Pearl Mill Flats ( Formerly Duke Tower ) unit 141

Visiting family locally. Needed a base of operations.

Miscommunication from owner about check in time led to late arrival, tired travelers, frustration getting in. No top sheet on bed; found one in bathroom closet, but bottom sheet wouldn't stack tucked in. Cheap sheets, thin, discolored, clearly past their prime.; bought sheets and set of towels. Clean but stained mismatched towels. Tub drains slowly, so stand in water while showering. None of the customary shampoo. toiletries, no starting packet of coffee. Grouting stained, damage & holes in bedroom door; old thin stick-on 'tile' in closet (and on floors), dirty carpet in bedroom, mismatched lamp shades, nude male artwork in living room. Whole apartment would benefit from new blinds in living room with drapes; add blinds to bedroom, replace low ceiling in kitchen, replace old metal closet doors, interior doors, replace moldings, repaint, granite on counters would be really nice, add hand towel holder in bath. repair poorly draining tub. This really could be a nice place, if the owner put a modest amount of money and effort into improving it. For now? 2 stars in generous.

We have stayed at Pearl Mill Flats before, this was the first time at this unit. Luca, our host, was very helpful and quick answering any questions we had. The living room was very comfortable. It was nice having a TV in both the living room and the bedroom. The bathroom was clean but is very outdated and can use some TLC. I wish we had brought our own towels. The bed was very comfortable.

Very convenient to downtown, 9th Street, ballpark, bike trails and more. Also lovely pool & complex just to hang out and relax.

Very secure setting with enclosed courtyard for multiple units. Swimming pool was very clean. Contacting owner of property was quick and efficient. Quiet area. Nice central location.

I was familiar with the building from prior visits to Durham. The owner has done good upgrades that don't show up in the pictures, e.g. tv’s, vinyl plank. The security of the building was excellent and though a senior citizen alone, I always felt safe. I highly recommend it.

It's not short fancy, but the host is great, and it has everything you need. The neighbors are friendly, and it's reasonable walking custard to downtown, and the Duke East Campus, as well as 9th Street for restaurants and shops. I'd definitely stay there again!

Walking distance to the bars and restaurants downtown and easy to get around town from there. Nice place.

Property has all the basics, a comfortable bed, hot shower and a swimming pool to boot. Owner was available to answer our questions and made us feel very welcome during our stay.

The place was gated in that made me feel more secure. Didn't spend very much time in the condo because my husband ended up the hospital most of the time we were there .The bed was very comfortable. Thankful laundry was in the facility . Plenty machines didn't take long to do laundry.Enjoyed the condo the little time I spent in there.
