Great place to stay!
Since we are both healthcare workers imbedded in COVID work, we needed a quiet place and minimal interaction. Call it PTSD, but we just wanted to be left alone. Check in was contact less. Perfect! Of course I had to inspect the kitchen. Some of the utensils had food residue- a knife that had the type of residue when you don't pre rinse, then run it through the dishwasher and the butter residue remains; a teaspoon that clearly appeared to have been used for tea or coffee and left to dry then put away. Since I didn't feel like I could trust the flatware to be clean, I rinsed it before use, same with cups. My idiosyncrasy. Otherwise, the kitchen was fine. I was pleased that we didn't have to deal with a bedspread. Sheets were soft. Pillows with plenty of options. The bed was soft but not in the way that hurts your back. Robes were a nice touch. We walked out to the end of the dock to check out the river, but since we had arrived during the dreaded sand fly invasion, we were forced back. We had purchased wood for fire. We saved it for the final night and had our s'mores instead of dinner. The fire kept the sand flies away and we had a lovely evening, minus the dogs and guests next door. The choices for television were like home. The AC was great. When I mentioned a problem with a light switch, Cookie was ready to fix it immediately. Since it really didn't impact our enjoyment of the place, we opted to have her wait until we had departed. Highly recommend.
Cookie is amazing!! The property was exactly as it’s described and more! Quiet evenings and very friendly locals. We will be back!!
This was a last minute booking as our other RV reservations were in the direct path of Tropical Storm Nicole in Florida. What a pleasant surprise when we found this listing in Georgia. This was our first experience with a VRBO type of booking. We did not know what to expect. However, Cookie our host was amazing. From baked brie and a tropical adult beverage upon our arrival to checking in on us making sure all was ok. Cookie also offered some meal options for us too. We did not take advantage of that as we are pretty self sufficient and had already planned our meals for the RV. Cookie made us feel welcomed, comfortable and was a wealth of information as to what to explore in the area. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back in the future. The location was excellent for us.
This property was everything it was advertised to be and more! it was as beautiful IRL as in the photos (which never happens). We had every imentiy we could ask for and didn't really have to ask. Even with the one room cottage, my husband and I had plenty of room and the right amount of intimacy we were looking for.
Beautiful peaceful getaway! Very secluded and relaxing ❤️ We loved our little cottage!
Cookie is what Southern Hospitality is all about and her property is very close to heaven on earth. So peaceful, so picturesque, so relaxing. If your looking for Club Med just keep looking but if you want peace and quiet and enjoy the beauty of nature this is it. The sunsets are amazing and the outdoor kitchen can make a couples getaway memorable. Sit on the private dock and watch the dolphins swim down the river at sunset.
For our 25th anniversary getaway, we could not have picked a better location and we could not have had a better host! We selected this based on reviews, and loved what people had to say about Cookie. Those reviews were spot on - she is such a wonderful host!! She ensures that you are well taken care of, is extremely responsive, and truly cares about your stay. We took advantage of a low country boil and a boat excursion and Cookie made sure both were unbelievable!! The location - it's perfect for hitting all of the barrier islands. We went to Savannah, Tybee Island, Wormsloe, Jekyll Island, several forts, Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge and Cumberland Island. All very easily travelled to from here. The property was amazing. Well loved - the decor was cozy and unique and we loved it all. The views and wildlife made this one of the most relaxing places we've ever been. I cannot wait to return - either here or another of Cookie's properties - it will be a joy to see her again, knowing we are in good hands.
Santa Salvo Cassetta was exactly as pictured…clean, cozy, comfortable, functionally equipped and adorably decorated. Cookie the owner, filled the cottage with everything that one could possibly need, want, or think of. Whatever she may have left out was provided by nature. Beautiful sunsets, which could be watched from the comfort of a cozy bed, dolphin which were easily spotted by kayak, water fowl galore, and much peace and solitude. The baked Brie and bread in the refrigerator upon arrival, as well as the homemade biscuits and jelly delivered on the last day of my stay made this location a gem and a perfect sample of Southern hospitality!
We spent 4 nights here - and three of those we made sure to be at the cottage for a bonfire to watch the sunset - absolutely beautiful. Very peaceful. We explored the area some - there is a revolutionary fort nearby. We also explored Savannah, Wormsloe, and had wonderful dinners there in Savannah. We also drove down to Jekyll island and rode bikes on the trails there. Plenty to keep us busy for a few nights - but the highlight was always getting back to relax and enjoy the bonfire with sunset! Cookie was an awesome host - very responsive - took care of getting the firewood and even had a little appetizer and a drink available on our arrival! Fun stay! It is Georgia though so bug spray comes in handy until the fire is roaring - she also has some fans available which also helped - not real bad for our visit - just something you need to be aware of!
Loved our stay here! The house has the most incredible view of the dock and water. We rented kayaks and a golf cart and had a blast. The property manager was so nice and had everything set up and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will visit again.
The cottage was gorgeous. When we arrived a few days before Christmas, there was a lit-up Christmas tree by the door, Christmas music playing, and goodies waiting for us in the kitchen. I have never seen such hospitality! Cookie was an incredible hostess and everything she prepared for us and did for us during our stay made us feel special and cared for. I would recommend staying at one of her places to anyone. She made this a fantastic vacation!
