Been going there 25+ years and love the area.
Wonderful home
Very nice house. Have a deck next to the stream sit out there w/ our granddaughter and threw rocks. Absolutely wonderful place. Would definitely recommend this house.
Great location for our activities. Nice spaces for all to gather especially the deck by river. Only negatives are not supplying enough basics like toilet paper and paper towels. No dishwasher soap. But, I blame that on their contracted cleaning crew who greeted us very rudely by yelling profanities even though we arrived after check-in time. But, here again, I would definitely stay again.
Our family really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home on the Vallecito. The home was well equipped with the amenities and the comforting sound of the River created an atmosphere of peace and contentment.
The property was great. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the deck by the river. It has a large kitchen with lots of space and all the amenities. The cabin is large, very nice and clean.
We are a family of seven adults and two dogs, we easily fit in this spacious home. The deck near the river is an amazing feature and we spent many relaxing moments there. Stargazing is great! There is a back deck and front deck and both are also great for relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hiked nearby and a bit further afield, all of it easily reachable with a bit of driving. Checking in, it was helpful that there was someone else who did have cell phone reception, which I did not. We initially only had one key but thankfully Rick brought by another, as well as some supplies that were not there initially (little toilet paper, no dishwasher detergent, no laundry detergent, no dish soap). The home was reasonably clean, but it seemed that the cleaning had been abandoned halfway through. Something to be aware off, that we did not catch from the pictures and description: there are three bedrooms upstairs but two are connected as in, you have to walk through one to get to the other. This may not be a problem for your family but it was somewhat awkward for mine. The other bedroom has a mattress that is making quite a bit of noise with the slightest movement. Something else to be aware of is that we were happy we could bring dogs, but they are not allowed on the couches or beds. There were a lot of dogs off leash in the neighborhood.
Beautiful place. Whole community is friendly.
We enjoyed our stay. Peaceful coffee mornings and starry nights. Pagosa is about an hour and half away and Durango 45 minutes. Overall the experience was wonderful.
