Stayed May 17, 2023Very nice hosts, excellent reception. The house is directly at the ocean as promised. One has a nice view from one room to the ocean. However, what is not clear from the pictures is that there is no balcony or terace, just a small wooden stair down to the stony seafront, which is rather unattractive as it is dirty (lots of plastic junk etc.) which is not the fault of the landlord of course. The terace with the jacuzzi is facing the loud street and therefore not really attractive to use, it also is shared with other appartments. However, very nice for two people to stay. Although there is a small (6 sqare meters at most) extra room with a bunk bed, this is not really usable for further guests as it has no window and is very small, so even children may feel a bit claustrophobic in there. But if for budget reasons necessary, it is there. Getting from there to Palermo or Cefalu by car is easy, there is a highway entrance directly at the house (the highway itself is around 1 km uphill). There is also a train station nearby and two restaurants. The next city with a supermarket is Trabia, around 4 km away.

Stayed Aug 16, 2024We needed a place on short notice close to Trabia, and Paolo and his sister made sure everything worked out, despite some confusion on check-in as we worked through visiting Italy for the first time. Communication was excellent, there was always someone available to answer questions and we had plenty. Two of the most important things for us: the apartment was very child-friendly; our adventurous two-year old son really could find almost nothing to get into trouble with (after some very minor shifting of the furniture). Secondly, the dining area has a beautiful view of the sea, huge windows, bright and airy with the sound of breaking waves making any meal that much more relaxing, which we really needed this trip. The kitchen is a little cramped, very little counter space for cooking. But everything worked well, even through a gale. We didn't have a car, and access to Trabia and the train station with a stroller was not easy--the roads are not designed to accommodate that, clearly, with narrow tunnels and cracked sidewalks. But it was everything we needed and more, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit the area.

Stayed Dec 15, 2022The flat is very easy to find. Very clean, quite and good organised. Toilet and showercabin are a bit narrow but ok. What I didn’t like is that there is no way for a beach walk nearby. A car is necessary ro reach more or less all places for going out or restaurants. However, they have a closed parking lot. Palermo and Cefalu are to reach in less than 30’. Owner and his sister are very nice people and helpful. They offered some snacks and a good bottle of wine for first evening when arriving late.

Stayed Oct 13, 2021We arrived mid October in the middle of a huge storm. The effect of the storm caused a massive dump of seaweed right up to the property and those adjacent. It was impossible to walk along the beach . There was great volume of plastic debris that had washed up with the seaweed. There was no attempts to clear it including a plastic sunbed that was smashed up and half burned by the sea weed.. when the storm abated locals came each morning to fish and left their litter, including plastic behind. It is impossible to enter the sea from outside the villa as there is a wall of boulders on the sea edge.. on the plus side the dining room is beautiful, fabulous to sit for meals and watch the storms. The front of the property is on a very busy road, the terrace and hot tub are screened to give privacy. There are 2 restaurants close by. We couldn't sunbathe at the house due to shade and shadows. We went 4 times to cefalu, which was fully open , unlike trabia, santa flavia etc, we swam in the sea at cefalu, hired sun loungers and had fabulous fish lunches. In cefalu the season was still in full swing unlike other towns and villages around trabia.

Stayed Oct 4, 2020Amazing little spot by the sea between Trabia and San Nicola! The house was perfect for a couple or a small family. The sea really is just outside the back window, and while the downstairs flat doesn't have its own outdoor terrace, you can either open all the back windows or take the chairs and table and sit on the rocks by the sea listening to the waves crash against the rocks with a glass of wine. The flat itself is recently renovated, with lots of natural light in the dining room, and comfortable living area and beds. Paolo was fantastic!.We arrived on the late flight from London so didn't arrive until around midnight, and there was pizza, beer and wine waiting for us upon arrival at the flat. As the upstairs flat was unoccupied for a couple of days during our stay he was happy to let us use the upstairs terrace for thoise days, which was a brilliant bonus! The immediate local area has some good restaurants within walking distance, Al Nespolo and Balistreri were both excellent - with friendly service, great pizza and free mussels at Balistreri! And a drink on the terrace at La Vetrana gives great sea views. Of the two local towns, San Nicola probably offers more to the tourist, with its marina and places to eat and drink. Trabia is a more traditional local town, but don't try to walk there - not a road for pedestrians! The autostrada is just a couple of minutes up the road, so you have easy access to Cefalu, Palermo, Monreale, and the road south to the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento if you're a bit more adventurous. All in all a wonderful break, made possible by the attentiveness and hospitality of our host! Would highly recommend!

Stayed Feb 1, 2019We spent 5 days in this beautiful little house. Everything was perfect: from the position of the house (on the sea actually, with a suggestive view and near to the highway) to the stuff and the owners. They also gave us bikes to go to the near city center. We sure will come back, during Summer maybe. Certainly recommend!

Stayed Aug 14, 2018We really enjoyed our stay at Paolos house. The location is beautiful and feels like living on the beach. Trabia itself is not touristy at all which makes it perfect for a truly Italian holiday. Paolo was an amazing host and was very attentive and caring. We would come back anytime!
