Modern Inner Sunset 1 bedroom apartment

Property was ok difficult in finding parking. Also unit needs a toaster!

My husband and I stayed in the unit for 9 nights. Our initial impression was very positive.The unit is located beneath the main residence. The owner was very responsive to our requests. The night we arrived, we needed a wine opener, an ice tray and they were provided quickly.The bathroom is small, but functional. The only counter space is the back of the toilet, although there is a spacious medicine cabinet above the sink. The medicine cabinet contains the unit’s only mirror. During our stay, the toilet would continue running unless the handle was jiggled and the sink stopper did not work. The bed and linens were excellent, the mattress was very comfortable. However, there was only one bedside table. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glassware and silverware. The gas stove vent hood has switches for both a light and fan, but neither appeared to function. Drawer pulls were difficult.Because the unit is on the lower lever, we found the bare floors quite cold. The only area rug is under the coffee table. The television was excellent.Our primary concern was the amount of noise from the unit above. The first morning it sounded as though someone was doing a jumping exercise routine overhead for about 30 minutes which prompted us to contact the owner. The noise lessened after that but never disappeared. Because the rental is directly beneath the main living area, prospective guests should be aware the overhead noise is a constant part of the experience.

The location of this place is perfect. Walk-in distance to everything. We enjoyed our stay.

I'm so pleased to have found this little gem in the Sunset for our stay while my husband had a procedure at UCSF (about a 1 mile walk from the property). When we had to extend our stay due to medical complications, Dominic went out of his way to make it happen. The property is clean, uncluttered, has an excellently stocked kitchen, a comfortable bed, good water pressure with lots of hot water. I am a light sleeper and didn't hear a sound all night - or day either, for that matter. Dominic always responded promptly by email to any questions or requests - a wonderful host. Parking was not a problem. A very safe, quiet neighborhood, if not a good hike up the hill from the take-out restaurants on Irving. Would we stay again? Absolutely, on our next trip to UCSF! First of all, location, location, location. The property is in the Inner Sunset, toward Golden Gate Heights, a quiet residential neighborhood in SF, but very close to great stuff. The apartment is a 15-minute downhill walk to the busy commercial strip along Ninth Avenue/Irving (great restaurants, bakeries, bars), Golden Gate Park, The DeYoung Museum, the SF Botanical Garden (spectacular at all seasons -- and do try the 1:30 free daily tour!), and, well, the views to the north of the Golden Gate Bridge, and to the West of the Pacific Ocean. It's a spectacular location. We have a daughter in the neighborhood, so it was perfect for us, and so vastly nicer than the touristy downtown SF area. The apartment itself is very clean, functional, and easy. The bed is comfortable, and we both slept very well. The kitchen is easy to work in, though we didn't do any ambitious cooking, just oatmeal in the morning. The living room is large, and a bit spartan -- one of the couches is a little uncomfortable -- and it would be nice if there were a couple of extra little end tables and lamps. But there's a nice kitchen/dining room table, which was very good for working and eating, excellent overhead lighting, loads of electrical outlets, and a TV that gets every channel imaginable. Check-in and check-out were simple. The owners, whom we met at the end of our stay, live right upstairs. They were very nice, attentive to our needs, and accessible. We hope to be back!

Exactly as promised. Quiet block about 20-30 minutes from downtown.

My partner and I stayed here for a week and had a wonderful stay. The place is well furnished with an equipped kitchen and a market, coffee, restaurants and the light rail all in close proximity. The neighborhood is quaint, quiet and very safe. The only downside is that the sound proofing from the hosts above wasn’t great and so we’d often hear footsteps of folks walking around, though that didn’t bother us too much. Dominic and Nara were very responsive and helpful over text, and otherwise respectful of our privacy. I would recommend this place to others looking to stay in SF.

This apt was located within walking distance of Golden Gate Park and the Cole Valley neighborhoods. Also, well located for public transportation. Owner was very responsive via email and text to our inquiries. We had a great time.

Decorative sofa was impossible to sit in and we could not make it comfortable with pillows. Sleeper sofa was ok for sleeping, but also impossible for sitting in. We could sit sideways with 3 pillows for comfort. Otherwise, minimally furnished, but adequate. The noises from above were not an issue at all.

Great appartment! Kitchen had everything ... even some supplies. Andronico’s (good supermarket) is a short walk away with a great collection of fresh organic fruit and vegetables! Getting transport is really easy too with the number 6 bus stop just around the corner. Just buy your Munni day pass online....$5 gets you anywhere all day! If you want to sleep in the day though, bring some earplugs and an eye mask, as there is noise transference from the family living above and no blackout curtains! The bed was really comfortable! Access was easy...with a key safe by the front door.
