Overlooking the Old Port of Bastia

It was amazing. The stairs are serious but it’s worth ever step.

An extremely well-equipped and nice apartment (only missed a scewdriver to fasten the shower nozzle). The drawback - very steep stairs (93 steps to reach the roof terrace). The view from the terrace is fantastic, but the small metal folding chairs were very uncomfortable and didn't invite for a longer stay when the weather permitted. The beds were fine, the futon not so comfortable and difficult to unfold. A lot of noise from the street at night, but with the windows closed and the air conditioning on, we slept well and didn't hear anything. On the whole - a very nice apartment.

The apartment was not only large, well equipped and comfortably furnished but also very pleasing to an aesthetic eye. The view was stunning and the location very close to the shopping centre of Bastia and a short walk to the train station. The wifi was fast worked well. The owners were very kind and helpful with advice about arrival details and arranging a taxi on our departure. The only negative for guests could be the six flights of narrow winding stone stairs if guests have a problem with stairs or mountains of heavy luggage.

The apartment is extremely well equipped and nicely furnished. The views from the windows and the roof terrace over the old port were stunning and it was worth getting up early to watch the sunrise. There were plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance so if you didn’t feel like cooking you had plenty of choice. Be prepared for a climb up to the apartment. It is in an old building and there are a lot of steps up to the property, some well trodden over the years so could be challenging for anyone with even a slight mobility problem. It certainly proved a challenge and we were a lot fitter at the end of the holiday. Bastia is an interesting place to explore but it is very hilly. We didn’t hire a car and settled for a relaxing break instead of lots of sight seeing. We had hoped to use public transport but this proved difficult as it wasn’t wonderful. If you want to see the island I’d suggest hiring a car.

A stunning apartment with lovely views of the harbour - a very convenient location for the town. Alain and Michelle were very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bastia. Lovely comfortable spacious apartment with comfortable beds and great facilities. Especially great was the upstairs patio area - the best views in Bastia.
