & Rafael were incredible hosts, and their home made our trip truly memorable. My daughter and I traveled from Arizona for a college soccer recruiting visit, and staying here gave us such a genuine feel for the area and community.The property itself was beautiful and unique — especially the aviary, which made it unlike anywhere else we considered. Carl & Rafael went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even treating us to homemade vegan mac & cheese. Their warmth and hospitality brought so much comfort during a trip that carried a lot of emotion and uncertainty as a parent.We left feeling grateful, cared for, and hopeful — and we would absolutely stay here again.

If I could give 10 stars for the property/home and the hosts, Carl & Rafael, I would. Their house/property was absolutely stunning, meticulous and the accommodations were everything that was listed in the description and more. Location is peaceful and very accessible to all the towns we needed to get to. Carl & Rafael are very kind, thoughtful and will do what they can to ensure your stay is enjoyable. They have numerous birds, of all breeds, and their care of these beautiful animals show just how deep their kindness is. Their property is truly one that I would want to keep as my special place and not tell anyone else. I look forward to our next trip to CT in the hopes that they will have availability for us to stay with them again.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property! The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The grounds were absolutely stunning, and the added bonus of seeing parrots around the property made it feel extra special and unique. Such a peaceful and enjoyable experience—we would definitely love to return!

Great location for a fly-fishing getaway on the Farmington river.

Everything was beautiful, the location and home were amazing. My only complaint would be the room containing the exotic birds, they could be quite loud in the mornings. By the evening, they were asleep and quiet.

If you think the outside is meticulous, so is the inside!! The house is constantly maintained and groomed throughout the month that we used it as our home base. The guys were such great and thoughtful hosts and pay attention to every detail. We are veryparticular and this property did not dissappoint. The bird aviary is just sparkling and had no odors. The outside homes for them are just as groomed as the property. Spoiled and sweet...that's how they are treated. It was an absolute delight listening to them. We certainly approve and reccommend this for anyone who is as clean and neat as we are. Thank you

Very nice place. Beautifully decorated! Convenient to Hartford area in a nice suburban neighborhood. Beautiful house and grounds. Welcoming hosts. Comfortable bed. Raphael and Carl have thought of everything to make guests comfortable. The suite is downstairs and there are steps down to it. They have a collection of parrots and finches adjacent to the suite. It was fun to interact with them. Tesla supercharger is 10.5 miles away. We came to visit relatives in Southington about 30 min away. We toured Coltsville, the old Colt factory (beautiful architecture), and the Mark Twain house.

Clean room, bathroom and kitchenette. You shared the space with 20 birds in the next room.

As with our multiple visits in the past, this property feels like coming home. Hope to continue our stays with these wonderful hosts!

We were so blessed to have the opportunity to stay at Carl and Rafael’s beautiful home. They were so welcoming and caring and their attention to detail is phenomenal. The home was just perfect for us and the interior decor and exterior landscape is elegant. We definitely will plan another stay, hopefully in the late summer, early fall, to take in the landscape. We recently had the pleasure of staying at Carl and Raphael’s charming guest suite, and we can’t recommend this fabulous accommodation highly enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property is meticulous in every way. Every detail, from the quality of the linens to the thoughtfully chosen decor, was absolutely perfect. The suite is gorgeously decorated, and we could easily imagine it on the cover of a magazine—it has that wow factor that makes one feel instantly at home and pampered. The art gracing the walls appears to be carefully curated to compliment the decor - and I spent much time marveling at the brushwork of several paintings. The hosts were fabulous —warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making sure our stay was exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed - from plush bath towels and robes to comfortable fine furnishings though out the suite. Their hospitality made the whole experience feel personal and special. The listing is accurate in every way, and the little touches, like the variety of breakfast snacks and beverages and a good selection of Keurig coffee, were the perfect start to my mornings as I watched the sunrise from the back patio.

We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations. Beautifully decorated, clean, and many little touches that made it special. Like who provides bathrobes and really healthy treats in the fridge these days?? Our hosts were extremely kind and helpful and we enjoyed talking with them. We were enthralled with the birds, especially singing with the parrots. We hope to return as the need arises.
