This was our 3rd booking and it once again exceeded expectations. No details overlooked and the flexibility from the owners during our wedding weekend was unsurpassed !!

Beautiful place, extremely clean. Host was great, super easy communication, very friendly and helpful. Charming, quiet neighborhood, perfect for dog walking and close to Riverwalk and attractions. Would definitely stay here again!

The property was excellent. Everything was A plus. The carriage house was fully stocked and then some. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need. It was very neat and clean and check in was a breeze. We parked our car and walked to just about everything. It was a lovely, safe neighborhood. We had a fantastic time in Wilmington.

Bobby and Wayne could not have set up clearly with much thought and consideration a more welcoming property and process. We loved our stay at the Butterly Hideout and everything was so easy and delightful. I helped my daughter look for places to live and we found a place for her nearby so I will be back when I (and or my husband and dog at times) will be back for sure to visit her. Best, Mary

The place was very nice and clean! Perfect size for just two of us. It was easy walking distance to the river walk area. Hosts were great with responding quickly and very nice and left great recommendations of what to do in the area. Hope to be back and be able to stay again!

Everything was perfect. Second time we were here and it was just at good as the first time if not better. Clean room, brought our dog and was like he was at home. Restaurants, shops, and bars are all in walking distance. The room was meticulously clean and all the amenities you can think of. I travel a lot for work and this room is much better than any hotel and by far the best VRBO I have stayed at.

We enjoyed our stay here, it was very modern and clean! Convenient walking location to river walk. Parking was a little difficult on a Saturday but overall would recommend and would stay here again!

The butterfly house is top notch in every way. Wayne and Bobby go above and beyond to stock the house with any and all amenities and little extras you could hope for. The house is beautifully decorated, the bed is comfortable and the location is quiet. Will definitely book again!

Great little place. The check in packet is very thorough. The host provide lots of detail on the area and the apartment with recommendations for things to do a places to eat. The room is laid out well even though it’s small. Lots of convenient items in the room which the hosts explain in the welcome packet. Very pet friendly and very clean. Would recommend and would stay again.

my teen daughter & i traveled for a mother/daughter trip with a friend and her daughter and we loved our stay here! the carriage house was the perfect size and located in walking distance to downtown. we enjoyed walks checking out the historic homes in the neighborhood and never felt unsafe. biggest perk: well-stocked amenities like toilet paper, not just one roll that runs out mid-trip :) thanks for being fantastic hosts, would definitely stay again!

We were extremely happy with our stay here! Impeccably clean, well decorated and appointed, great location on a quaint residential street but walkable to the river and shops and restaurants. Would hands down stay here again if we return!

My husband and I loved staying here! The place is immaculate and lovely. We’ve never stayed at a VRBO that was so thoughtfully appointed and configured as a guest house for both humans and dogs. We had a great 4-night stay at Butterfly Hideaway. The neighborhood is very quiet but close to restaurants, stores, the riverfront and historical sites. We found this place perfect for us and our little dog. Would stay again if we’re in Wilmington again.

My wife and I spent two nights and we cannot recommend you stay here strongly enough. The facility is modern, comfortable, quiet, convenient and has everything you might want and then some. If giving 100 stars was possible we would do that. Stop looking and just stay here. Really.

A nice and very clean space in a quiet neighborhood that is conveniently located close to downtown.

10/10. Everything about this apartment was perfect! Great location, very well appointed and very clean. The hosts were very welcoming to me and my dog. I found everything I needed and was very comfortable. It was very easy to check in and out. The hosts thought of everything I might need.

Had a wonderful four-nite time stay at the carriage house run by Wayne and Bobby. They thought of every little detail to make our stay worry free. The kitchen was fully equipped, the beds extremely comfortable, and there were even toiletries in case we forgot something as well as bones and doggie bags for our pups.

This place is pristine, in a convenient location for enjoying historic Wilmington, and provides anything you might need for a getaway with a pooch in tow. Would definitely stay here again!

Our second stay in six months at this lovely property. Close to the Riverwalk and the shops and restaurants of Wilmington. Quiet historic area that oozes charm. Thoughtfully set up with everything you need. Butterfly Cottage has it all.

We've stayed in many rental properties during our travels, but this property stands out as one of our favorites. My wife and I and our dog were there for 10 nights. The location couldn't be better; a lovely, quiet and safe neighborhood in the heart of the historic district, a 5-minute walk to Front Street and the Riverfront with dining and retail options, and easy access by car to Wilmington's main arteries. The rental itself is hard to improve upon. It is well-equipped, appliances and cookware are new and high-end, climate control is easy to operate and the numerous windows with new dual-shades allowed us to keep the inside as bright or as dark as we needed.Wayne and Bobby are what hosts should be. Their home is on-site but apart from the rental. Communication with them was easy and responses were always within minutes, not hours. They are hands-off but easily accessible at any time. I could not have hoped for a better experience.

This was an adorable little cottage with everything we needed. The location was about 4 blocks off of the marathon route and we loved being able to have our dogs. No problems finding free street parking right in front of the house and easy places to walk and potty the dogs.

Great location in historic area of Wilmington, close walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, great record store etc. Hosts were great - we had a super minor issue (batteries dead in tivo remote - crisis!!). I told them we’d get batteries next AM and like 3 minutes later there was a basket outside the door with batteries (and candy!). Incredibly well appointed and comfortable- good space for 2 people would be tight with more. Wifi worked well

We had a fantastic experience at this property! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated everything was. The location was perfect – close to local attractions but still quiet and peaceful. We also appreciated the little touches, like extra towels, toiletries, and the variety of board games for a night in. Overall, this property exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable hassle-free getaway.

Our children stayed here with their 2 dogs over Thanksgiving break while we celebrated with family in the area. The carriage house was immaculate, cozy, well stocked and in a great walking distance to downtown and the riverfront area. The host was very gracious to allow earlier check-in and the opportunity to stay a little longer past check out if needed be. I would definitely recommend this property!

Charming new construction in a gorgeous historic area, just blocks from the river walk. We loved the space and the location. The neighborhood is quiet, and there are blocks upon blocks of beautiful historic homes to explore. The hosts have thought of all the little details, including a great selection of coffee, microwave popcorn for an afternoon treat, and dog bones for our pup. There's a detailed guest guide with QR codes for local restaurants and bars. We had a fantastic dinner at a local hole-in-the-wall called Savorez, a great lunch at On Thyme, and enjoyed more good-eats along the river walk at the Pilot House and the George. Wayne and Bobby have created an inviting getaway spot to enjoy all that Historic Wilmington has to offer. We look forward to visiting again.

Wayne and Bobby were responsive and attentive to all communications, creating an easy check in/out process. They provided amazing information regarding the neighborhood and some fantastic food/drink recommendations! We loved the space and all the extras and thoughtful touches included!

Very responsive, incredibly clean, and easy going with the stay! Had all necessary toiletries and shower products stocked up as well! Overall great experience and would definitely stay there again when I’m in town.

We stayed three nights with our adult daughter and two dogs and this was a perfect pet friendly place! Great location for walking to downtown restaurants and venues. For us, the ease of walking our dogs in the church yard next door or around the block was great. The property is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well-socked with most anything you will need.

I was displaced from Asheville then Melbourne after storms. This spot gave me the ability to hide away and recalibrate for a few days. A wonderful little clean modernized spot in the historic district.

The butterfly hideout is the perfect place to stay in Wilmington. Everything is clean and updated. The host was so easy to communicate with and made the whole process extremely easy. It was walkable distance to all restaurants and shops. I will definitely be back!

The one-bedroom apartment has everything you need for your stay. The hosts have included nice amenities for the bathroom and kitchen that you don't usually see in travel rentals. Very walkable location.

Our hosts Wayne & Bobby were excellent. They created a very friendly environment for us and our little dogs. The amenities were new and it felt like they had thought of everything someone staying there could need. It was an absolute delight to stay there. Our only regret is that we didn’t have enough time to finish the butterfly coloring book/guestbook. The location was perfect for walking our dogs, walking to the historic riverfront area or just walking around in general to take in the beautiful neighborhood. Will plan on staying there again next time we come to Wilmington.

We stayed at the Butterfly Hideaway in late August as a way to test out the potential of being digital nomads in Wilmington, NC. The carriage house was perfect! Every detail was better than advertised. All that was needed for our 10-day stay, even down to the coffee pods for the Keurig and the Coffee mate creamer were available to us. The hosts, Wayne and Bobby were absolutely wonderful and welcoming. They were quick to respond to any questions, and super helpful in local details. We enjoyed many recommendations including Terra Sol Yoga (5 min walk) and Castle Street Kitchen for dinner (5 min walk). Overall, great VRBO and would highly recommend for anyone interested in a great in Wilmington!

We were very happy with our accommodations. Everything was exceptionally clean, tidy and updated. We LOVED the neighborhood and where it was located. It was very quiet and relaxing, but close to all that downtown offers. Thank you very much for having us and we hope to come back.

I loved having lots of coffee pods to try and the candy was a nice treat! Thanks for having beach chairs available; we used them for a day trip to Wrightsville beach.
