This was a great place to stay in Acadia. Very close to the town of Southwest Harbor. The studio is attached to the owner's house but you have complete privacy. The owners were very kind and lovely to talk to.
Nice, peaceful location allowed my son and me to get away from the crowds and relax. We explored quite a bit of Mount Desert Island and beyond. The kitchen helped us to make some meals ourselves!
Clean and comfortable
It feels like you’re in your own comfortable little cabin in the woods, with an excellent bathroom & a small but serviceable kitchen that is well stocked with cooking equipment & staples. It is well lit & well ventilated & very quiet. The bed & furniture is comfortable. A lovely wooden deck. Very good for a couple or a single traveler.
Manset Studio was a relaxing and comfortable place to stay on the Quietside of MDI. The setup was perfect for my husband and me and offered a great place to relax and unwind after spending our days exploring the island (hiking, kayaking). We cooked almost all of our meals and generally found the kitchen to be well-outfitted. Our hosts also provided some lovely treats - muffins, butter, juice, and more.
Wonderful! Beautiful second floor studio on the quiet side of mount desert island. Better than the photos. Very cozy, clean, and perfect for our honeymoon
I had a lovely six night stay over memorial day weekend, and could not have been happier. The location is off the beaten path, which kept it quiet, but still very accessible to all the things I wanted to do on MDI. Mary is delightful, and I would absolutely stay at this location again.
Very peaceful, just what we needed
This property is exactly as pictured; it is clean, comfortable and well-positioned on the quiet side of the island. Mary and Tom are stellar hosts. I highly recommend this property!
Mary was very welcoming. The studio itself was quiet and cozy.
We enjoyed our second visit just as much as the first! Mary was quick to answer sine questions I had, and the space is just perfect for two. Nice location near the seawall, too!
Cute and neat accomodations. Nice to have basic provisions provided
I have been coming up to the Mount Desert Area for the past seven or so years, but recently had to change where I had been staying due to the passing of the owner. With that in mind, I certainly held my expectations high especially since this would be my boyfriend's first impression of this area as well. The space provided to us here exceeded my expectations in terms of space, proximity to nature, and cleanliness. We felt at home all week and that is certainly thanks to the efforts of Mary and her husband. We had abundant privacy, and a private entry to the space above the attached garage. We had front row seat to a full sky of stars, deer, raccoons, and a firepit when we wanted it. We are certainly looking to return in the future :) Thank you, Mary :)
We had an excellent time at Manset House. Perfect location for exploring MDI, excellent restaurants (Hearth & Harbor, Red Sky and Sweet Pea’s Cafe) and very quiet location. The apartment was amply sized, clean, had a comfy bed and space to stretch out for a couple. I’m a cooker and the utensils, pans, and kitchen stuff could use an upgrade. Most people would have no trouble. The AC worked great for hot days and the windows caught a great breeze. Treats were left for our arrival. There were two places to be outside- a deck off the entrance and a fire pit on the lawn with a gas grill. We had an excellent vacation, and I would definitely stay again.
EXCELLENT PLACE. NICE PEOPLE
Great spot for kayaking, quiet neighborhood, great property.
Really enjoyed my week on the quiet side in this comfortable, woodsy apartment in the trees. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and the apartment had everything I needed. The place is quite spacious with ample outdoor space and very quiet. Don't miss Peter Trout's restaurant nearby - their steak sandwich is heavenly!
If you are a couple or perhaps a small family and are looking for a quiet place to stay that is away from all the busy areas, then this is the place! First of all, the owners were always just a text or phone call away if anything was needed. My wife and I were particularly impressed by the simple gesture we found in the refrigerator when we arrived late on our first night: two muffins, a bowl of cherries, and milk and orange juice...all for our breakfast the next morning. The studio has everything you need in the kitchen if you want to make any meals during your stay. The place is clean and very close to Southwest Harbor and all of the other attractions on the quiet side of Mt Desert Island. And when you want to explore the busier side (Bar Harbor and all the Acadia National Park attractions on the east side of the island), the drive is only about 30 minutes. There are no views to speak of from the deck, and you'll need to go to the laundry mat in Southwest Harbor or Ellsworth if you plan to pack light and wash clothes, but these are the only two things we can say are negatives, and both are just minor to us. Acadia National Park is an incredible place! If you need a small place that is centrally located on Mount Desert Island, you won't be dissapp
This was our first trip to Acadia, and Tom and Mary were excellent hosts! The property is clean and cozy, with lots of considerate touches (some snacks for when we got there, a collection of books, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, etc). The only thing that could have been better was the Wi-Fi - we seemed to be just out of range of the router, so an extender might fix the issue. That said, Acadia is so beautiful that we didn’t really mind, and we enjoyed having a bit of a break from technology. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!!
Quiet and private, close to Cadillac Mountain. After one foggy day we had beautiful weather.
We loved our stay at this cozy, clean, and well-stocked studio close to Acadia National Park! It was the perfect place from which to explore the gorgeous area. The hosts are wonderful, quick to answer questions, and included helpful information about the area in the welcome basket. Highly recommend!
Stayed here for a solo week business trip. Clean, comfortable, cozy, and very close to everything you may need in SW Harbour! Owners live next door and are very helpful if you need any local information. I will stay here again. Kitchen is perfect for cooking meals. Thank you for a relaxing stay.
