Durham Rare Waterfront Gem: Close to Everything!

This was a lovely home that accommodated our large family. We enjoyed the deck and back yard by the pond! Bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of room for all. Hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

from the very beginning, Sue was such an amazing host. The minute I booked, I got a text message from her, asking me if I needed anything or had some questions. When we arrived, we knew we had booked the perfect place. Everything was already outside by the lake including lawn chairs, and soccer goal nets. Everything was perfectly labeled in the kitchen, so no guessing games there. All the bedrooms were perfect for all of our needs. there was even an amazing game room with Galactica old school video arcade game as well as a foosball table. Both were such beloved activities for all the kids. Even in the very hot 90° weather, the AC in the house was such an amazing refuge when we were not by the lake or in the backyard. The icing on the cake was the fishing. It was my kids’ first time fishing and they caught so many fish that we ended up throwing back out. They had smiles from ear to ear. It truly was a highlight to see all of my family there creating core memories. There were two poles that we found in the closet. The checkout was just as easy. Very simple asks. And I know that Sue has a heart of gold because when a cousin of mine had left a beloved stuffed animal in one of the bedrooms, she found it immediately and shipped it right out that very same day back to it’s sweet owner. highly recommend, 10 out of 10. Don’t hesitate.

Our family stayed here for my daughter’s graduation from NCSU. Although it was out of Raleigh a bit, it was very close to the interstate and close to great dining and shopping while still feeling like you were on n a rural area. The lake was so relaxing! The house is on the older side, but there is plenty of space and the kitchen was a nice size. The back deck is large and shaded. Overall a nice property for family.

We had a lovely time here. House is great for a family and well supplied. We loved the large back deck and pond! We would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here with six long term friends for a Duke reunion. We loved the beautiful setting - very peaceful. There was room for all of us to sleep and all of our cars. We cooked dinner there one night - the kitchen is well stocked. We watched basketball games and spent lots of time out on the deck. The layout is a bit quirky, but it worked for us. Sue was a great, flexible host and communicated so well. We even talked about coming back to this house in five years for our next reunion!

Very organized and well stocked! Gorgeous property on a lake. Everything is organized and labeled. Dishes and materials are so well stocked! Toiletries provided. Kind property owners. Great communication.

This was our second time staying at the property while we visited family in the area. My kids enjoyed the large backyard and various toys. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

The property was beautiful and in a great location! The house was clean and well stocked. The owners were extremely sweet and went above and beyond.

Our youngest son was getting married, and although most of the out of town guests were staying in a hotel, we wanted a place that could accommodate ourselves, my parents and our other son, daughter in law and grandson, and possibly our 19 YO granddaughter and her BF. This location served our needs very nicely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was centrally located and was clean and comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay for a small reunion of friends. The house is just as described, two comfortable sitting areas and a large deck and yard with seating too. Everything you would need in the kitchen and entire home was clean. Extra touches were appreciated - charging blocks by every bed and in the main areas too. Communication was easy and hosts were responsive. The house is on a peaceful street but close to everything - shops and restaurants. Easy drive to Durham.

The house is located in a great location that is close to many things. The house was clean and well stocked. The owners responded quickly to text messages and were available, if needed, to make sure our stay was excellent.
