Stunning large drawing room apartment with beautiful outlook over private gardens, within 10 minutes walk to Princes Street. This apartment is spacious light and an ideal place to relax. Two large bedrooms and ample living space for up to four people. Located in the fashionable district of Comely Bank, close to Stockbridge village. Stockbridge is full of fabulous eateries, cafes and bars. Once home to Sir Ernest Shackleton, the Antarctic explorer.



The Space:

This first floor apartment is within a converted town house circa 1890 and is decorated to a very high standard, retaining many period features including ornate cornicing and wooden panelling. The apartment has Virgin Media cable TV and high-speed internet/WiFi (up to 100Mbps, optical fibre) with unlimited downloads.



The property consists of a very large drawing (living) room, hallway, two double bedrooms both with comfortable double beds, kitchen and bathroom. There is a desk and stool for laptop use.



The apartment has gas central heating with radiators in every room, which provide ample warmth in winter months. There is also a traditional cast-iron fireplace in the living room, with a realistic living flame electric fire.



The kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The clothes dryer is a traditional Edinburgh clothes pulley.



Guests have access to the private Learmonth Gardens opposite the apartment, ideal for BBQs or to relax under the trees.



If you have a car, paid street parking operates Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:30pm, currently £3.10/hour. It is free outside these times, including all weekend. There is also Mon-Fri all-day street parking about a 5 minute walk away (£1/hr, capped at £8.40/day).



The Neighborhood:

The apartment enjoys a quiet location on a traditional cobbled street overlooking private gardens with mature trees. The trendy area of Stockbridge with boutique shops, popular bars/restaurants, Waitrose and a lovely Sunday Market are less than a 5 minute walk.



Getting Around:

I recommend downloading the Lothian bus app. It has a great route planner, and the Edinburgh bus service is very good. Edinburgh also has a tram service which takes you from the city centre to the airport. As Edinburgh is relatively small city taxis are also inexpensive.

    The flat and the area were really great for a visit to the Fringe - walkable but also good bus route nearby. The flat was stylish, clean and comfortable (though a kingsize bed would have been appreciated - we were aware from the listing that there were only 2 doubles). However, a date change we made to our booking took several chasing emails to confirm and the information prior to check-in was woefully lacking for planning purposes. We finally got some directions and the keybox number on the day of check-in which was stressful. I would not stay at a property managed by Hotels Around Town again.

    We ended our stay in Edinburgh by staying a couple days at this location in Learmonth Gardens. We found everything we needed for our short stay and the host communicated with us regularly to make sure our needs were met. The location is on a quiet street next to a private neighborhood garden. We even saw a fox there one morning in the midst of the city!

    Loved this two bedroom flat. Decorated just lovely. Everything was perfect, but would love several ice cube trays full and ready upon arrival. I guess we Americans love our ice. Beautiful views out windows front and back. Would definitely stay again. One flight up.
