Pet Friendly, Oceanfront Downstairs Unit of Private Home, Pet Friendly

The unit was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The Platt’s were awesome hosts and very responsive with ant inquiries. Close to the center of everything. Our only complaint is the vacation ended.

Right on the beach by private walkway. We were disappointed in that we could not reserve it for next year. Everything was as described---well provisioned, lots of outside areas to sit, and very cozy. Wonderful hosts--helped us out in a couple of emergencies. Amelia Island is a real gem, we have never seen a place with so many wonderful restaurants. Wish we could stay here again--

Brenda & Jim were most friendly and all communication before we arrived was excellent. Everything about the whole trip was so well planned from them - great instructions, how to get there, what to do when you get there. Unit was clean as a whistle. To top it off, nothing like staying right on Fernandina Beach. Walking that boardwalk over the dunes to get to one of the most beautiful beaches in the USA. Chester, our 13 lb. red toy poodle was totally welcomed. He made so many friends on the beach. Every morning he nudged us as if to say....are you ready, can we go now? He was on his retractable leash and having a ball. Everyone stopped to pet him. His tail wagged. His tongue hanging, being a happy dog. He wants to go back. We will. We also walked the neighborhood and Chester made friends with 3 other dogs down the block. The picture of the beach is exactly how it is and NEVER, EVER crowded. It is heavenly. Thank you to Jim & Brenda. The best! (p.s. we had the two bedroom unit...mostly so we could have 2 bathrooms - worked out great for the 2 of us).

Everything was very clean and bed was comfy. Didn’t get to enjoy the beach other than a quick walk down the private pier. Nicely appointed and great communication with owner. Location was ideal and close to everything we needed on the island. Would love to stay here again.

This Vrbo is a GEM. The space was perfect for us and our little dog. We enjoyed using the kitchen. It was well stocked with most of the things you would need to cook and serve with. The living space was comfortable and the tv service was easy to use. The WiFi was exceptional. We loved the private beach access - such a treat! We enjoyed the porch / patio area also and even enjoyed some meals outside as well as some naps. Our host was amazing. She was friendly, quick with responses, and so accommodating. And, as an interesting surprise, we discovered she’s also an accomplished artist! Many of the paintings in the unit were created by her. You could tell that this unit was furnished and decorated with care and thought behind it, with the turtle theme. During our stay we saw dune bunnies and gopher turtles in the backyard! So serene! We are already planning our next stay!

This was hands down the best experience I’ve had with VRBO. The host, Brenda, made everything super easy, and the space was furnished with everything you possibly could need … plenty of paper products, linens, beach gear (including a cooler!), kitchen ware, etc. I stayed in the 2 BR unit, which was spacious and nicely furnished, both inside and out. The photos don’t do justice to how lovely this unit is. Brenda was a delightful host, and I highly recommend this listing. I hope to return next year.

This was our 3rd or maybe 4th time staying so we obviously really like to stay there. Nice to be on the beach and the new putting green was also a nice addition. Will definitely stay again. Thanks!

Loved it! The large covered outdoor area is perfect. They even provide the nice toilet paper, not the cheap stuff.

Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Very nice and comfortable. Very accommodating for pets also. Would highly recommend and we look forward to staying there again.

Excellent on site and friendly hosts. We had no issues that needed addressing, a wonderful location. Check in could not be any more easy. Just walk right in drop your bags and walk to the beach. This was our second visit and surely not our last.

Brenda’s place was fantastic! We loved being close to the beach and she had everything we needed. (Beach towels, kids toys, umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, etc). It was so nice not to have to pack all of those things.

Every year we stay here, the owners are always making improvements and keeping the property up to date. We love it here and always recommend it to our friends and family.

The place is beautiful and clean and I will be going back I would have loved to stay longer.

Cute house on beach with 3 units. Ours was on bottom with 2 bedrooms. Wide porch and backyard that you share with other unit with a partition between. Lots of seating outside to enjoy the views and brand new walk way to beach. Our unit was so cute and stocked with all you can need or what you forgot !! The 5 of us and 2 small dogs enjoyed it and had washer & dryer and beach towels. Owners live upstairs and both units downstairs are pet friendly …. We took turns going outside and made it work. Great short spring break trip!

Every year my husband and I go fishing with my daughter’s family. Found this spot a couple of years ago, and was lucky enough to snag both units this year. We had the 1 bedroom, they had the adjoining 2 bedroom - was perfection. Big deck for relaxing and dinning - private walkway to the beach - truly could not have asked for anything more perfect. Sadly we cannot book for next year, as it is already booked. Hosts were great to communicate with.

Wonderful, relaxing stay in spacious, clean lodgings that open onto multiple dune side decks and a beautiful walkway to one of the best beaches in Florida.

Stellar experience at this remarkable location. Almost too good to be true but it is true. Everything you will need in comfort and style, tips for eateries and experiences. Ample linens, blankets and towels. Kitchen appliances and helps complete. Bright welcoming beachy decor, natural light, slider doors and huge patio outdoor furnishings. The ocean is calling, sea gulls screeching, pelicans plunge, gopher turtles sun themselves. Our spaniel was welcomed!

Great walkover to the dune topped deck. Very comfortable kingsize bed. Parking is great. Beautiful views of sunrise. Definite plus as each of the 2 bedrooms has its own full bath. Hope to stay there again.

The location is wonderful on the sunrise side of the beach. Huge beautiful beach with white sands, and not terribly busy. Lots of shells and wildlife.Lots of restaurants, bike trails, and other things to do in the Amelia Island historic District. Very much enjoy this day! TVs in each room, comfortable beds, lots of outdoor furniture, laundry facilities, hot tub, full kitchen, utensils, and barbecue. Felt like home.

Hostess thought of it all! Lots of amenities that you usually have to buy when renting a condo or house. Beach access! Quiet.

This place is a gem! Everything you need is at hand. Very comfortable & clean. The beach is fabulous and just a short walk across the walkway to get your feet in the sand. Brenda’s home was the perfect place for a wonderful beach vacation, every essential you could think of, was provided! We couldn’t ask for a better location or place to stay! We enjoyed seeing the turtle and rabbits! We all loved it!

Enjoyed our stay tremendously at Turtle Cay. It was generously appointed with anything you may need for the beach, kitchen bedding, and small things that matter most that you may have forgotten. We had a very relaxing stay.

Wow! The reservation process was easy & the owner was prompt responding to all my questions. My family typically stays in condos on the Gulf of Mexico & we decided to try a different beach.
