Perfect for our visit with family in town. Quiet, clean and centrally located. Reasonably priced. Much to see: waterfront, nearby forests, waterfalls, lakes. Fun for 3 generations of family

The place is next to an overlook to the port, which is very nice to seat on a bench and enjoy your morning coffee. The property was as listed, clean and cosy. The host was hospitable and responsive.

This was the perfect place to stay for my visit to PA! The photos didn’t prepare me for how nice the apartment is. Everything I needed was there, and the location was ideal, both because it was close to downtown and my local relatives, and because the setting is gorgeous. The Porthole is a daylight basement apartment, and the house the apartment is in is right on the water, with a park in the strip of land between the front yard of the house and the Sound. I was there during some cold weather, and had things to do that prevented me from spending much time there, but we did have a very clear day one of the days of my stay, and the view was breathtaking. I highly recommend the Porthole to anyone visiting Port Angeles.

We had a delightful stay in the cozy and comfortable Porthole. The check in was a breeze and we found everything we could possibly need in this both well appointed and supplied fun space. The bathroom has great lighting, super nice shower, and lots of towels:) The covered patio was a relaxing spot for lunch, the bench on the front lawn provided a great spot to watch sunset and enjoy the water views, and the zig zag path in front of the house provided the perfect walk to and from town. We had excellent communication with the hosts. In response to a need we had, they were very prompt and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return to explore more of the area one day.

What a perfect rental for our first time to Port Angeles! Very walkable to restaurants and the ferries. The space was perfect for 2 people. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of fluffy towels. We especially loved the welcome book that was very informative with local suggestions. We had such a wonderful time and hope to come back!

My husband and I travel a lot for business. I read the customer reviews and feel like we stayed somewhere else. This was an old fashioned basement garage turned into a one bedroom mini-apartment. I'm 5'5 and I could easily touch the ceiling and the dark turquoise plush carpet made it seem even more cave-like. The small courtyard over the old driveway was cute, but upon entering, it seemed dark and slightly damp. We turned on the heater to dry the air. There is no view of anything from this room, it was nice enough, good bathroom and nice pillows, but not luxury. Only one TV in the main room, the sofa needs an update, no Kleenex, no USB plugs of any kind, no full length mirror. Oh, and the long black hairs on the blanket under the top quilt was not good. I know Port Angeles is a desert when it comes to nicer and newer hotels, that's why other places can charge such high rates, but the ~$450 we paid for one night was too much.

The Porthole apartment was absolutely perfect for the two of us. Everything was very clean, super functional and comfortable and exactly as described. The location was exceptional too, taking just minutes to walk to downtown shops and restaurants. We also took full advantage of the close proximity to Olympic National Park! Would definitely make this reservation again!!

Amy and her husband were wonderful! It is a really nicely appointed apartment-type setting, right near the downtown area...you can walk to everything very easily! I would recommend ear plugs because there's not a lot of noise buffer between the bedroom and the dwelling above, but that's it...everything else was lovely and we will definitely stay here again!

Nice clean small basement apartment, very convenient to walk downtown Port Angeles. Two grocery stores within 5 min walk. Only real downsides are occasionally hearing the host walking above, and the many homeless in the town. Good restaurants nearby but also nothing opens before 8 am…

My Mom and I had a great stay here! The space is so cozy/private, bed was comfortable, and the outdoor patio was lovely to hang out on and drink coffee on sunny mornings and grill our dinner at night. The hosts were responsive, kind and left lots of good recommendations for the area in a binder. There’s a public park area in front of the house that has great views of Port Angeles, and a zig zag path just steps away that leads to the main downtown area. We will definitely be back soon!

Very comfortable unit that had everything we needed. The location was perfect for us. Less than 2 miles to Olympic National Park visitor center and within walking distance of downtown. It was great to be set up high away from the traffic with spectacular views of the harbor and the mountains when you stepped outside. We enjoyed the zigzag walk down to town, but you can always easily drive if you can't manage the climb. The unit has a cute outdoor area that was completely private and functions as another room when the weather is good. The king size bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. The appliances and small frig were perfect for our breakfast and lunch food. Nice restaurants within walking distance. We even caught a free concert at the pier and had delicious ice cream at Welly's that the blend with fresh fruit.

Water pressure was amazing, bed comfortable and nice assortment of snacks provided.
